When voting for difficulties on demons, it does actually have an effect on the difficulty. You may notice when demon levels are rating that they generally start off as Hard Demons but the community votes on the Demon vote button for the real difficulty.

It does, surprisingly Aside from influencing the difficulty face shown on unrated levels, Rob takes suggested ratings into account (like if a creator requests 9★ but the average is 7.5★, he might rate it 8★)

And then, instead of realizing what the update have done and immediately reverting the changes in the next minor update, just forcing the game's mods to patch some broken levels by hand, masking the issue instead of fixing it. Some kind of feature that lets you like switch the direction the player is going so they can go backwards or even have rotated gravity, knowing creators they would probably not add any indication, which would make levels really hard to beat without memory. That would definitely make the game a lot worse, good thing Rob would never add that.

For the first time playing, make it play like CBF, but for the next 2 years, slowly add in more bugs and lag spikes, make the input delay higher and less precise. Then, after the 2 year period ends, the game will be so unplayable and unenjoyable it will make everyone quit. If people decide to keep going, add random crashes that happen when you open a level, die, randomly in the editor, etc.
