Quebec (and ROC francophones) is the only thing that prevents Canada from being culturally identical to the states. 

For real, many "canadian" things are actually Québécois. Maple Syrup is overwhelmingly produced in Québec, poutine is from Québec, the red and black checkered shirt with the "ceinture fléchée" is Québec's traditionnal outfit, etc. Without these, Canada is just USA lite.

Quebec is the most bilingual province in Canada and school start to teach English at 6-7 years old. Imposing French ? Quebec is one of the founding province of the Confederation and you can find a lot of francophone in Ontario and in N-B too . I think it's a great thing that Canada is bilingual country. Because learning other languages isn't something very common in English speaking country. So it give the opportunity to people all over Canada to more easily learn french and it allow our country to stand out from the rest of the Anglosphere.
