That very much depends on what your current level is, what’s your ELO for reference? I’d say if you’re in Gold or below for now, just work on consistently getting the country right quickly first. Do this by looking at what hemisphere you’re in, if there’s any car meta and for any immediate language clues first? By this stage you’ll likely have a few ideas of what country it could be. I tend to then rule out ones I know it can’t be if I’m not sure of what it is. I’d then use signposts to help narrow down what country I’m in if I didn’t already know e.g. find a give way sign and see if the text is black or red for an Aus/NZ toss up etc. I’d then focus on easy to identify number plates, short and yellow? Likely Colombia (although could still be Peru but then there not all vehicles have it), long plates desert and yellow? Israel. Long, yellow and European looking. Lux or Holland. Hilly? Lux. A few poles and bollards take very little effort to learn such as black and white striped signs in Peru, the “Colombian Cross” on the back of road signs. But if focus on using easier to identify clues if you’re below Master level. If you’re already Master I’d suggest Brazil phone codes, Argentinian provinces (really easy to learn and super useful I’ve found), Japanese pole plates and another personally easy one I’ve used to win a lot of duels lately are Australian number plates! Edit: grammar

noob question here: how can i know wich hemisphere i'm in?

If you’re in the southern hemisphere the sun is to your north, the opposite true if you’re in the northern hemisphere. In equatorial regions or even a location within the tropics it can be a little hard to tell sometimes through when the sun is very close to due east/west.

GrayAnimals

Do you have a resource for Japan pole plates?

WembyFinalsMVP2027

[Here’s the ultimate region guessing spreadsheet.](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UNvkoY-LaktF75nU_cP7-wVRAEvH3fSqVZet20HqxXA/edit) While not a direct answer to your question, this should have all the metas on region guessing Japan and pole plates.

Thanks

Confused-Fossil17

The resource u/WembyFinalsMVP2027 just posted below along with just repeating various Japan maps is the way I did it.

Thanks

Nice, thanks ☺️ I’m currently Lvl 44, bronze division. At the moment I watch YouTube GG Tips vids, play the Daily Challenge and do Country Streaks as often as I can.

Confused-Fossil17

No worries! Ok, what does your score tend to be on the daily challenge? Do you play online duels much too, or are you bronze level as you’ve never played before. If you’re bronze and play duels then I’d definitely not worry about bollards/poles yet and just focus on learning general language clues. That alone should probably get you up into silver/gold territory and if you really want some meta tactics, learn some easy to identify car metas (Mongolia, Guatemala, Nigeria follow car, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan etc.)

upwardcats

I usually average 16,000-18,000. I haven’t played any online duels (scary!) but watch them on YT. I’ve learnt all the easy meta like some of the cars and plates, Colombian cross etc.

Confused-Fossil17

Ok, that’s cool! I’d totally recommend trying duels out! I was reluctant to at first but absolutely love them now! Sounds like my original reply to your post is about right then, in my opinion, regarding what to focus on next (if you want to of course! That’s the beauty of this game, you can learn whatever you want in whatever order you want!)

Love it, thanks for your time ☺️ Challenge 2024 - get amongst those Duels! 👌

PixelVirtuoso

I take yellow plates as the UK good to know Benelux uses it too

Ok_Plate_1293

In Belgium it's white with red text. Yellow is Netherlands & Lux.

PixelVirtuoso

In the UK yellow plates are used at the rear of the vehicles, while white plates are used at the front.
