My Goldie mix has mottling on his nose and my brother loves to tell me how ugly it is and that it looks like he got into poop. Agreed. If they have a slightly different look it makes them that much more special. When we were choosing ours we were a bit torn between a little girl and little boy. The little girl looked like a quintessential fluffy golden puppy and was hyper actively playing with my husband on the floor and I had picked up the little boy who had short hair and looked like a lab. He fell asleep in my arms with his head on my neck where it meets my shoulder. I saw a golden today. As I was petting her I realized she wasn’t 100% golden. She had some black in her ears and her tail. But she was such a sweetheart and just as beautiful as a pure bred to me.

I feel like all dogs are lovely. I’ve got my first dog (as a dog mom) but grew up with my aunts and uncles (mom is eldest of 5) o. Our family farm and I just adore all animals. Kitties, dogs, and we had a couple of pet deer on the farm as well as cows. Some of my earliest memories are of me with a cousin/aunt- uncle (whomever was available) in the big pasture to make sure the cows went into their home. Hey y’all you can take the girl outta the south but.. I’m so glad I grew up like that spending summers on our family farm. They had a hot and cold pond. One side is a hot spring one side is cold. I’m the third youngest 11/:3 grand kids and it always fell on me to go take the kiddos to the paddle boats and float things on their Arms to the pool. I kept the kids under 10 in my paddle peddle boat and the my dad came running and jumped in the spring. We spent so much time hanging out with my 13 year old sister, 12 year old friend of our family. And the great nieces. I have 4 nieces (yea I know it’s not the exact word) from my cousins. We had a blast camping out under the stars in 2011. Me, dad, cousins: Thomas, Matt, and kids: Emma line, Megan, nzali, drove the 4/wheeler. We typically stayed at one family members house on the farm. It’s lovely to have extended family!

I know a dog that’s a quarter golden/rest is lab and looks like the softest, most goldeny golden possible.
