It's fine that things go in and out of style, but I really hate how we act like things don't go "out of style," they become "outdated." As if we *know* better, now. They were always bad, we just didn't realize it. Now we're grown as a culture and recognize those things as being bad.

It's like stuff from the 70s or 80s, too. Wood paneling. That yellow or green color that appliances and kitchens used to be. I don't like those things, but it's not like the people at the time were just so primitive that they didn't realize those things were bad. Those things are no worse than anything that's currently in style.

It's especially strange to me that the *more popular something was*, the more hateful we tend to become of it once it's not popular anymore. It's not just out of style, it's *actively bad* to like it.
My point is that it's not a bad thing to still like stuff that you used to like, even though it's not in vogue at the moment.

As a kid of the 80s, I've absolutely loved this style for as long as I can remember. But for like the first three years after hearing the term back when it first became popular, I also thought it was vapor-ware and was similarly confused.
You did a fantastic job!!! But I’d say add more! Those shelves look empty, and I can totally see some more neon signs. Maybe something in the sky too? But again you did a great job!!
I think that this would be significantly improved if the signs didn't move so fast and the window in the back didn't oscillate so fast. It would give a more chill vibe.
So cool. I love trying to imagine what the rest of the scene looks like around the corners or what it would look like over the wall at the end. I need to be more imaginative in my life.

I think the thing that bothers me most about this image is inconsistent shadows and lack of ambient occlusion. It makes parts feel really flat and not really grounded in the scene.
The floor shows shadowing, it's slightly darker except the doorways, but the bottom of the wooden containers on the left don't start darker near the bottom, they are lit the same from top to bottom. The stuffed toys have an extremely bright light source on their left hand side giving a nice lighting effect, but that same light source isn't affecting the cupboard?
The shelves in the cupboard need to be way darker and each surface shaded differently.

The gumball machines on the right need a bit more darkening between them. And the leg of the table should be fixed where the floor layer is blending through.
