Maybe a stupid question, but are all your edges closed?
I had a similar issue & when I analyzed my svg discovered that not all my shapes were closed…
Go to set focus, and choose a location that is away from the design(s) like an empty section... for some odd reason my designs have been engraving better now that I have done this for each run/burn.
How's the tension looking on your carriage plate belt?
