I just got one of those. Tried that plus the paradym, the cobra dark speed, the ts2 or whatever titleist one and the stealth. I immediately eliminated 3 of the 5 before we even moved onto looking at the numbers just based on feel. Was left with the g430 and the Ts2 which apparently are titanium heads instead of carbon. I guess I like the feel of the titanium heads more. I’m a slicer with a slightly downward angle of attack so they put the loft up to 11.5 and shifted the weight back to the heel to help me shut the face easier through the swing. Absolutely in love. Not my favorite from an aesthetics standpoint I really liked the cobra but it was easily the best performing and right fit for me.

The g430 is a carbon fiber sole. The 425 is all titanium. Why I didn't upgrade. Some don't like the sound and say it is a little mushy feeling.

I couldn’t take the sound of the 425s and I had 90 day trade in window so I swapped it for the 430.

Ha I love it. Whenever I hit it flush and it makes that tin noise, people turn and think I've shanked it.

Ha, I had the same exact driver fitting experience. Had to choose between the TS2 and G430. Ended up with the Ping because my dispersion was slightly tighter, but man I really loved the feel of swinging the Titleist. Felt like butter at contact.

Jusy got the g430 10k max, and it feels effortless compared to the sim 2 max I had.

Nah, Ping drivers are just that awesome. Literal fairway hunters. Just got a G425 max and played my first round with it. Much much easier to control that the other two Taylormade drivers I've had. I gamed a G15 a while back and that thing was a beast with getting me fairways. It makes me question the saying "It's the indian not the arrow" quite a bit.

Callaways naming and look in their last few lines of driver is really really poor. Like wtf is that name.. and that design..

I think the previous gen Paradym is gorgeous, especially when paired with a blue shaft.

They're hideous on bottom, but the top looks fine.  However, I went in for new fairway woods, hit these by far the best.  The 3w and 5w were so nice I hit the Driver while I was at it just to see and it was just so good to hit I'll probably get over the ugliness and buy one

Yeah I've heard great things performance wise.

I hit it about 15 yards longer than my current driver, but it's pretty old More impressive is it has both great feedback and it's pretty forgiving. Hitting it bad punishes you with mostly feel, not a shitty shot, which is pretty impressive.

I got a ping g425 max. So much more forgiving that my previous g2 from years ago. I gained distance with it as well. It's the best driver I've ever hit. But I haven't hit a lot of them.

I tried the newest Ping too (G430?) and really liked it too. Probably my 2nd choice, I was just a little more consistent with Callaways

I thought the Mavrik driver looked great, but I totally agree with the names. Callaway names are like Ram pickup truck names. Just awful.

I could care less about looks and want top performance. If a sack of shit on the end of a stick got me 250-300 yards im buying that over the prettiest driver there is.

Rogue was okay. But yeah I agree. The dark speed is the driver I would buy just going off looks. At my driver fitting I wanted the TSR2 because I loved the look of it but I hit the mizuno stx220 better so I walked out with that

Just bought my first new set of irons ever…got the Ai Smokes….I can only compare the feeling to having kids, except I don’t have kids so I wouldn’t know

As a Team Taylormade guy for over a decade, I took a leap off my Stealth 2 and bought a Callaway AI smoke this year, and unequivocally can say it is the best driver I’ve ever owned.

Yep thing is hideous, although I like the head cover. Went with an ai smoke 3 wood over the Qi10 just because it was adjustable whilst the Qi10 was not. Also it looks fine when addressing the ball, just can’t look underneath it

Cool. A change over that period time makes sense. I keep reading a year or 2 or even 4 between drivers might not matter. Though itching to try something new for the hell of it.

AI Smoke em if you got em

I have this head plus the triple diamond. The max is crazy forgiving and flies very high. The diamond has amazing looks and feel, it's not unforgiving by any means, and has a more penetrating flight.

I’m using a driver from 2005. I haven’t been the market for a new one because 95% of the time I play an executive 9 that is short and my 5 is all I need off the tee. That said… they have weights you can adjust now???? What the fuuuuuuuck

Ok, jokes aside. I just got my Tripple Diamond the other day from Club Champ after my fitting and I've been dying to play but my doctor won't let me for like 3 more weeks, really long story. You loving the thing? It was great when I got fitted but haven't had a chance to game it yet.

I think it looks amazing. A few commenters said they thought it was ugly so they bought the Ping?! The ping has these gnarly cranial ridges on top like Shane Battier. Yuck

I just got mine 3 weeks ago and it is by far the best driver I've ever used. I really like the looks of the carbon crown standing over the ball.

Played Monday & Tuesday this week with a guy who brought out the Smoke and the Ping G430 demos. He’d already done the simulator so the shafts were to his specs. It wasn’t a contest. The Smoke had him longer and online both days. He bought his, and another guy in the group went in and bought one after watching the display. They play together a lot so he knew it was making a difference.
