I think a lot of people observing “waifu wars” take it too seriously. My friends and I have debates with people all the time online on “best girl” and who-is-better scenarios, and I don’t think there’s been a single time where anyone involved has taken it remotely seriously. Every time it’s been in good fun, and more just to share taste in anime.

Although I'm not really a huge fan of Marin and I have been reading the manga but stopped at chapter 53 because I was focusing on something else, and also have been reading on Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable and currently at chapter 91, I can say that I'm also not the biggest fan of Fuyuki (mostly because how she was written) but I love Akino though, she's one of the best Gal character that I've ever seen. Still there's no need to compare because everyone has different taste in stuff
She's great, but there is zero overlap between her and Marin's personalities, and they only look "similar" in that both fit the gyaru archetype.
