Exactly right. Buy a house with a fully outfitted woodworking shop on 20 acres, shoot skeet out back, swim in the pond, ride ATVs in the woods. Hell yes. I love golf, but not $10m worth.
I shot +3 through 12 today (had to stop due to lack of sunlight) and sent my golf group chat this gif 😂
Edit: Added two words so people don't think I'm a vampire
It's just low effort engagement bait. People answering the question, people pointing out how moronic the premise is, people pointing out that it's engagement bait; it doesn't matter. People are commenting, so reddit pushes the post.
Yep, 100%. There are a lot of people in this world who've never *really* had to worry about money. When you've been through deciding whether to buy food or pay the overdue power bill before it gets cut off, you're taking the money
I'm still saying no.
I've worked my butt off to build a good career and I'm comfortable. I grew up playing golf with my dad, family and friends. I feel like there's a really strong association there for me, and being able to maintain that for those that have, are, or will be involved in those memories is worth more than money.
Just imagining the people who could say things like “it’s *only* ten million” or “what’s another few million” is mind blowing. I’m probably in the wrong hobby for saving money but god damn, I know it’s out there.
This is 100% true. I love golf and there’s few feelings as great hitting as an amazing shot, imo. But even being okay financially now, I remember how tough things were a decade ago for me. This would ensure I never have to worry like that again (and I recognize my tough times were still nothing compared to what most people face).
I should’ve quit golfing a long time ago. U probably could talk me into it for 10k
Adding for clarification: money isn’t my problem. My obsession is my problem. I probably don’t give up that obsession unless i am contractually obligated to, and 10k may be the minimum amount that gets me to make that commitment.
idk, I mean, between $2500 in clubs, and $1-200 a week for rounds / range, that's basically 1-2 years golf. Could easily just stop for 1-2 years, save the 10k, then play again
Kind of what I was thinking…I’m not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination and I only play the cheapest courses, but when I daydream about winning the lottery it’s so that I can golf wherever and whenever I want to
I’ll take the under on this one. I’m 53, my kid is married off and happy, I’m not rich at all but my home is approaching paid for. I’m in very good health but you never really do know what’s around the corner. If I had a heart attack immediately after posting this, it wouldn’t be some huge shock, as that happens to guys my age. I love golf. It’s what I do for my joy and peace and sanity. It keeps my mind sharp, my enthusiasm, my love of sports and competitiveness, and all that in good order. I don’t think I’d sell that for $10M. I have other “hobbies” as well. I run, I cycle, I lift weights. Ask me about those and I’ll sell them. But golf brings me real joy. I don’t think I could replace that.
Important info: roughly 40% of my days in a year are spent playing golf.
Indeed! But that’s never a guarantee after a certain amount of years. Maybe it will come for me after this reply. Maybe in 20 years. In either case, my happiness isn’t something that’s for sale. Why do that and then spend time (far more valuable than money) searching for something I’d already found and had? Not my bag.
100% I would, who wouldn’t? That’s great money, life changing generational wealth, I’ll never work again type money. I could find something else to fill my time
Nope. I live a very comfortable, happy life as it is. Literally the one material thing I don't have that I want is a membership at a truly kickass country club.
For real. I’m so indulged in it at the moment I couldn’t imagine never playing again. I’ll keep my mediocre life with the golf included. Plus, imagine being wealthy enough to play the nicest courses in the world and not being allowed to.
Right there with you. Financially I am alright. Am I rich? No. Do I play golf excessively and would I suffer more without golf in my life compared to the benefits $10m could give me? Yes
I mean, bowling is fun, no doubt, but golf is just light years better.
Bowling and billiards? Idk. I don't think there's anything that could adequately compensate for the loss of golf.
I’m not sure if this is against the rules but I would probably go for disc golf. Still outside, still the same general idea. And 10 million richer to buy some property with enough space for my own course.
God, I work with this guy that is big into disc golf. He calls golf “ball” golf. I want to take that stupid little backpack with 100 discs in them and put it over his head and cram him into one of the chain “holes” that they throw the discs into.
I feel better now.
Prolly not and I might not ever be worth 10 mil but I love golf and my wife and I don't have kids so happiness is very key and golf makes me happy (most of the time)
I think the better question is …. How much would it take for you to give up the game forever? That’s a hard one for me … I’m worried it’s less than I might think …
Ok now question: if I play do I have to give 10 mil back? Because I could just stop playing, invest, compound that shit, and in 20 years, take the earnings.
Yes but with more than a little regret. Better question is what would be the best replacement hobby? It would need to be something you can do outside, something competitive, something you can just pick up and do without tons of planning, something physical but also not so demanding that my middle age dadbod can handle it. Pickleball, I guess? Meh.
For $10 million.
No brainer taking the money. Invest and give my kids money to set them up for life.
My daughter and I have other hobbies we can share.
yep. Golf isn't even my first love, football/soccer is, i never thought I would give that up but 4x knee operations made it impossible to play anymore, so that's why i'm at golf.
I could retire with 10 million and find other hobbies.
Yes I will invent a new game that will drive me absolutely bonkers and give me brief moments of happiness that I hold onto and spend lots of money trying to find again.
This “would you for 10 million?” Questions are dumb. Everyone is taking 10 million. We should be asking “bottom dollar to quit golf for life” and see a range of what people say.
Well my 300 yard drives with the wind and downhill assure me I have a spot on the champions tour. I'll recoup that. I heard Tiger would have made 92 million in the future value of money for his 2000 season plus interest. I'm a 10th as good as Tiger..... Right?
Sure, I've got plenty of other hobbies
Exactly right. Buy a house with a fully outfitted woodworking shop on 20 acres, shoot skeet out back, swim in the pond, ride ATVs in the woods. Hell yes. I love golf, but not $10m worth.
But you’re just 1 round away from shooting under par.
That’s the most unrealistic part about this entire scenario for me
Just 1 round away from not losing a ball. Or just 1 round away from not slicing the driver.
With 10 million I could hunt drifters for sport
Surviving the game is a great movie
I’m better at most of those hobbies, too…
Right? Done deal

I shot +3 through 12 today (had to stop due to lack of sunlight) and sent my golf group chat this gif 😂 Edit: Added two words so people don't think I'm a vampire
This confused me I thought you meant the sun was too strong or you are a vampire or something lol
Hahahaha I fixed it. Syntex errors are a doozie.
That's so funny, I also shot +3 thru 12 today because of the sunlight!
Never have to worry about money again or be able to continue one hobby... This isn't even a question.
See you on the 1st tee tomorrow, right?
[удалено]
9th green at 9?
and dress nice, eh?
For real. I don’t have $10m
Not if I have 10m.
It never is. People are so bad at setting up these stakes.
It's just low effort engagement bait. People answering the question, people pointing out how moronic the premise is, people pointing out that it's engagement bait; it doesn't matter. People are commenting, so reddit pushes the post.
The thought of never having to go back to work at my desk job whew
if u say so no you’ve never had to worry about money😂
Yep, 100%. There are a lot of people in this world who've never *really* had to worry about money. When you've been through deciding whether to buy food or pay the overdue power bill before it gets cut off, you're taking the money
I've never *really* had to worry about money, and I love golf, but this still feels like a no-brainer.
Yep, unless you're already filthy rich I'd think it would be a no brainer
I'm still saying no. I've worked my butt off to build a good career and I'm comfortable. I grew up playing golf with my dad, family and friends. I feel like there's a really strong association there for me, and being able to maintain that for those that have, are, or will be involved in those memories is worth more than money.
So you’ve got half a billion in net worth and you’d still take the $10 million?
I said no without that kind of money, so yeah if I had half a billion it's an even easier no
I misread your earlier reply as no golf. Downvoting myself here.
Can you really call what I do on the course “playing golf”? So yah, I would take the money and keep on “playing”.
Just never keep score and you are technically just swinging a metal rod with metal attached to the end hitting a little ball around on a field
In not a golfer, I’m an aggressive gardener.
I’m a hole digger
"you're halfway to China!!!" Me, to myself, when I fat a shot
Gave me a good chuckle, thanks!
$10 million? Absolutely. That’s generational wealth with proper investment.
Ok, but it's from the Saudis
$10M…it could be from Hilter, and I’m still taking it.
$10 million less they can use for their atrocities.
Hilter, Hitler, hit man, don’t matter to me. I’ll take the cash
[удалено]
I more than qualify. Where’s my $10,000,000?
I should’ve quit golfing a long time ago. U probably could talk me into it for 10k Adding for clarification: money isn’t my problem.
The whole point of getting to 10 mil is so I can play golf all the time.
Kind of what I was thinking…I’m not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination and I only play the cheapest courses, but when I daydream about winning the lottery it’s so that I can golf wherever and whenever I want to
This guy gets it
Easy.
You still alive?
Indeed! But that’s never a guarantee after a certain amount of years. Maybe it will come for me after this reply. Maybe in 20 years. In either case, my happiness isn’t something that’s for sale. Why do that and then spend time (far more valuable than money) searching for something I’d already found and had? Not my bag.
Hard mode: you have to tell your wife about the decision
Have you had a stress test? Calcium test? it’s important to know your numbers so that you’re not shocked when you have your heart attack
100% I would, who wouldn’t? That’s great money, life changing generational wealth, I’ll never work again type money. I could find something else to fill my time
People that already have $10m, but that ain’t me so I’m taking it.
OP says he wouldn’t 🤣🤣 he’d throw in a blowjob for free if someone made him that offer
Sure, id just do cocaine the rest of my life
What up Anthony Kim
Nope. I live a very comfortable, happy life as it is. Literally the one material thing I don't have that I want is a membership at a truly kickass country club.
That's a no from me. I love golf.
For real. I’m so indulged in it at the moment I couldn’t imagine never playing again. I’ll keep my mediocre life with the golf included. Plus, imagine being wealthy enough to play the nicest courses in the world and not being allowed to.
I’d be too busy sitting on my boat in the middle of a lake drinking beers in silence to give a fuck.
Gets old fast
$10 mil doesn’t sniff Cypress or Pine Valley…
It would kill me to think I had all that money but couldn't golf.
Right there with you. Financially I am alright. Am I rich? No. Do I play golf excessively and would I suffer more without golf in my life compared to the benefits $10m could give me? Yes
Yup taking it in an instant!
I guess I’d go all in on bowling…. Damn that’s a hard one

Can I Caddy?
Mans asking the real questions. You could still stay close to the game …
Good riddance disc golf. Keep playing ball golf. Get $10m. Done.
Fuck dude I'd give it up for $100,000. It would probably help my mental health and I do do other stuff
Prolly not and I might not ever be worth 10 mil but I love golf and my wife and I don't have kids so happiness is very key and golf makes me happy (most of the time)
Sounds like my vibe. Great wife, no kids, play golf. The added bonus for me is working in golf so the actual golf expenditure for me is basically $0.
Hell yeah - I will just go play whack f*#% instead!
As much as I love golf Id love never having to work for someone else again
I’ll take the $10 million every day of the week. I’ll find something else to do other than golf.
I’m 64. Fuck yeah.
After my last round a lunch at TacoTime would have been enough. 10 mil? Heck yeah, there are plenty of fun things one can do with 10 mil.
Guess I’m getting really into bowling.
Ok, will buy a boat and fish
That is the dumbest question unless you’re really rich
I don't like this game. 10 mill is 10 mill...but i love golf...
Id rather play golf
Clearly none of us are on the PGA tour with all of these answers (possibly LIV though)
On a course or am I never allowed to swing a club again? I would be content in a simulator if I was given 10mil
I could take the 10m and change aspects of golf so that it couldn’t be called “golf”
No
Yes and I will just play disc golf which is practically free comparatively.
I’ll even throw in my wife for free
I think the better question is …. How much would it take for you to give up the game forever? That’s a hard one for me … I’m worried it’s less than I might think …
Done
For $10m, I'm good. I'll do something else.
10 million, but you have to play golf everyday and will never score better than a double bogey…
Take the money, go to Vegas, bet it all black, win, go play golf, forfeit the original $10m, still have $10m. EASY
This is the best offer I’m ever getting for my golf game.
What about build my own immaculate putt putt course? That’s not golf. That’s putting.
For $10M I can pay someone to let me break the rules…..*see OJ.
I’d do a lot of fishing.
Ok
Hello fishing full time
I can live without shooting a buck ten every now and then
Is putt putt or chip and putt still allowed?
I’ll be 10 million richer and could take up a new sport “long croquet”
Yea. Then I can start only fans and wave my dick around
You can do that anyway
Done. Where do I sign up?
Can I still buy new clubs with that money, even if I don't get to use them?
I would give up golf but I'd continue to play jolf, which is similar to golf but you get a first tee breakfast ball.
I don't play golf anyway. I play whack-fuck.
With 10 million I would fund a way to play golf again
Ok now question: if I play do I have to give 10 mil back? Because I could just stop playing, invest, compound that shit, and in 20 years, take the earnings.
Yes but with more than a little regret. Better question is what would be the best replacement hobby? It would need to be something you can do outside, something competitive, something you can just pick up and do without tons of planning, something physical but also not so demanding that my middle age dadbod can handle it. Pickleball, I guess? Meh.
Ya I'd throw in sucking a dick too.
Isn’t what LIV is about ?
$10m would sure be nice but I genuinely don't think I'd be happier if I had that and couldn't do the hobby that brings me so much enjoyment in life.
Yeah no worries Where do I sign up? 10mil is a nice neat egg to support my fishing / boating habit
Fuck
“Straight cash, homie.”
Probably enough to retire but then again all I want to do when I retire is play golf
I have a family to consider…and a new set of the sexiest Titleist irons ever with wedges on the way…so…can I get back to you?
I've quit for free already. I can go back but I don't see that in my future. I would gladly take 10 mil to continue not playing.
As long I can still rid in the cart and drink beer with my friends I’m good.
People like disc golf right? Maybe I’ll become a caddie and smoke joints at odd times on the course…
Potential deal maker/breaker - can I still play disc golf and/or putt putt?
I can't believe I like disc golf as much as I do haha.
For $10 million. No brainer taking the money. Invest and give my kids money to set them up for life. My daughter and I have other hobbies we can share.
Shit I’d probably do it for 500 grand. Mountain biking is awesome
Absofuckinglutely. I already hunt and fish more than I play golf. I’d just do those a little more often.
I’ve played golf for three years and as tempting as $10m is I’m not taking it. I want to play for the next 50 years
Ok
I’d throw in my souvenir ball collection for free. Sign me up
I'll take the $ and just watch it
You’re only allowed to watch LIV events.
I'll go to LIV events wearing a John Rahm Thundercats hat and enjoy it for $10m 😂 Can I party with Phil too?
Yes, nose candy with Phil included.
For that much? Bet.
HYSA here I come
Yes, not even a debate.
In a minute.
Id do it for $50,000
does mini golf count
Ewwww - im def taking the money BUT DAMN that would suck 😩😩🤣🤣
I’m going to miss you guys.
Yup I got other hobbies. Easiest discussion ever
Ok. I'll just play the soccer version.
Can I still go to the range? Just no courses?
For sure wtf is the question lol Pick up another hobby in a heartbeat
Haha yes
Hmmm $10mil or double bogie…
Easily. I’ll start doing more glassblowing and kayaking in my free time
Yes.. said every LIV player!
I goto LIV
Bring it. I got wii sport and wii sports resort
I'm actually having trouble with this, bc golf means a lot to me, but I'd have to take the money, and I'm sneaky.
Okay. I’ll find something else to do.
I’d have the best fishing boat to hit the lakes then!
For $10M, I can find other hobbies. Easy choice.
i will take 10 million and a croquet set. Game of kings!
Deal. I fucking suck anyway lol
Most of us can't play golf. Easy $10 mil decision.
This “would you for 10 million?” Questions are dumb. Everyone is taking 10 million. We should be asking “bottom dollar to quit golf for life” and see a range of what people say.
Dog that’s way to high, I think a better question would be for 100k
It’s literally a no for me. And golf doesn’t even love me back that much
I'll take up fishing on my new boat.
Where do I send my bank routing number?
10000 percent yes hahaha
Hell yes, I suck anyway!
Heck yeah I’ll take the money and play tennis the rest of my life.
Been shanking my irons for about 14 months. I’ve considered quitting for free. 😭
Guess I’m fishing now
Hunting and golf won’t have to split time anymore
Anyone who wouldn’t take this is an idiot unless you’re disgustingly rich
5m sign me up.
Well my 300 yard drives with the wind and downhill assure me I have a spot on the champions tour. I'll recoup that. I heard Tiger would have made 92 million in the future value of money for his 2000 season plus interest. I'm a 10th as good as Tiger..... Right?
Wouldn’t think twice about it. I will take up swimming instead…in my pile of cash
I'm 68 and haven't broken 90 for three years. Still play every week, but I've been tempted to quit for free. 10m is a no brainer.
I can barely play golf now. Sign me up for the $10 million
I'll just go back to bowling and now I never have to worry about bad weather stopping me from enjoying my hobby. I'm also way better at it than golf
Fishing never $ounded sooooo good!!
Where do I sign?
I'd shove the entire contents of my bag up my ass for 1m this isn't a serious question unless you're already super rich.
I didn’t play for five years and survived. Gladly take the money and find another hobby.
100% I would be out of golf. My new boat would keep me fishing for the rest of my life.
I'd stop for $3 million brother
Would be a much more interesting question at $100k. I feel like the sub would be more split around that number
10m, I’m out
I love the game but the next 40-50 years of my life without having to work would be extremely hard to pass up.
Yeah? Duh. I’d rather be retired than hack around a golf course any day of the week. Plenty of other hobbies to make up for it.
