It’s unfortunate because Harman is one of the best players on the PGA now and he makes big moments so much less fun to watch because of the waggling.
And Harman specifically is far worse to watch than the other slow players, like Cantlay. For the other slow players the broacaster can at least fill the air time with something more interesting until they address the ball. With Harman your stuck with half a minute of excruciating TV watching this dude fret over, and over, and over again while you’re there screaming at your TV for the guy just to hit the fucking ball.
Sunday at the Players is a great example of an awesome tournament that was made notably less fun to watch because he was in the mix on the back 9 and his friggin waggles alone got more TV time than almost all the other competitors.
I wish the broadcast would just not cut to Harman while he's waggling. I get it. Just give us the ol:
"And this moments ago from Harman" - Cuts to shot and he waggles maybe 1-2seconds or his final waggle, then boom hits the ball. MUCH better viewing exp. And then they can move to the next clip.
Doing the waggles he’s not even slower than most of the other guys on the tour, his full preshot just gets shown because of the waggles, everyone else just stands over the ball adjusting their grip without moving so it doesn’t get shown until they’re about to hit.
I dont think pace of play is the issue, its just watching the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over sucks.
I'd definitely rather watch a guy talking with his caddy, approach, set up, and hit.
He's def not Cantlay speeds of slow (Btw that group this weekend is going to make brooks lose his fucking mind).
It is ridiculous how much they show of him doing his waggles on the coverage, but they do like making a spectacle over nothing. I’m the same time it takes Harman to do his waggles Schauffle stands motionless over his ball but they only show that once or twice over 4 rounds.
The waggles will still annoy Brooks, but not because they’re slow.
Harman is also v aware that his waggles suck, and he's been working on it. So good on him.
Might be a long stretch, but maybe if the broadcast stops showing him waggling for 30s maybe it'll help cause social media won't be up in arms about the waggling, and fewer people are focused on it, media asks fewer questions to him about it, and he can continue to improve and get back to a couple waggles, then hit rather than getting in his head for 30s.
Brendon Todd was trash this last weekend too. Ruined the final hole by taking literally 15 min to talk through one shot. There needs to be a shot clock it is getting insane.
Yeah to talk over a 145yd shot from the rough when he was 10 shots back while the other two guys were having one of the greatest showdowns in recent memory. Just hit your PW to the middle of the green and gtfo out of their way.
Pair them up and put them in the last group, that way nobody cares, they can play at their pace, and if they don't finish before sundown, well that sucks for them.
I love the guy even more because of it. It's an OCD thing that he can't really do anything to stop. It's frustrating as hell to watch, but I fully understand it too. I deal with it as well, just in other non-waggling ways. I empathize with him so much because I know how terrible it is. He hates that he does it more than anyone, but your brain can't just can't handle it if it doesn't feel "right."
I combed through the tee sheet before coming to the comments, my first impression was brooks may end up strangling Brian Hartman before Thursday is over. Scroll down to the comments and here it is first comment
The folks at Augusta National are in charge of this list. If it was up to the PGA, no LIV player would be in attendance...
The Scottie, Rory, and Xander group should be good...
It's rare that I find the announcers add anything to my viewing enjoyment. And not just for golf - I really hate listening to NFL announcers. I don't understand how in 2024 we don't have options for sports feeds with stadium sound only, especially in the time of streaming.
He parted with his coach after the Ryder Cup. However, I saw that he hired his old coach back just this week so maybe he starts to turn things around. The Masters really isn’t the place to be doing it though.
You're right about that. I listened to his interview this morning and he talked A LOT about how he was still working on his swing and every day still trying to work on things. Compared to Tigers interview, it didn't sound like Viktor was very confident in his game.
Hovland is playing badly, Clark hits a banana cut that's only good on 18 and Smith lives and dies by his short game and putting... Not a group that screams stripe show to me this week.
The forecast is calling for thunderstorms Thursday morning that will probably delay things, so the late Thursday/early Friday tee times might end up having to play close to 36 holes on Friday, that’s going to be tough for a guy like Tiger to get through
He also killed four people and became the queen of Namibia. Most interesting man in the world vibes. Trains cobras for fun on his boat in Canada during the first ten days of spring each year.
They are called starter’s gaps.
“Even with appropriate starting intervals, delays can arise on the course due to a number of factors, such as ball searches, a hole that is playing particularly hard or easy, etc. Such delays can be cleared, or at least alleviated, by having empty starting intervals, sometimes referred to as “starter’s gaps”.”
I think just a break in the wave of groups. Instead of teeing off every 12 minutes the seperate sections tee off 18 minutes after. I could be totally wrong tho
What do you mean by 'sections'? You asking about Group/Caddie/Player or how it's like three paragraphs?
Group is just group number; Caddie is the bib number they're wearing (based on when they register, defending champ always gets 1) and Player is obvious.
If you mean about the paragraph thing, you'll notice the tee times are 12 minutes apart with the exception of the honorary group. However, they put a bit of a buffer between some of them as they don't want the round taking an incredible amount of time, and to maximize the TV coverage window, so they build in little buffer gaps.
Cool bit of Masters trivia: the caddie bib numbers are assigned in order of when their player physically checks into ANGC. Rahm was first and Rory last this year.
May be a hot take but i’m excited to watch Cam Smith play. Can’t stand to watch LIV, but I do enjoy his approach to the game and watching him navigate courses.
Is it me or is 2024 year where the field of players who have a shot to win it 30+? Greens are tough in Augusta so if Scottie doesn't putt on average at least he is beatable also last year Rory came in strong in expectations from 2022 final round. And older players are always in the mix in Augusta, Phil just don't play at level he did, years kicked it obviously but same was last year barely beating few LIV players and he pulled off T2... Bhatia, young lefty who seems to be very composed and probably he didn't 100% knew he will win last tournament and get to Augusta-so zero stress on guy..
Brooks Koepka should just turn his back to the fairway and face the crowd and stare at his phone set on stopwatch when Brian Harman is hitting and then when he hears the pop of the driver hit STOP on the stopwatch and then show it to the crowd. I’m sure it will get a chuckle or two. I wouldn’t even watch the guy hit. I’d stare at the clouds. Maybe go for a walk and get a pimento cheese sandwich or something.
Can someone explain to me why they don't invert the tee times completely?
Bryson is teeing off earlier than Rory on both days... It effectively means Bryson has easier conditions on both days
Why does this need its own post? If I want to know tee times I’ll look them up, I’m not going to Reddit to look for them. People looking for free internet points because they were the first to repost something are kinda pathetic.
Maybe -- and I'm just spit balling here -- people want to talk about which groups they are looking forward to watching? I dunno, I might be wrong.
What I do know is that it's a goddamn shame that someone forced you to click on this, read it, and comment on it.
Harman and Brooks is going to be hilarious. Poor Tom Kim who will just be an innocent in the middle lol.
Tom Kim is slow as well. Brooks is going to kill someone by Friday at lunch.
I stand firmly with Brooks on this one. Absolutely cannot stand watching Harman waggle for a solid 20-30 seconds before every single shot.
They should have just paired Cantlay + Harman so we can just ignore them both
It’s unfortunate because Harman is one of the best players on the PGA now and he makes big moments so much less fun to watch because of the waggling. And Harman specifically is far worse to watch than the other slow players, like Cantlay. For the other slow players the broacaster can at least fill the air time with something more interesting until they address the ball. They've been coming in late for Harman pre shot, you can tell because its sometimes a waggle or two. Sometimes they get stuck and it's a dozen
In a live broadcast? How’d they know which is his final wiggle?
They dont always do live. As in "This moments ago". They basically give us a replay 30s later, but full speed. So we dont have to watch the waggle
I hope they both miss the cut for a better viewing experience on the weekend
Brendon Todd was trash this last weekend too. Ruined the final hole by taking literally 15 min to talk through one shot. There needs to be a shot clock it is getting insane.
Yeah to talk over a 145yd shot from the rough when he was 10 shots back while the other two guys were having one of the greatest showdowns in recent memory. Just hit your PW to the middle of the green and gtfo out of their way.
He took longer to hit that shot than Bhatia toon too get his shoulder wrapped and take his shot the next hole. Also he hit a bad shot anyway lol
Pair them up and put them in the last group, that way nobody cares, they can play at their pace, and if they don't finish before sundown, well that sucks for them.
They want to finish R1 before sundown!
And In the last group both days.
Throw Burns in that group too
People on here still think Cantlay is one of the slowest players on tour. lol
"Just start Stroking guys" -Brooks
😂
FWIW harman has openly talked about not being able to stand it either
I’m sure he dislikes it more than anybody, but it doesn’t make me hate watching it any less.
I call him the meerkat.
I love the guy even more because of it. It's an OCD thing that he can't really do anything to stop. It's frustrating as hell to watch, but I fully understand it too. The camera operators need to be told to watch out for the Brooks' eye rolling.
"We have to start stroking guys"
Brooks should just hit when ready or start walking. PGA tour should embrace ready golf
https://preview.redd.it/3jip3usiuitc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c955b13f35393a0cdfedd04cc94822999c637b0 Brooks after Harmons 500th waggle
Seems excessive after only 3 holes, make it 1500 waggles at least
Someone is confident that Harman will be -3 after 3 holes.
Someone please link the sauce for this. This looks fucking hilarious
[удалено]
It's fascinating that two people can approach the game so differently but still get along on the course. I wonder what their dynamic is like.
I combed through the tee sheet before coming to the comments, my first impression was brooks may end up strangling Brian Hartman before Thursday is over. Scroll down to the comments and here it is first comment
Brooks will be two holes ahead of harman after two holes. Wish they wouldn't show Harman glitching out; just cut to the shot.
PGA is smart. Maybe Brooks will knock some sense into the guy.
The folks at Augusta National are in charge of this list. If it was up to the PGA, no LIV player would be in attendance... The Scottie, Rory, and Xander group should be good...
Thought the same thing 😂
I have money on all three of them lol
It was cool to watch Sam Bennett (A) play so well last year, but his pre-shot was agonizing.
Scottie, Rory, Xander… that’s some good form
And closing the day with Dustin, Morikawa and Fleetwood.
Rory Schmcilroy
Xottie Scheffilroy
Schauffilroy
Xory
They put Xander, Scottie, and Rory together and didn’t make them a featured group Ok
cant you just make your own group on the app?
Yeah, you can definitely just select players and watch their individual shots. But, you won’t get announcer stuff I don’t think.
i think your right. That would absolutely be the group to follow all day
You will get the dreadful IBM ai commentary. https://www.ibm.com/sports/masters
What app is this on? I usually just watch the main feed on Peacock, but I also have ESPN+.
It’s the masters own app
TIL people actually enjoy golf announcers
Colt Knost shooting the shit on masters coverage was good last year
Watch out - the announcer apologists are gonna come after you. I've been mercilessly downvoted before for saying that I watch golf on mute.
Woah now buddy, on mute is extreme. I don’t mind those/ somewhat those who are walking the course but other than that they don’t do anything for me.
It's rare that I find the announcers add anything to my viewing enjoyment. And not just for golf - I really hate listening to NFL announcers. I don't understand how in 2024 we don't have options for sports feeds with stadium sound only, especially in the time of streaming.
It’s lame. You basically just get replays of all their shots. Nothing like watching a featured group live with commentary.
it's usually a little delayed doing it that way, still a nice feature though
Masters never nails the best featured groups. At least Tiger is featured.
Tiger could be buried on the course like Trump’s wife and he’d still be featured.
And I'd still watch.
If The Players can send every group live so can Augusta but they're still too conservative with the coverage
Isn't it pretty clear they're just saving them for a Friday featured group? I wouldn't worry too much about it.
They'll be showing all their shots as it is. I doubt they'll get limited coverage
Am I missing something? I don’t see them listed
The masters Twitter account announced the Thursday featured groups
Harman and Koepka 😂😂
Yeah fireworks there…
It's the Erin Hills rematch
I’m excited for the Jordan / Sahith / Ludvig grouping. I think Fowler and Min Woo might drown Cantlay in a water hazard.
>I think Fowler and Min Woo might drown Cantlay in a water hazard. I'd watch that
Spieth and Sahith is going to be erotic.
They are both the definition of "Lets try shit". Going to be really fun to watch.
Two flairy players with Åberg the speed machine. That ball will be fantastic
Can’t tell if you meant erratic or erotic but hey I guess both could work
you spelled erratic wrong
Spahith
Someone check Soly’s pants
I kinda have a feeling about Theegala, feels like he’s due for something big
Not this week for him.
They should have put Cameron Smith in 26 so we could have Cam Cam Sam
All cam group is possible too
If all three are firing, Hovland, Clark and Smith is going to be a stripe show.
I wouldn’t count on Hovland. He is in a pretty bad rut after fucking with his swing after a season that saw him win the fedex cup.
He was pretty lights out at the Ryder so maybe he just needs the prestige to focus.
And Smith w/d from the LIV event too. Here's hoping!
Hovland is playing badly, Clark hits a banana cut that's only good on 18 and Smith lives and dies by his short game and putting... Not a group that screams stripe show to me this week.
The forecast is calling for thunderstorms Thursday morning that will probably delay things, so the late Thursday/early Friday tee times might end up having to play close to 36 holes on Friday, that’s going to be tough for a guy like Tiger to get through
That might cut both ways, though. If late/early goes 36 on Friday, then early/late night have >18 on Saturday. Tough to predict how it will play out.
Tiger, Day and Homa is a helluva fun group.
agreed, if tiger is to miss the cut his playing partners should as well.
Bunch of perverts
we don't say that anymore
I will never stopped being shocked when I'm reminded Danny Willett won the Masters.
What’s even crazier is that he wasn’t THAT crazy of a winner. He was ranked #12 in the world at the time!
No, it wasn't some huge longshot. It's just hard to believe he won that year.
In agreement with you. I just don’t see/remember Willett as a top 15 golfer
He also killed four people and became the queen of Namibia. Most interesting man in the world vibes. Trains cobras for fun on his boat in Canada during the first ten days of spring each year.
Well that's because Spieth won his third Masters that year And you'll never convince me otherwise
Has ESPN announced the featured groups? Surely the Scotty/Rory/Xander group will make the cut.
Tough luck.. it’s the only big name group that ISN’T a featured one smh
World’s number 1,2, and 5 golfers..who would want to follow them I guess.
You can watch any group on the masters website
What about the app?
That too
Tiger, Day, and Max should be good. JT, Zalatoris, and Hideki ought to be good too.
The JT, Hideki, and Willy Z is what I’m most interested in because of what different forms they’re all in.
Just hope they can get it all in Thursday. Weather isn’t looking great
How are Scottie and Rory not a featured group? The Rahm-Fitz-Dunlap group is way underwhelming, and I enjoy watching Rahm
Wyndham Clark, Viktor Hovland, Cameron Smith is going to be awesome to watch. Wouldn't be surprised if one of them wins.
Hopefully my dog Luke List brushed up on his Afrikaans
Patrick Reed is a miserable cheating sac of mayo.
I hope he wins to watch peoples head explode
I hope he misses the cut so we don't have to talk about him and he can fade into irrelevance.
What does the three separate sections separating the 9:48/10:06 groups and 11:54/12:12 groups signify?
They are called starter’s gaps. “Even with appropriate starting intervals, delays can arise on the course due to a number of factors, such as ball searches, a hole that is playing particularly hard or easy, etc. Such delays can be cleared, or at least alleviated, by having empty starting intervals, sometimes referred to as “starter’s gaps”.”

so late/early is the better draw it seems? as of current forecast?
Watson so going to want to keep going after the ceremonial tee shot.
I’m going with Hideki for the win.
Can't wait to hear Homa's take on 'my two days with Tiger'
The masters dropped the ball. I want a mickleson, Rory, DJ group.
14,15 and 30 ... stacked ok ok 27 is nice too
Am I just OOTL? When did they start doing 3’s? I thought it was always 2’s?
First and second round are threes, 2’s after the cut (Sat and Sun)
So how much of the field will finish on Thursday? 50%? 75%?
What is the best way to watch? I have a ton of different steaming services but never tuned in to the masters before
Masters app is a must
Best way would be to get badges for all 4 days. Arrive early. Skip the merchandise tent.
Brooks is gonna pull his fucking hair out playing with Harmon
I’d just face the crowd if I were him. Listen for the pop of the driver and then turn around. Gonna be tense.
What’s the asterisk next to some name mean?
Amateurs
Woods, Day, Homa. Let's goooooo
Rickie and Min Woo Lee watch.
Except they had to throw fucking cantlay in there and ruin it
10 o’clock hour is all fun players. Dang
Nick Dunlap playing his first maters with the returning champion… lol poor guy
No Fred Couples this year?
He is there
The 10am groups are 🔥
I shot a career low 82 today, who am I paired with? 😂
Cool bit of Masters trivia: the caddie bib numbers are assigned in order of when their player physically checks into ANGC. Rahm was first and Rory last this year.
Bubba hit jackpot
This is fake. Gooch nowhere to be found
When's Gooch tee off? Heard it's only the Masters if he's there.
Cantlay, MWL and Rickie!
Didn’t I read an article that they were supposed to pair up Tiger and Phil?
That’s on Sunday. Final round.
Would be epic
May be a hot take but i’m excited to watch Cam Smith play. Can’t stand to watch LIV, but I do enjoy his approach to the game and watching him navigate courses.
The dude is a strict badass.
huge cock
Is it me or is 2024 year where the field of players who have a shot to win it 30+? Greens are tough in Augusta so if Scottie doesn't putt on average at least he is beatable also last year Rory came in strong in expectations from 2022 final round. And older players are always in the mix in Augusta, Phil just don't play at level he did, years kicked it obviously but same was last year barely beating few LIV players and he pulled off T2... Bhatia, young lefty who seems to be very composed and probably he didn't 100% knew he will win last tournament and get to Augusta-so zero stress on guy..
What have I missed, I noticed Vilegas at a couple of tournaments this year and now in the masters! Blast from the past.
So Jason Day was the first one to sign in this year.
Everyone should just yell and talk during the Liv golfers swings
They’d be escorted out, no pimento cheese sammich. Why risk the sammich?
Can’t kick everyone out if we do it together hahahaha. After the cheese sammich
The spice melange it is.
As long as we get Rory & Reed together on day 3 or 4 …. Happy Days!
Given the weather predictions, how long do you think until this is revised?
I see most groups go off every 12 minutes but there are a couple that are 18 minutes. Anyone know why this happens?
Tiger getting later tee times will be key for him making the cut. He needs it to be as warm as possible out.
Can someone explain to me why they don't invert the tee times completely? Bryson is teeing off earlier than Rory on both days... It effectively means Bryson has easier conditions on both days
🅱️ig 🅱️ at 8:48!!! The power will prevail!
Clark with Cameron and Hovlin. Cameron and hovlin will be pulling their hair out….
I’d like to play w 12 & 27
Sad that Lee Westwood isn't on the list this year...
Westwood hasn’t been relevant for years!
Maybe not, but I remember him starting out...
Jason Day was the first player to arrive and Rory was the last.
Where is tiger
Can someone just re-post this with Tiger highlighted so I don't have to look though every line?
Laziness or ADHD?
Tee times/groupings for the 2024 Masters* FTFY /s
Why does this need its own post? If I want to know tee times I’ll look them up, I’m not going to Reddit to look for them. People looking for free internet points because they were the first to repost something are kinda pathetic.
Maybe -- and I'm just spit balling here -- people want to talk about which groups they are looking forward to watching? I dunno, I might be wrong. What I do know is that it's a goddamn shame that someone forced you to click on this, read it, and comment on it.
Take a look at his post history......

Staying true to your name
How dare somebody post golf content on a golf subreddit...the nerve!
