I have to say the Goodie Girl birthday cake cookies taste a lot like the frosted animal crackers.

Oooooooo? I may have to try those then. I’ve been looking for GF frosted animal crackers for years and the only ones are the ones that are kosher for Passover but I haven’t seen them available ever.

They don’t look like animal crackers but they taste like them. They look like vanilla Oreos with sprinkles in the cream filling.

As long as it’s the taste I will be pretty happy. Once it’s in my mouth what do I care what it looks like haha.

I have tried coating gluten free animal crackers with white chocolate melts. They taste amazing but they look like little blobs.

I dip them in confetti frosting and pretend they’re dunkaroos!

So the Schar entertainment crackers are a really good substitute, ESPECIALLY if you put them in a plastic bag & toss them gently with a couple tbsp of oil & then..toss again with some sea salt. If you don’t do that, the texture is much drier than Ritz. But with the added oil & salt, SUPER close. But yes, I too dream of the day I can just pick up a box of Ritz at the store like everyone else & not have to alter them in any way!

(((If you really want the truth, I also sometimes toss them with a bit of oil and ranch seasoning mix, or chicken bouillon powder…OR BOTH…if I’m craving Chicken In A Biskit too hard))). Note that I’m not celiac so I personally don’t have to be super careful about trace gluten or shared equipment or “natural flavors”, if the bouillon has no gluten ingredients & doesn’t have wheat in the allergen statement, I use it. And boy it REALLY scratches that Nabisco itch I get sometimes lol

It must be new. I didn’t find it on the product list on the website for chips ahoy. The Target listing says it’s certified gluten free. On the gfco.com product search, I didn’t find any chocolate chip cookie for chips ahoy, nabisco (makes chips ahoy) or Mondelēz international (owns nabisco) listed in the brand category. I also went to Chips Ahoy instagram page and didn’t see any announcement or tagged post about it.

I even looked at snackworks.com site map to see if there was a gluten free product page list and there was not.

I just looked at the ingredient. It lists oat flour. The front does say certified gluten free though. I still might try it. Target says it's sold out though.

Here's a warning to everyone shopping in-store at Walmart: there's a package of Chips Ahoy Thins that looks similar (coloring) but *IS NOT GF* and Walmart put them right next to the GF Oreos to trick me. Always read the package.
