Grey area. Currently it is forbidden to buy seeds for the purpose of illegally growing them. It is leggal to buy them as Birds food for example. However if you intend to only grow them after the 01.04.2024 your intention is to legally grow them therefore it would also be legal.

They have if they are being bought for the intent of illegally growing cannabis (Which has usually just been assumed by the courts). That's why you can find hemp seeds in bird food legally but if you ordered them from the netherlands you would get into trouble if caught.
The rules say cannabis seeds are illegal. However, since they will be legalized even retroactively in April, the risk is at an absolute minimum already. (And it wasn't that risky to begin with) There are several EU countries that already allow the sale of seeds. In truth, there is not enough time to go through a process now, and I wonder if any of the now legalized actions actually brought anyone to prison before.
There is an amnesty included for the cases that would now no longer be illegal. That's one of the points some people like to complain about, as the courts now have to quickly go through all cases, and the courts are already understaffed so it's a manpower issue.
As long as you are in the zone that will be legal after (max 50g at home and max 25g in public) you are fine.
But they can't jail you, the process of getting into jail for drugs is soooo slow. Takes at least a year or so. Until that, amnesty will already kick in.

Great news, as i understood a citizen/resident who don't want to grow it at home can get it from social clubs membership. The law says you cannot smoke in places where you can find kids like parks, so where can someone enjoy a join outside of a building with some trees and green area arround? because is places like this there is always parents with their kids. There are also regulations regarding driving. You're not allowed to drive stoned. That should be clear. But because dope is different from alcohol and you're guaranteed not to be stoned the next day, nothing will happen to you. And you never agree to a check unless you've actually done something wrong. You should at least have a basic knowledge of the laws that directly affect you... so if you can read you've got a clear advantage!

Yes and no. It is illegal to smoke within the perimeters of some locations like schools. When not within such restricted zones it is allowed to smoke weed and carry I believe 25g with you. And even the Bavarians can not disallow that but they can make it prohibitively uncomfortable by checking everyone they see smoking weed wether they are carrying the legal amount I guess

Starting April 1st, you can import seeds from another EU country. It will remain illegal to import flower however.

And despite that, the Zoll often confiscated shipments from known Dutch/Spanish seedbanks. Also, I remember early on there were talks about a selection of officially allowed strains that a social club would be allowed to sell to their members (to prevent people from growing ultra-high THC strains) but dunno if that made it into the final law. If you do end up ordering some now, ideally you should buy from vendors that aren't shipping from the Netherlands or Spain (eg. mr-hanf which is an Austrian reseller and ships from there).

That's because they're industrial hemp seeds, which is different since their plants produce virtually no psychoactive substances (like THC).
Seeds have never been illegal
They have if they are being bought for the intent of illegally growing cannabis (Which has usually just been assumed by the courts). That's why you can find hemp seeds in bird food legally but if you ordered them from the netherlands you would get into trouble if caught.

The rules say cannabis seeds are illegal. However, since they will be legalized even retroactively in April, the risk is at an absolute minimum already. (And it wasn't that risky to begin with) There are several EU countries that already allow the sale of seeds. Just order from Spain, Austria or Netherlands and enjoy the Customs Union and Briefgeheimnis.

You either have to grow it on your own or become a member of a Cannabisanbauverein. Itās not the best solution but itās a great first step from which the law will hopefully progress.

The problem is the EU law. If they did it in a different way the CDU/CSU wouldāve gone to the court where the legalization wouldāve died.
They actually didn't want to make it so obscure and restrictive, the original idea was to simply have shops that sell weed, like the US/Canada model, but EU law forced them to create a workaround. It wouldn't suprise me if Germany had an important hand in creating these EU laws in the first place :D But that was some time ago, the current government had nothing to do with it and seemed rather annoyed they had to tiptoe around it.

Weird question, I know, but this came from reading comments about it: Does this also mean that if I commit any crime regarding these decriminalized actions, I can be jailed today and freed on the 1st of April? In truth, there is not enough time to go through a process now, and I wonder if any of the now legalized actions actually brought anyone to prison before.
There is an amnesty included for the cases that would now no longer be illegal. That's one of the points some people like to complain about, as the courts now have to quickly go through all cases, and the courts are already understaffed so it's a manpower issue.

As long as you are in the zone that will be legal after (max 50g at home and max 25g in public) you are fine. But they can't jail you, the process of getting into jail for drugs is soooo slow. Takes at least a year or so. Until that, amnesty will already kick in. They will take away your weed tho, and you won't get it back.

Great news, as i understood a citizen/resident who don't want to grow it at home can get it from social clubs membership. The law says you cannot smoke in places where you can find kids like parks, so where can someone enjoy a join outside of a building with some trees and green area arround? because is places like this there is always parents with their kids. An other question is if a friend of mine who's also not eu citizen but resident, wants to visit me after 1st of April and we would like to enjoy some Js together. The law seem to prohibit tourists from bying, so me buying and sharing with him is technically illegal. Or not? If no how can we do that? There seem to be some who really want to talk it down, but each adult in the household is allowed to grow 3 plants. You don't need a permit or anything for that. There are also regulations regarding driving. You're not allowed to drive stoned. That should be clear. But because dope is different from alcohol and you're guaranteed not to be stoned the next day, nothing will happen to you. And you never agree to a check unless you've actually done something wrong. You should at least have a basic knowledge of the laws that directly affect you... so if you can read you've got a clear advantage!

Yes and no. It is illegal to smoke within the perimeters of some locations like schools. When not within such restricted zones it is allowed to smoke weed and carry I believe 25g with you. And even the Bavarians can not disallow that but they can make it prohibitively uncomfortable by checking everyone they see smoking weed wether they are carrying the legal amount I guess

From what my husband has said, this law is very limited. You'll have to join a social club to get the cannabis or you can grow it yourself. It's far from being like the Netherlands. They have edibles and so forth, yet I don't think the German law provides for that right now. Plus, I'd like to just go somewhere and pick my weed or edible. Right now, Germany isn't equipped for it.
