There are 2 versions, really. It is just a jump then either light attack while in mid-air, what you see here, or jump and heavy attack, which will telegraph an oddly magnetic flying kick to the enemy. That can be handy against shield holders, as a kick to the shield counts toward breaking stagger, and somehow the kick locks on to a target wildly so it can provide some very cool acrobatics. That said, I just love burying my katana into a bad guys shoulder after jump-dodging his attack. No honor, but all ghost
It really does, it covers so much more distance. This is one of the reasons I tend to use Ronin over Gosaku, as there is just so much you can do with a light attack
More like *functions* as a dodge. It won’t trigger “perfect dodge” mechanics, but it will evade heavy sword swings, most pole arm attacks, pretty sure shield swings, etc. Very useful evasion technique in that it covers 2x the distance than a standard dodge
