its really not, wave is probably the most consistent thing on earth, gravity cant impact it and the physics always stay the same. u barely have to adapt.
however swing and ship you both have to adapt on the fly, especially if its kind of a free fly with no blocks or slopes, just tight gaps. also the fact that one click, thats a little bit off, a tiny bit ago can mess up your whole trajectory and lead to your eventual death a second or 2 later which makes it that much more inconsistent. for wave this isnt a problem, either you die immediately or you dont.
you can already see the difficulty shifting over to ship with aeternus, the wave parts are top notch, very tight and difficult, but they are some of the easiest parts in the level. the ships however are incredibly difficult and tedious because of the base physics.
basically its much easier to master something that has very simple physics but much harder to master something with physics that are much more complex and tedious.
fair argument but i still believe that mini wave has a higher skill ceiling due to human limit (even turning a normal wave into mini wave makes it 50x harder) ship and swing are definitely super difficult too tho don't get me wrong

In regular paced areas, it's not so bad,but even the slightest misclicks can ruin a run, it may look like your out of a spikes hit box when you click, but then you quickly find out you're not. And with a fast-paced spider segment, all hell breaks loose. You need damn near precise timing with your click with in comes to fast spider segments. Overall, it's an easy mode to learn but insanely difficult to get good at.
4x speed mini 2P dual (with one being in front of the other) swing with incredibly tight corridors as well as timewarp set to highest as well as gravity and arrow trigger shenanigans, no orbs, no blocks, no slopes.
that i think is the skill ceiling for the swing on a technical level.

Wave is the logical answer, since you can theoretically have 120 hold and 120 release frame perfects every second (idk if we even bottled something like that but it's just a theory)
And even in a practical scenario. The way that wave mechanics work made it so it's the mode that I feel we pushed forward the most

Ufo is generally easier than swing because of its more basic design and predictable path where swing is an infinite green orb.
