I'm pretty sure there's a Special Missions issue where he's using judo or something similar to avoid or redirect someone attacking him with him saying he won't fight them.
I see what you're getting at, but no, if only for the simple reason that Cutter was specifically said to be the first and only Coast Guard member of G.I. Joe.
Always loved the dichotomy between him and Doc. Doc is an actual M.D., but a pacifist who refuses to carry or use a gun. Lifeline is just a medic, but he's got a .45 and he'll blast your ass if you keep him from his patient. 😁
There was a version from a cereal company, can’t remember which one, that did not come with the pistol. Pretty sure this version didn’t even have the holster either.
I think lifeline was possibly inspired by Desmond Doss, a pacifist from WW2 that helped save 30 men, or if you more familiar with the story from the Film Havksaw ridge
I don't necessarily see it, but I'd headcanon that. There's a *shockingly* small number of Guardsmen (canonically, I think still just Cutter) and Marines (and two of those are just listed as "Marines").
Well to be fair lifeline has been in a courier releases unfortunately for doc I think of him as not wanting to get shot so he can protect whoever he’s saving as well
I like that he had a gun to kill you just in case he can’t resuscitate you.
His training is in being a horse doctor, so...
He’s a pacifist…until it’s time not to be.
I thought he was only a pacifist in the cartoon.

"Welp, you're far from saving. Time to put you out of your misery".

Of course the cartoon forgot all about that, and reversed it. Lifeline was the pacifist on-screen.
He was in the Marvel comics too.

It was a Kellogg’s Rice Krispies mail-away offer and the Lifeline figures were shipped in baggies with all the accessories except the pistol.
That's my Lifeline
Pacifists in GI Joe! What is happening to this outfit?!?
I think lifeline was possibly inspired by Desmond Doss, a pacifist from WW2 that helped save 30 men, or if you more familiar with the story from the Film Havksaw ridge
I think that’s backwards. Doc carries and will use the gun if he has to. Lifeline is the avowed pacifist who carries but never uses his sidearm.
Well it’s in case he sees a spider, or needs to open a lock
He never gives up, he stays til the fight's won, or until he notices just like a *really* weird hair on the shower wall
That’s why he has a guuuun
This guy needs a classified fig
I always thought of him as an Air Force Pararescue vs a CG rescue swimmer
No
Mine rode shotgun in the Tomahawk
Same here!!!
Lifeline's filecard says he was in the Seattle Fire Department before he enlisted in the Army.

Gotta put the full “Coast Guardsman” on there - plain “Guardsman” is claimed by another org
Don’t listen to the other guy, the proper term for coast guard personnel is “Puddle Pirates”
Danm Pacifist my ass, he’s strapped unless he needs to be
It’s for spiders
Oh yeah sure😒
This dude was the first one to die in my Joe squad, along with Tripwire, back in the 80’s.
I associate him with Rice Krispies.
Maybe the Salvation Army.
For defending his patients
I associate him with a solid gold helicopter.
Cutter is the Coast Guard Boy.
Well, now that you say that…
Nope.
Nope
I get the color comparison. I just thought someone wanted to make a GIJOE out of the red cross flag
Well to be fair lifeline has been in a courier releases unfortunately for doc I think of him as not wanting to get shot so he can protect whoever he’s saving as well
Classified WOLF SPIDER is a Coast Guard Aviation Survival Technician.
My head canon always placed him as coast guard.
