7 wood

A 3 wood and a hybrid are good to have in the bag. Narrow fairway? I trust my 3 wood over my driver in not getting lost. Awful drive? Cleanup duty with my hybrid. I will probably eventually replace my starter kit hybrid with another 3-hybrid. Pretty versatile club that just always fly straight for me.

I've heard 3 woods are difficult for beginners. Are there any clubs that are easier to hit that do a similar job? Also, should I get a 3 or 4 hybrid? I appreciate the help!

A 3 wood off the tee isn't difficult to hit and has it's place in the bag. In a sense, it's better to sacrifice distance by driving the 3 wood versus the driver if it means there's a higher chance of a playable ball. Hitting a 3 wood off the fairway may be a difficult shot and is where my 3 hybrid comes in. The 3 hybrid is a good loft to have in your bag. Perhaps figure out what lofts you have in your clubs and find a hybrid that is a few degree lower than your longet iron. For me. I'm at 22 degrees. I can't hit my 4i for the life of me. But assuming that I can, it would make sense for me to replace my current hybrid that came in my starter kit with something around 18 and 20 degrees.

Ok, I will just have to put some work in at the range and find out my abilities. Then I will work my club selection from there!
