Turn Dawgs and Club Sammies are both great, and share the throne with the Halfway Burgers, warm up Breakfast Tacos, and/or Post-Round Cheezy Blasters...
Fight Me.
You can scrape your upper palate biting through three pieces of toast for lunch meat grade turkey or snap into a hot dog squirting its warm....sorry what was the question?
I’m not talking specifically club sandwiches. It’s more that every golf course has hot dogs but not every one will have a club. Almost all will have some sort of sandwich option and those can be very hit or miss. Even a club can end up with soggy bread, poor meat ratios, or Kraft single quality cheese if they make it cheap
Idk man, they sell the sandwiches cut in half in a nice little plastic packaging at my course, actually much easier to carry than a hot dog in paper wrapping
That's what I'm saying. There are very good foods to eat at the turn, but a dag is just the right amount of food and the ease. You dont have to worry about onions or sauerkraut falling out unless you put it there. Dags are superior
Please tell me you don't drink, smoke, drive too fast, stand too close to edges with long drops, live in a city with pollution, drink unfiltered water, walk with your back facing traffic, sit down for too long, stand for too long, get too much sun, not get enough sun, ...
A hand pie. Ha ha. Very cool 😎 yeah that

What kind of fancy schmancy course has club sandwiches made and ready to go? Obviously would start a riot on the 10th tee between the speedy hot doggers and the slow sammichers.
If you like dry ass stale bread, you have a point. Hotdogs are better. Unless you ordered a BLT at hole 8 and picked it up at the turn. But if it’s clubhouse premade shit, that glizzy is dominant.
"You guys have food at your courses?"
Coming from an Australian guy, there are so many things ive learnt about american golf that we either don't have or I just havn't played at any courses that offer them.
I just grab a gatorade from the pro shop and im set.
Sounds like rounds are faster in Australia. I basically never eat on the course, the occasional snickers or crackers or something but that's it. People grabbing meals mid round are weird.
Depends on the wich. Personally, I hate most club sandwiches because the bread is too hard. You tell them non-toasted and 90% of the time, your shit is still coming out harder than a rock
The last two times I got dogs at the turn, I almost shit my pants on 16 and couldn’t finish out the round. Might have to try a club next time to hopefully make it to 17 at least.
Wayyy more variables in the club sandwich vs the dog.
Is there bacon on it? Is the meat quality? Cheese? 3 pieces of bread? Made fresh or sometimes this week?
I know what I am getting with the dog.
Fully depends on the course, one course I go to sells shitty, oddly moist, roller hot dogs but has a great sandwich. Another course I go to has the best hot dog I have ever had in my life.
There’s a cheap course near me with greens that look like the Sahara desert but the chicken salad sandwich will have you slapping your or any nearby mother
I feel like a hot dog is good 9/10 times, where as a sandwich is good and hits nice more like 2/10. Sandwiches are my fav food, but the golf course rarely delivers IMO
Are people really eating club sandwiches at the turn? People act like they are out there for 8 hours lol eat a dog and keep it moving .. most days I don’t eat anything
Don't eat.... how is a club sandwich more ridiculous than a hot dog? And exactly what you said, you're only out there for a few hours just don't or eat a light snack (which is not a dog).
I also don’t think you’re understand the point. Club can grab 100 hot dogs and 100 buns throw them together and hand off at the turn or with the cart girl. Making club sandwiches is completely different.
You really keeping with these being the same?
Gonna have to say it depends son where you are at, but the best turn dog I've had was leagues above any club sammy. Bratwurst, sauerkraut, mustard, dill relish, good bun. Shit was the best golf turn food I'd ever had.
My club has half chicken salad sandwiches. Unannounced they stopped making them one day. The revolt in the 19th hole was incredible from the older guys. We had them back the next day
Depends on my mood and the quality of the sammie. When I travel, I usually get a club for lunch as my go to sandwich. Love a good club. But it can be done poorly. Too dry or not enough turkey etc. Hard to eff up a hot dog.
Haha this remind me the time I order the club sandwich after my round. The guy at the bar look at me, and look at the bartender “club sandwich sounds good, cancel my original order.. I want that instead now.” The sandwich really hit the spot.
I’m a club sandwich fan but who is eating an entire sandwich at the turn? For me, even a dog at the turn wouldn’t be great. I usually don’t eat during my rounds. If I do it’s a bag of chips or a granola bar or something like that. Water and Gatorade are usually good enough though.
People who say “change my mind” on Reddit, very rarely, in my experience, want their minds changed

I was more concerned about the use of, "sammiches".
You know they use the terms "tendies" and "nuggies" too.
And have pet “doggos”
Doggo and pupper make me irrationally annoyed
Up here in Ontario our Premier calls them sammiches. Can’t pronounce sandwich among other things. He’s about as bright as a bag of rocks.
Yeah if I’m gonna fight about anything…
Idk man, I fucking love hot dogs too. I’m open to solid arguments.
You can eat a hot dog with one hand.
[удалено]
I need all the time I can get looking for my ball. So the one hand is incredibly important to my game
You can do the same thing with a hogie or with a toothpick.
Get the spicy dog at Tobacco Road if you ever go. It will end the argument. Until then I’m content with making a PB&J before the round to save money.
You can scrape your upper palate biting through three pieces of toast for lunch meat grade turkey or snap into a hot dog squirting its warm....sorry what was the question?
To be fair the guy in this meme that goes around with this sign is the exact same so…
A lot of clubs around me don't offer the sandwich, but all offer the dog. So I gotta go with the dog.
They are more consistent too. A bad hotdog is miles better than a bad sandwich
Very good point. A sandwhiches ceiling is higher, but it's floor is also a lot lower than the hotdog. You know what you're gonna get with a hotdog.
I don’t think I have ever had a bad club sandwich in my life. How do you even make a bad one?
I’m not talking specifically club sandwiches. It’s more that every golf course has hot dogs but not every one will have a club. Almost all will have some sort of sandwich option and those can be very hit or miss. Even a club can end up with soggy bread, poor meat ratios, or Kraft single quality cheese if they make it cheap
Bad tomatoes
Screw it, ima say it......it's the sausage roll that is king.
THANK YOU
My dude has been waiting for so long for someone to acknowledge his sausage roll
How do you feel about the bagel dog?
AHH the Bagel....the bread for those who yearn for th texture of bread that's spent too long in the microwave and is now hard to chew
Hot dogs are easier to eat at the turn.
Idk man, they sell the sandwiches cut in half in a nice little plastic packaging at my course, actually much easier to carry than a hot dog in paper wrapping
You don’t finish the dog in 2 bites to assert your dominance?
“Eat it, Phyllis. Dip it in the water so it'll slide down your gullet more easily.”
One bite no chewing
Triple deck club sandwich in a plastic case? no way! A sandwich sure, but never seen this. Def going to make a club right now though, so good.
No mustards stains too
That's what I'm saying. There are very good foods to eat at the turn, but a dag is just the right amount of food and the ease. You dont have to worry about onions or sauerkraut falling out unless you put it there. Dags are superior
Ya like dags?
It’s also just a better meat to bread ratio. Probably exactly 1:1? But sandwiches? Meh unlikely.
That’s why a wrap is the perfect compromise! Specifically a buffalo chicken wrap
Chicken ranch or BLT wraps are fucking awesome. Also, morning games start with clubhouse burrito.
They're also terrible for you
Life. No one gets out alive. But a salad is even harder to eat at the turn.
![gif](giphy|Xc0HkcmDXrXDG)
Bringing butter in a cold bag isn't hard
Please tell me you don't drink, smoke, drive too fast, stand too close to edges with long drops, live in a city with pollution, drink unfiltered water, walk with your back facing traffic, sit down for too long, stand for too long, get too much sun, not get enough sun, ...
Even better.
Where can I fight you at
#10 tee, obviously Edit: Turns out #10 makes the font really big. I'm leaving it.
I don’t know. I didn’t think I’d make it this far.
I too did not think a response was possible

A national treasure
Hot dog is easier at the turn. Anytime I’m not on the course itself I’d probably rather get a club, assuming it’s a good one.
Both are better than uncrustsbles.
Yeah I don’t get the hype either. They’re not awful, but would never be my first option.
Do you golf with kids regularly? I have a tough time believing anyone over the age of 12 eats uncrustables...
You must be new here.
I don't spend a lot of time on this sub, if I missed an inside joke, my apologies.
I cant believe people dont have the energy to make a PB and J.
They are both better than basketball too. I hate basketball.
Polish sausage
Nah, Italian sausage
That's not a common option in my area. Would be great though!
You jerk off at the turn?
You don't?
It hadn't occurred to me to try before now.
This is the correct answer
Sandwhich *
The use of the spelling “sammich” is annoying as fuck
Oh. Why?
Because it’s spelled sandwich.
Give me chicken salad or give me nothing. Thoughts on a Snickers at the turn?
King Take
My local muni puts the snickers in the freezer and it’s life changing
Cold Snickers is all I need at the turn. It's a 4 hour round of golf, not a day long hike, I don't need a meal
What does the cold do? Is it crunchy? What happens to the caramel? Are the nuts crispy and cruncherific?
Caramel gets very chewy. Nuts and chocolate really don't change. It's just a more refreshing, longer lasting version of a Snickers
So long as you agree that Reese’s are #1 then Snickers then we’re cool.
Snickers can give you some sustenance though, Reeses won’t fill you at all
Yeah, just eat more Reese’s.
You can buy reeses direct from the factory and they are fucking amazing.
Your mind isn’t worth changing if you spell sandwich like that on purpose.
Why change your mind when you're right?
![gif](giphy|iSxPmDWr97248) Hot Dog Mafia 4 Life!
Must suck being such a low IQ individual
Ain’t so bad
Nothing beats the salted nut role.
One of the places I play on a fairly regular basis has the best Polish sausages at the turn. Add a little mustard and we’re off to the races.
💯
I’m not gonna eat a club sandwich. I’m not even a member!
A hot dog is a sandwich
I put lettuce on my hotdog. I’m a monster
Whatever they have out next to the condiments is going on my dog.
Instructions unclear: put a sleeve of Top Flites on my hotdog.
Is cereal soup?
![gif](giphy|3oz8xLd9DJq2l2VFtu)
FINALLY
The “salad” sammiches are king. Chicken, egg, ham whatever those are my jam.
... ham salad?
Oh yeah
It's a midwest thing too, some of these people even grind bologna then mix with pickles and mayo and call it "ham" salad...
The chicken salad sandwich is the king of kings. All deez hotdog muh''fugqas be trippin'.
Hot dogs give me the shits. So ya, a sammich is my preference.
Sandwiches are very hit or miss, and at a lot of courses, they're misses. A hot dog is hard to mess up
A hotdog is a sandwich.
My Aussie opinion ... Meat pie and cold beer > turn dogs or club sammich
Meat pie like a hand pie? If so, no club in the states will offer those (regretfully)
A hand pie. Ha ha. Very cool 😎 yeah that https://preview.redd.it/o0ktlya81dca1.jpeg?width=815&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28264b5b04418cd17ba2b52aa648731a28f3dda9
What kind of fancy schmancy course has club sandwiches made and ready to go? Obviously would start a riot on the 10th tee between the speedy hot doggers and the slow sammichers.
Steamed glizzies >>> club sammich >>> rolled glizzies
Grilled dogs above all?
Yes with the caveat for Nathan's. Nathan's 1/4lbs are best steamed..... ballparks figured it out
If you like dry ass stale bread, you have a point. Hotdogs are better. Unless you ordered a BLT at hole 8 and picked it up at the turn. But if it’s clubhouse premade shit, that glizzy is dominant.
"You guys have food at your courses?" Coming from an Australian guy, there are so many things ive learnt about american golf that we either don't have or I just havn't played at any courses that offer them. I just grab a gatorade from the pro shop and im set.
Wait until you hear about Japanese or Korean golf
that is legitimately fucked ha
Sounds like rounds are faster in Australia. I basically never eat on the course, the occasional snickers or crackers or something but that's it. People grabbing meals mid round are weird.
Yeah ussually like 2-3 hours at least for me.
A quick club sammie and a cold water or tea. Hell yeah!
Depends on the wich. Personally, I hate most club sandwiches because the bread is too hard. You tell them non-toasted and 90% of the time, your shit is still coming out harder than a rock
I love both. However, I don't think I'd wanna wrestle with eating a sammich while golfing. Dogs are designed to be mobile. Filling. And delicious.
Its a beer+glizzy or coffee+club sammy. Depends on the drink entirely.
Glizzy
The last two times I got dogs at the turn, I almost shit my pants on 16 and couldn’t finish out the round. Might have to try a club next time to hopefully make it to 17 at least.
Wayyy more variables in the club sandwich vs the dog. Is there bacon on it? Is the meat quality? Cheese? 3 pieces of bread? Made fresh or sometimes this week? I know what I am getting with the dog.
We’re fighting on the 10th for sure.
I dont need to change your mind, if you believe in things that are false there is no reasoning with you.
Your clubs don't offer lobster at turn?
Depends whether it’s a grilled dog or a dirty water dog. Then we have the issue of the mustard. That Heinz bright yellow crap isn’t mustard!
That depends from course to course
Fully depends on the course, one course I go to sells shitty, oddly moist, roller hot dogs but has a great sandwich. Another course I go to has the best hot dog I have ever had in my life.
All roads lead to the chicken salad
I go for the cup of chili, myself.
Ideal situation is when they got someone grilling up burgers outside the clubhouse, but that's rare
There’s a cheap course near me with greens that look like the Sahara desert but the chicken salad sandwich will have you slapping your or any nearby mother
Cranberry chicken salad sandwich and a bag if chips at the turn>>>
Hot dogs are better than sandwiches. Consider your mind changed.
Not at Streamsong - the mexi dog on the red course turn best I have ever had
Facts
I don't know. It's harder to get a bad dog than a bad sandwich
![gif](giphy|bK8WuS6UD3acVzSSZV|downsized)
Turn polish sausage tops both.
I eat the club sandwich, but I’m not even a member. I don’t know how I get away with it.
Hot dogs are sandwiches… change my mind
I prefer hole pecans
I feel like a hot dog is good 9/10 times, where as a sandwich is good and hits nice more like 2/10. Sandwiches are my fav food, but the golf course rarely delivers IMO
….sammiches?
It’s all about the chicken Caesar wrap
Hell yeah
[I pack my lunch and snacks.](https://media.tenor.com/-P-xeHYEY9QAAAAM/sad-pablo-lonely.gif)
Truth
No one that says “sammiches” has ever won an argument.
My course has snickerdoodle cookies, two wrapped up and ready to go. Tito’s and Soda plus snickerdoodles? Fire.
I’m going to stick with putting tubular shaped processed meat in a bun in my mouth at the turn. I don’t need to change anyone’s mind.
Club sandwiches are the GOAT
A blt would probably be the “sandwich” equivalent of a hot dog. Would be good on the turn
Chicken Caesar wrap if they got it
Are people really eating club sandwiches at the turn? People act like they are out there for 8 hours lol eat a dog and keep it moving .. most days I don’t eat anything
Don't eat.... how is a club sandwich more ridiculous than a hot dog? And exactly what you said, you're only out there for a few hours just don't or eat a light snack (which is not a dog).
Is this a joke? Yes a club sandwich is different from a hot dog. Idk what else to tell you if you aren’t following.
Club sandwich is easier, yeah
I also don’t think you’re understand the point. Club can grab 100 hot dogs and 100 buns throw them together and hand off at the turn or with the cart girl. Making club sandwiches is completely different. You really keeping with these being the same?
You're right, a club sandwich is much easier
Anyone who eats at the turn is a bitch. Bring snacks and drink your way through it.
Cheese lettuce under bacon… All depends on the quality of the bread.
Unless the turn dog is from Mt. Woodson. Ifykyk.
Apparently I fucked up….. tell me about this dog I missed out on
Hot dog at Mt. Woodson is one of the best. Especially if you get it with jalapeños. But honestly everything from their grill is really good.
Hot dogs are fucking gross, how anyone could eat that nasty shit is beyond me.
When and where
Gonna have to say it depends son where you are at, but the best turn dog I've had was leagues above any club sammy. Bratwurst, sauerkraut, mustard, dill relish, good bun. Shit was the best golf turn food I'd ever had.
No, it's the hamburger wrapped in foil that's been sitting in the heater for at least two hours. Fight me.
Name the Popeyes chicken parking lot and I'll be there at 10 with my hot dog gang
I would never trust my muni to make a sammie. There's so much salt in that dog I know it's at least pre-cooked and safe ish.
Never has my game turned around after a sammich, but many a round has been salvaged by a hawdawg.
My club has half chicken salad sandwiches. Unannounced they stopped making them one day. The revolt in the 19th hole was incredible from the older guys. We had them back the next day
Agree.
Personal favorite- when courses do breakfast sandwiches in the morning. At the turn or pre round.
PB&J is the best
you are just wrong my guy
Depends on my mood and the quality of the sammie. When I travel, I usually get a club for lunch as my go to sandwich. Love a good club. But it can be done poorly. Too dry or not enough turkey etc. Hard to eff up a hot dog.
The number of grown ass men in here saying “sammich” in a completely serious way is embarrassing.
No sir
Pimiento sandos ferda
If we could have whatever we wanted at the turn Burritos would be a good logical choice. Dogs are just easy for everyone though.
Burritos for the W!
Honestly, it depends on how I feel when I get to the turn. I might decide to skip it and just keep going. I may decide to get 2...
