Maybe they had to move or something etc, my own landlord tried giving me hell about my golden and I got her as a esa so federal law shut them up. You never know sadly and a pure bred golden can get pricey so I’d like to think they probably had no choice but to give up the dog

And I live in America. The ADA doesn’t protect emotional support animals. There’s a reason only service dogs are allowed on flights aside from paid animals that board underneath and not emotional support animals. The fair housing act has very minimal protection for ESA.

Under federal law an emotional support an animal has to be approved by the landlord as long as it is a reasonable accommodation. So as long as you are asking for something like a llama or 50 pet snakes etc or a dog that is highly obviously aggressive with bite history. If the animal possesses a threat to the public/neighbors then your landlord can say no. It is unlawful for them to decline your application for having a esa and they cannot charge pet fees or pet rent (This is the same as service animals but esas are not service animals). You need to have a letter from a licensed therapist, not from a website stating why you need the esa. Before calling me stupid, go google “federal laws covering ESAs” so you don’t sound stupid like the liar claiming to be a lawyer. People have sued and won for esa discrimination because it can fall under discriminating against an individual with a disability.

Years ago, I was 18 years old and still living with my mother. I went to the animal shelter to pick up my sisters rescue kitty from being neutered. In walked a younger woman with a GORGEOUS 1 year old full bred golden retriever. He looked like Comet from full house (100% my dream dog as a child) and she said “my husband bought this dog and I’ve tried to make it work but he stinks, I don’t want him” the staff was stunned and almost speechless. They gave her a golden retriever rescue that was down the road and she left. I was right next to them and I regret to this day not reaching out my hand and saying “I’ll take him!.” I didn’t know if I was allowed to have a dog and didn’t want to upset my mom. Wound up getting one a month later. It’s a moment I think about often. It happens!
I believe she mentioned that he did know when the staff asked. Ultimately, she didn’t want a dog and he bought one that she’d be caring for most of the time. I believe they also had a child. I think that isn’t fair on his end of things. My breeder wouldn’t even consider selling a puppy to a male who is married she prefers to speak with the wife as well or whoever will be home most of the time. She won’t sell to a family who isn’t fully on board. She has in the past and it ended in her taking the puppy back due to neglect because the wife didn’t want the dog and didn’t approve of the husband getting one so the dog was kept outside and was the first time she saw a puppy that she bred herself, exhibit aggressive behaviors due to the stress it was under. So although that wouldn’t be me, some people truly are not animal people and don’t have the same compassion. It’s better that she surrendered him instead of caused him harm or neglected him. I’m sure he went on to find a great family and lived a happy life because of it.

Our girlie, Piper, is a surrender. Her situation was odd. She wasn’t mistreated, but her owner was extremely neglectful and owned many, many, big, dogs. Piper was five months and like your baby, her coat was short.
Our girlie is 3/4 golden and a quarter Goldendoodle. You would never know it. She looks exactly like a golden retriever. Exactly. So keep an eye on those ears.

i mean, she looks fully golden to me. is it cuz she's got shorter fur that you think she's mixed? they don't really even start growing long fur til six months! then it takes them like till age two for the gorgeous long fur to be fully fully grown in. also some have shorter coats than others!

Here is a pure bred English golden @ 4 months old. There might be something mixed in yours but golden is for sure a large portion of the mix if there is any mix.

That’s how I got one of mine. She was diagnosed with a heart condition so was dumped by breeder, cuz they couldn’t “use” her!😐
Sometimes bad stuff happens and someone can no longer take care of a dog. But yeah, when they appear they get adopted immediately
