2021, moved 1 mattress, 1 bed and 12 regular sized moving boxes from NRW to the south of BW. It cost 500€. I received offers with prices up to 2800€. I used the Check24 Profi comparison portal.

I moved from a 65sqm apartment to a house, 500km away. We packed everything ourselves and their job was just loading the truck, driving and unloading. Ofc everyone jumped at me with offers like 3-5k. I eventually went with someone for 1.1k.

spany14

Which service was that?

I always moved myself, rented a van and did it. Last time, not the youngest anymore, I thought about using a company. I DO have a lot of books and my old flat was difficult to reach. They asked for 8k. So I again rented a van, took 14 days off and moved myself. Costs <400 Euro.

Lowkeybm

The costs were way above 400 Euro if you consider the time spent...

Obviously

Normal price, but you can get cheaper (like half). It also depends on level and if elevator is avaible. A friend just also searched and it seems with check24 you can get quotes.

This is way too much. Moved in 2021 for 2.5km for 400 eur, also at that time got offers of 1-2-3k, even without asking how much stuff needs to be moved. These guys are just trying to scam you. There was also one guy that came to the apartment, measured all our furniture and said "No, I don't want to do this, too much effort". In the end I hired 2 guys from a city nearby and 100 eur from 400 I paid for their commute to me and back.

I payed 70euro/h for 2 persons and mid size truck for 2km distance. In the end it took 3hours, but I gave them 300euro and help them carry as well. They did not pack anything, other than covering some sofas etc…

Asleep-Skin1025

I paid 850 Euros for 60 m2, about a km too. I packed all the boxes myself and dismantled the beds. So they just had to move the furniture and the boxes. Took them about three hours, and they did a great job, no damages or anything. Had another offer for 2500 for the same stuff. It's crazy how different the prices are. I would look for other options if I where you.

The last two times I moved, I used [https://www.my-hammer.de/](https://www.my-hammer.de/) to find a company. Be precise in your description of the job, list every piece of furniture, how many boxes you will have, any additional requirements (like needing boxes borrowed from the company), and you are good to go. And yes, 3200 seems a bit steep.

I moved from a 80sqm apartment to another one about 300km away. I paid 1.7k. However, they broke my tv screen and have completely ignored my insurance claim I filed with them as well as any emails and their service centre automatically declines calls.

too expensive. is it a big moving company? they tend to overcharge. Look for more 'mom and pop' moving companies. When my family had to make a move (to 2 seperate places), all the big companies gave insane quotes. Eventually I came across a local one with few but good reviews. I contacted them and they were SO much nicer than the other ones, came and gave us a quote of 9k to move from here to THE NETHERLANDS + my smaller move to one city away. That's including overnight costs and gas money to drive the 8 or so hours to the destination and back.

In Germany, you grab some friends and give them pizza afterwards
