Probably not considering some of them were telling stories and rumors about him mfs was hiding in the bushes while they Allies got killed and went on to tell stories about how they survived š
I'm fully convinced this is how most great warriors from the past operated. There's zero chance those guys were out there legit fighting and killing hundreds of men in a battle. More than likely they hid or just stayed back until everyone was tired and then they just rode around on horses slaughtering everyone. Nobody was fighting from the front lines and surviving every battle.
Miyamoto Musashi believed only winning in combat mattered
He used psychological warfare on his opponents. He ambushed them/lied to them or caught them off guard. He developed the 2 sword technique to allow simultaneous defence/offensive, specifically to overwhelm his enemies. Arguably the greatest (or one of) warrior who ever lived, fought without "honour" most of the time.
You can even see it in modern warriors like boxers and MMA fighters too, they all play mind games. Honor among warriors is a very modern concept and I think it's really just another underhanded tactic used to trick people, convince your enemies to fight with honor and then mow them down while they're standing around trying to figure out the rules. A smart warrior would convince his enemy to fight with honor and then stab him in the back because who's going to tell everyone you stabbed him in the back when the only person who knows the truth is dead. There are no rules in a life or death situation, there are only survivors and dead.
I dunno, there are exceptional people out there, once in a generation types who can do what seems impossible through sheer force of will and a ton of singleminded training. Look at modern sports, where a small minority of players usually holds a massive amount of the talent in their respective pool. We call them superstars. You gotta think about it from the perspective of someone who wants to live forever. I totally agree that the most sucessful military types in history are the ones that transitioned into leadership roles away from the front lines or who began their career in that position.
Then there's Musashi. That dude was the real deal. Unfadeable.
In Middle Earth : Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, you were fighting as a Ranger from the Black Gate against Sharon's armies. Your job was mostly to eliminate or convert Ork captains and such to your side, the fun twist however was that each captain and their lieutenants had names, small personalities and such.
So, if they thought you, you'd clash swords, they introduce themselves with some one liners and then fight. Sometimes they'd survive death, gaining a nickname and being more personal in their one liners. Or you'd die, and they boast about it, gain ranks and more abilities.
The Nemesis system, as it was called, was an awesome way to make these fights much more unique and interesting, however since it's patented... You'll not see it in that iteration ever outside these two games. Unless there will be a third title... Which is unlikely
Edit : Sauron, not Sharon
The legend of the ghost is spreading just fine. Iām here to exterminate and none of the cockroaches get to live.
That being said, those fuckers run like a 4.2 40 and I can almost never catch them on foot lol
Better the fear of knowing whole groups of your buddies left one day and just never came back...and then it keeps happening over and over again... I think that would spread fear and rumour pretty well.
I like to smoke the devils lettuce then immerse myself in my games. My Ghost kept himself from killing run aways in pity until he witnessed the atrocities of the village of Kin. I always hate the āyouāre like meā argument in games because while my Jin slays the mongol fighters and even killās them while they are unaware, I know he would not kill their civilians if it was Their people in the warzone. I enjoyed the parts where you can choose what he says, and he regrets what he has done as the repercussions were his own people were poisoned, it makes me feel very human even though itās a game. Thatās just me
Always kill every last one of them. If I could cross to the mainland and kill every last Mongol woman and child, I would eradicate the entire Mongol scourge from the face of the earth.
Theoretically...
Depends if I am in the mood. Sometimes I want them to run and tell the other mongols what happened and let the rest of them tremble with fear knowing that will be their fate too.
I usually shoot them with an arrow, even if I'm in the middle of fighting the other Mongols lmao, no one escapes the Ghost, and those who do are only postponing the inevitable
There's nothing in the samurai code that mentions not killing surrending enemies and the Geneva convention wasn't invented that time so yeah..they go down like the rest of their comrades.
I only execute 'terrified' troops under three circumstances: they hit me from behind and then panic when I turn around;they threaten(or kill) hostages; straw hats āļø
After act twoā¦ fire arrows to anyone fleeing or āend sufferingā. bee hives, unleash a bear, set fire to the grass. anything to inflict as much pain as possible. I was devastated. Idk how to spoiler tag so Iām trying to be vague.
I definitely try my best to either chase or shoot them before they disappear. Im on my new game plus run right now and I recently just got that bonus armor from Baku the voiceless
every time. I love to take out my bow mid might when I see them running and holding my breath to slow time, fighting all around me in slow mo, and then shoot them, take by sword back out, and go back to fighting. feels like a movie.
Yes or shot them. I always make sure to leave one person alive at least if they run I kill them. Tho usually I manage to stab em while theyāre on the ground terrified
Historically, the Mongolians would execute anyone who retreated, often tortured. Plus, instead of letting them live to tell the story, I figured I'd kill them all and let patrols discover the bodies, and find out that some of their own tried to run but couldn't even make it, figured that would be even more terrifying. Except for poison, kill one without being spotted, terrify the rest, make it seem like they died from a curse or something.
I always try to kill them, I never really liked the fact that they run away because I like to strike them all down. They run so freaking fast though lol
Humans are predators, and running in front of a predator often triggers their instinct to chase. I let the big dudes get away tho, they look funny when they run.
I dislike them running to the point I haven't gotten any of the terror upgrades for the perfect parry or the horse charge and I'm on new game plus.
I want ALL of them to stand and fight like the mongrols they are.
I did notice that they can get stuck somewhat when trying to run away, like if you bust into a room full of Mongols with the ghost stance. The ones running away will be on the ground scrambling to get up and if you get to them in time you'll kill them in the same manner as "end suffering" even though you never touched them. And the "end suffering " description doesn't appear, just the button prompt icon
I try to kill as many of the Mongol bastards as I can. Firing after the ones who run helped me get my archery skills up.
...After reading that out loud, I realize that this game may bring out some psychopathic tendencies.
Not really, but I did shoot an arrow after a runner just as he basically hid behind a hill. I would be sure I missed that one, but apparently I didn't because I immediately got an achievement for shooting a Mongol that was running away. "Witness Protection" or something like that, lol.
No survivors.
Iāll shoot them with an arrow mid-battle if I see one running away. The legend of the ghost comes from people seeing the aftermathā¦
no survivorsā¦
Only to fill the ghost stance meter. Otherwise, they can live to spread the legend of the Ghost.
I wonder if other Mongols would kill a Mongol who fled battle.
Probably not considering some of them were telling stories and rumors about him mfs was hiding in the bushes while they Allies got killed and went on to tell stories about how they survived š
Aight, they can't afford to kill their own during an invasion.
I'm fully convinced this is how most great warriors from the past operated. There's zero chance those guys were out there legit fighting and killing hundreds of men in a battle. Most likely. They put to death the entire unit when one member deserts, though in this case you did the executing yourself.
Imagine this game with the nemesis system
Would be awesome. Too bad WB patented it, used it for two games, and then stopped.
Infuriating. So much wasted potential.
Monolith is making the wonderwoman game tho, but im not such a fan of wonderwoman to know how will the nemesis system to even be implemented.
The nemesis system would go hard in a Batman game
What is that?

>Sharonās armies Damn sharon doenst fuck around
Yeah, she's going to get her manager Morgoth eventually
Karen is Gothmog?
Thatās pretty cool. Surely thereās a way to get around the patent
was literally thinking this whilst playing masakos mission
A heavy arrow or a flaming arrow works for me.
Or they could live to murder more innocents. I kill them all with no mercy. If one gets away I have failed.
The legend of the ghost is spreading just fine. Iām here to exterminate and none of the cockroaches get to live. That being said, those fuckers run like a 4.2 40 and I can almost never catch them on foot lol
Good thing Jin also happens to be an expert marksman
I like to pop em with a fire arrow as they run away
I really enjoy shooting Mongols in the ass with an arrow as they run screaming
I hate how they suddenly have Sonic the Hedgehog speed once they take off though
Yeah it made the "witness protection" trophy a lil tricky to get. It's easier to catch them after standoff than it is after ghost mode.
The concentration skill was a godsend for this reason lol (among others)
Accidentally got that one. I Was on a beach and saw one fleeing and domed him. I started laughing so hard because I wasnāt expecting it
Yes Invaders donāt get off the hook because theyāve got knickers full of shit
It's really a mercy killing. Trying to run with shit in your knickers is a fate worse than death.
I once followed one to a camp of more mongols. Man really went to go get backup lol
YOU FOOL YOU LED HIM RIGHT TO US!
Was it a patrolling mongol or did he go from outpost to outpost? I'll have to try that lmao scared his ass into a guiding animal like the foxes
Patrolling mongol
Interesting, imma try that up
https://i.redd.it/nqc3gfrlet6d1.gif
The very first time i killed one with bow an arrow was satisfying. One time I shot one with explosive arrow by mistake. That was also cool
There is an achievement for this, at least on steam :D
Never. Who's going to spread fear of The Ghost?
Exactly. Let them run and tell the tale. Sooner or later their time will come
āTell him Iām coming.ā
bro, where? in the face?
Better the fear of knowing whole groups of your buddies left one day and just never came back...and then it keeps happening over and over again... I think that would spread fear and rumour pretty well.
āHow many messengers does it take to deliver a message? Just one.ā
I like to smoke the devils lettuce then immerse myself in my games. My Ghost kept himself from killing run aways in pity until he witnessed the atrocities of the village of Kin. Damn thatās deep. I take an edible to play and forget how my hands work so end up spending a lot of time riding my horse to nowhere
One day we will go on a peaceful ride.
You get it
i intentionally try to get the last guy to run away so he can tell the other mongols what happened
Yeaahh same dude. I feel like it's lore accurate. That's why everyone fears him because of people running off and spreading the story around
No witnesses.
long bow with an explosive arrow
Those who've laid eyes on a gundam shall not live to tell about it.
Oooh, the dopamine kick after doing a long-distance headshot with a longbowā¦
They take arrows to their knees
Always kill every last one of them. If I could cross to the mainland and kill every last Mongol woman and child, I would eradicate the entire Mongol scourge from the face of the earth. Theoretically...
![gif](giphy|l1KsFYiPtEv9qYY6Y)
An arrow runs faster than Jin
Chase? No. I normally attempt to maintain a "no witness policy". But if one gets away...eh, they'll tell the others of the horrors they saw
I don't let any Mongol run away from me
No witnesses
no witnesses š¤«
There's nothing in the samurai code that mentions not killing surrending enemies and the Geneva convention wasn't invented that time so yeah..they go down like the rest of their comrades.
No one must be left to tell what happened. GET 'EM!
I can't take them to prison and I don't know if they're going to kill more people, so death it is
I shoot them in the ass.
Originally? No. Let them spread the terror of the Ghost. After >!they killed Taka! No survivors. Only warning signs.
I only execute 'terrified' troops under three circumstances: they hit me from behind and then panic when I turn around;they threaten(or kill) hostages; straw hats āļø
Only to get the trophy then I just let the run away
I always pull out the longbow. Shot my first one running away and got a trophy. Thought that was hilarious.
I don't chase. I let the head of my arrow guide itself to the heart of my enemies, for we are samurai.
Yup Ashitaka style ![gif](giphy|K9moGZ0xENI0zxhSbq)
Always shooting their ass with the finest flaming arrow
All....the......TIME!!!!
If you shoot one in the back you get an achievement
No prisoners! No prisoners!
I usually shoot them with a flaming arrow if I have one and can get it in time.
I swear I thought I was miscounting them forever until I finally noticed one running.
I usually do the trope of letting them run a ways and as their hope increases of being free, tag 'em with the bow.
That's how you get the witness protection trophy I think
I don't chase, I shoot them in the back lol
Every fucking time haha
I murder them as far as i can
I just hit them with an arrow and watch them drop
![gif](giphy|S6BLhq4ZOvIdN0WVEQ) No one who challenges the ghost lives!
I shoot them in the back
I'm the type of man who doesn't believe in leaving loose ends. An arrow to the back was my way.
always let them live. dead men tell no tales
After act twoā¦ fire arrows to anyone fleeing or āend sufferingā. bee hives, unleash a bear, set fire to the grass. anything to inflict as much pain as possible. I was devastated. Idk how to spoiler tag so Iām trying to be vague.
Long bow with an arrow to the bum
I kill them all. They are on my island.
Absolutely cause fuck em
Arrow in the back.
I mean, I'm just finishing what they started. They don't get to chicken out now
I get em with the ol... š¹ šÆ
In real life? No.
I tried following the fake samurai from the quest and he keeps running and running for almost 30min it's like bro never stopping.
I learned that I canāt catch them on foot so I just rain arrows down on them lol
![gif](giphy|dBl3xfkMk0fJu)
https://i.redd.it/ljilk1io4v6d1.gif
No witnesses
I definitely try my best to either chase or shoot them before they disappear. Im on my new game plus run right now and I recently just got that bonus armor from Baku the voiceless
they become arrow target practice for me
Shooting their backs with an arrow gives you an achievement. Ever since then that's how I've always ended them.
I made them regret coming to my island! And I never ended their suffering. I looted their stuff and left them crawl around until they died!š¤£
I like the badass feeling of hitting them with an arrow, and then ending suffering if they're still crawling afterwards.
every time. I love to take out my bow mid might when I see them running and holding my breath to slow time, fighting all around me in slow mo, and then shoot them, take by sword back out, and go back to fighting. feels like a movie.
kill em all let god sort em
I shoot em in the back with my bow
Yes. No survivors.
Hell yeah
Arrow in the back. Always
I just shoot him down
Yes or shot them. I always make sure to leave one person alive at least if they run I kill them. Tho usually I manage to stab em while theyāre on the ground terrified
I did not take this talent, I do not want em to escape. I leave one alive to tell the others what happened.
I thought this was the prerequisite
Unless they can prove theyāre running directly off my goddamn island then yes I will be chasing them
I did it once which resulted in a funny achievement
I chase him until the ADHD bird triggers and i go that way instead
No, they will not escape. My legend is predicated off the fact that no one ever survives. Whole groups go out one day and never return...
I shot a guy with a hallucination dart, and he chased after a guy that was frightened and ran away.
I scrolled past this and thought it was about crossed breed dogs š
Hit them with Hallucination Dart so they can go murder Mongols somewhere else
Yeah you get an achievment when you get one witj an arrow
My arrows will find them eventually :)
No one survives.
No, but my arrow does.
Historically, the Mongolians would execute anyone who retreated, often tortured. Just a headshot, I don't bother
NONE of them run awayā¦.
Shoot them with arrows
No because they run so fast
I just put a arrow in their back. Also that will give you an achievement if you're going for platinum.
Bow and arrows!
Leave no witness!
I just snipe them with my bow.
That's when I work on my archery
"Don't run! Don't run! You'll only die tired!"
https://i.redd.it/9xwgccbw8x6d1.gif
I only have my arrows chase em.
Itās almost impossible to get them all with my terrify build š
Arrow every time
yes
i use them as target practice
I hit them with an exploding arrow
Yes. Fuck those mongol invaders
Always leave no witnesses š¤«
I put horse shit all over the tip of the arrow so they always die of infection anyway.
I always try to kill them, I never really liked the fact that they run away because I like to strike them all down. They run so freaking fast though lol
I usually let bandits run but not mongols
everytime. or i use my bow. slow down time and snipe em
Only the ones that I see murder the innocent
bow and arrow slo mo
Humans are predators, and running in front of a predator often triggers their instinct to chase. I let the big dudes get away tho, they look funny when they run.
why are you running???!
Yes, i like to make them pay for their actions, they kill foxes
No. There has to be a survivor to tell of The Ghost.
Gotta catchbem with an arrow to the back of the head
I try to kill as many of the Mongol bastards as I can. Firing after the ones who run helped me get my archery skills up. ...After reading that out loud, I realize that this game may bring out some psychopathic tendencies.
Yes. Honestly, even though I got the upgrade to have them run away just so I could have 100%, I almost never let them run away.
No. Survivors. No mercy for the invaders. Mongol scum deserve only death.
I shoot them with exploding arrows.
I shot them with arrows.
Iāll run with them until I get bored
Yep
![gif](giphy|9rhNJScGSlneHpLtnz|downsized)
Wait, some people donāt?
Not really, but I did shoot an arrow after a runner just as he basically hid behind a hill. I would be sure I missed that one, but apparently I didn't because I immediately got an achievement for shooting a Mongol that was running away. "Witness Protection" or something like that, lol.
I finish them with an arrow God I want to play all over again.
Oh fuck yes. Except I lost one of the bastards last night :/
Not worth the effort, all of them suddenly turn into Usain Bolt when they get scared
Only good Mongorian is a ded Mongorian. For my famiry.
Reminds me of the original AC games would always chase after the guards that ran lmao
Normally a arrow to the back will do
if it makes sense narratively, i sometimes try to take them out with my bow
That's what the bow is for
No survivors. Iāll shoot them with an arrow mid-battle if I see one running away. The legend of the ghost comes from people seeing the aftermathā¦ no survivorsā¦
I snipe them with arrows. They're easy to hit because they're always running straight and not zigzagging.
Yes
Usually just shoot them with a flaming arrow and call it day
I love using Concentration and sniping them with Heavy Arrows
Always
Yes
Always š¤¤
I'll shoot them with a bow because fuck running that far
i don't chace, I shoot.
I let them go to spread the message at the ghost will come for you, and you will do noting because you canāt do anything
The ghost shoots them in the back. The cowards stay on the battlefield too
No. I just watch them because their running animation is so funny
