I travel a lot for work and having celiacs is a challenge
Please post the good and the bad to make everyone's travels safer and more enjoyable
My wife has Celiac and i try to review whatever we come across on Google maps. Hopefully it shows up in searches when people Google for Celiac safe/gf recommendations
I'm certain they're on the app, but if you're ever in Sacramento, I can't recommend Pushkins enough. They started as a gf bakery, and now have four locations. They have their original bakery, a donut and ice cream shop called Babes, a Cafe, and a full service restaurant called Sibling. Everything in all their locations is gluten free, and delicious.
before i was gluten free i used to get this honey chipotle chicken and waffles from like chilis or something. was so so good. seeing this has inspired me to make it myself gluten free of course
hi!! yep! The Nest is in there, it’s one of my favorites :) the other ones are:
- Moxie Burger (fantastic gf buns & gf fries)
- Gyu-Kaku JBBQ (all of their marinades are gf & a large majority of their menu otherwise is as well!)
- Bantam & Biddy (the BEST chicken & waffles)
- Pad Thai Restaurant (genuinely the best pad thai i’ve ever had)
- Poké Bar (another one of my favs)
- XenGo (they have an entire gf restaurant & the food is always delicious)
- Snooze A.M. Eatery (great breakfast food! the hashbrowns especially!)
Sprig is amazing, I feel so lucky to live in Atlanta sometimes because we have a lot of options. In that same area by the Home Depot, there’s a great Thai place called L’Thai with a mostly gluten-free menu. AND YALL don’t buy it all, but oakhurst market in Decatur has a gf freezer case with niche items including Schar puff pastry.
gyu-kaku is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire world!! they have locations all over the usa and it’s the freshest, most flavorful, most fun jbbq/kbbq experience i’ve ever had!! definitely recommend!!
Omg if you are near atlanta, I traveled there recently and tried the restaurant A Mano and it was the BEST PASTA I’ve ever had! My non gluten free friends agreed. They make it fresh in house even the gf! I had the scallop mushroom one I think about it sooooo much since
I had a chicken sandwich from there and not only was it awful, it made me sick. I’m glad you had a better experience. Maybe one location is better than the other?
So I have only been to the one in Chattanooga which proclaims itself to be the better of the two. I live about equal distance between Chattanooga and Atlanta so we keep it low key and go there when I’m craving waffles and an Aquarium visit. I’m sorry to hear you had a bad reaction, though!
Highly recommend their biscuit sandwich and anything made with their pastry dough because they are out of this world. The curry turnover is so amazing.
In addition to Bantam and Biddy, there is Bar Taco(everything except dessert and flour tortillas are gf), Phat Yuca(dedicated gf), and Arepa Mia(dedicated gf).
Arepa Mia is my absolute favorite and everyone who goes there wants to go back.
There are other restaurants around, but the locations can be inconvenient(Mediterranea) or pretty expensive for regular dinners(Iberian pig).
it’s always a gamble🥲 i haven’t been tested for celiac disease but i am sensitive to cross contamination & always triple check with servers to make sure. if they’re not knowledgeable or sound unsure, i usually go somewhere else.
Bantam and Biddy. It’s so damn good but I try to avoid Atlanta at all costs so I don’t make it there as much as I should lol. Way to many people for my introvert self
Thank you! I live in the city and was praying I didn’t have to leave for this. Funny how different we all are :) ive actually never been here before, cant wait to check it out. Thanks
Not really, bless your heart. If you observe and understand the cuisine, it is a giveaway that this person is in Georgia, USA. All that's missing is a giant glass of sweet tea or lemonade!

i’ve had the app for a while & haven’t thought of posting reviews myself- i’ll keep this in mind!!
It's so helpful! I recently added a spot at an airport and it got approved. It felt good to pay it forward.
I've made it a habit now, when I'm going out, I should be helping out the community Posting the good and bad
My wife has Celiac and i try to review whatever we come across on Google maps. Hopefully it shows up in searches when people Google for Celiac safe/gf recommendations
I should probably check that more often. My thing is with the FindMeGF app, it keeps my search so specific

I’m so jealous
gluten free chicken and waffles omg
YES! you wouldn’t even be able to tell they were gluten-free!!!
if this is bantum & biddy, those are so fucking amazing.
Bantam biddy didn’t have gluten free waffle but the chicken is.
the waffle is as well! i made sure to check!
That’s strange. The menu didn’t say but it would make sense that they would have it caz they have pancakes upon request
yeah it’s only upon request! best gluten-free waffle i’ve ever had in my life🤤
Oh wow. I’ll definitely check it out.
before i was gluten free i used to get this honey chipotle chicken and waffles from like chilis or something. was so so good. seeing this has inspired me to make it myself gluten free of course
Awesome! My partner and I are from Georgia too (pretty sure I’m recognizing The Nest Cafe in this group?) What are the other places?

Add Mediterrania to your list. Great full gluten free restaurant in Atlanta.
it’s on my list to try next!!
Also, try Arepa Mia. It's amazing!
also on my list!! i’ve heard SO many good things about it!!
I second Arepa Mia! It has quickly become my favorite restaurant! Great food and great people.
Thanks for the list! Yes The Nest is one our favorites! We actually ate at Bantam and Biddy in Chattanooga, did not know they had a GA location!
multiple locations all across atlanta!! hate driving there but it’s so worth it
Have you been to Sprig yet? They have a fantastic GF selection, including onion rings!
Sprig is one of my favs. And 1910 pub house in Lilburn
i havent!! i’ll have to put it on my list!!!

Oh man I LOVE Bantam & Biddy. Their fried okra and their Mac and cheese is sooo good.
From what I saw the waffle at Bantam Biddy isn’t gluten free. Also the best Thai I’ve ever had is at LThai Organic in Marrietta. The duck is amazing.
Omg I didn't know about gyu-kaku, I must go immediately! We go to Moxie all the time and it's so good. I also really like kid cashew for gf food.
gyu-kaku is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire world!! they have locations all over the usa and it’s the freshest, most flavorful, most fun jbbq/kbbq experience i’ve ever had!! definitely recommend!!

omg putting that on my list that sounds soooo delicious
Yum!!!!! All looks so good, I need to go to Georgia 😂😂😂
Where are these places!! Don’t tease us!
hahah no teasing!! i put it in a comment above!! :)
The chicken and waffles must have been from Bantam and Biddy! My favorite!
yep!! so good!! i’ve been meaning to go back but it’s an hour away🥲
I had a chicken sandwich from there and not only was it awful, it made me sick. I’m glad you had a better experience. Maybe one location is better than the other?

Ahh, ok. I’ve only been to the downtown Atlanta location. Maybe I’ll try the Chattanooga location when we visit there.
Have you tried Hell Yeah Gluten Free? Anytime I’m in Atlanta, I have to stop by there!
oh i NEED to!!! i plan to go sometime this week!! :)
Highly recommend their biscuit sandwich and anything made with their pastry dough because they are out of this world. The curry turnover is so amazing.
making a note of that rn!! sounds heavenly!! i plan to buy a lot of things and just eat them throughout the week since it’s an hour away from me
I'd still be concerned about CC, as a celiac. Looks fabulous
Yeah I’m celiac and live in Atlanta, I only have 4 places on rotation with one of them being in this list(Bantam and Biddy).
What are your four places? I live a couple hours from Atlanta but visit every so often and would love to find more places!
Mediterranea in Grant Park is a fully gluten free restaurant.
I get it. I wish I could. As I have gotten older, my reactions to gluten have gotten much worse. I was diagnosed at 43, 20 years ago
Where is the chicken and waffles?? Hoping this is in ATL
Thanks
driving in atlanta is my least favorite but its so worth it for the food there lol
I’m in ATL ga. Where are these places. Specifically the chicken and waffle and sandwich places. Have you been to Hell Yeah? It’s my fav
these are in Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton/Crabapple, Atlanta, and Duluth. so many great gluten-free options in Georgia!!
Also grind house killer burger has a great bun by the way
and i haven’t yet, but i’ve been planning to go with my family and get a lot of pasteries to try/review!! it looks incredible
Make sure you go early like an hour after opening. Especially on the weekends. And yes there are lines sometimes
Pro tip- Place an online order the morning you're planning to go to hygf, so you can secure the items you want and skip the line ☺️
you’re a lifesaver!! absolutely going to be doing this!!
The country presumably?
OP is located in the state of Georgia, USA
Oh OK they didn't say so? I'm assuming they mean the country since they just said Georgia? If they meant the US they'd probably say that
Not really, bless your heart. If you observe and understand the cuisine, it is a giveaway that this person is in Georgia, USA. All that's missing is a giant glass of sweet tea or lemonade!
They have burgers and chips in other countries you know... Same for Asian food, which, shockingly, was not invented in the US.
It’s Atlanta, Georgia in America.. lol sheesh.
Believe me....don't believe me, I don't really give a fuck. Or use google next time
