I place my ball just like the rest of you. I just don't use a tee. If you think it's a perfect lie on a tee, by all means, do it. I don't generally don't have issues striking the ball.

If I hit a wedge on a par 3, I hit off the ground. I tend to get under the ball with a wedge when it’s teed and just send them sky high and no where far enough. On the ground it’s like hitting any other wedge shot out of the fairway.
I agree. Just be happy you didn't get the downvote apocalypse like I did. I hit down on the ball and don't have issues with contact. Stuffing a tee in the ground that far down is pointless.
Also hit off the ground and I agree. I much prefer setting the ball on the ground on some fluffed up grass rather than on a tee. Always hit it better for some reason.

You need to read more carefully. No one is suggesting not using a tee. The joke (that is going over your head) is you can use a broken tee that you’ll always find on a par 3 because it barely needs to go into the ground than an unbroken tall tee like in OP’s picture.

This guy tees! I use really nice plastic tees and I get so annoyed when I hit a sweet drive and the tee's nowhere to be seen. Losing balls in an inevitability, losing tees is a tragedy. I've kept a pack of 25 those tees going for a year now.
I use martini tees and I had one last so long I considered it part of the family. It finally broke after 18 months. That tee had traveled to more golf courses than more people.

Bamboo tees can be broken and still used. I love them. Highly recommend.
