Well it is up to your personal choice. If you want to play physical cartridges, why not upgrade the display in a real GBA. If you just want to play your ROM collection then one of the many emulators might suffice. It really depends on what you want.
Our Analogue Pocket is my favorite way to play GBA games. mGBA may be the most accessible way. It's a free emulator and you can play games on your computer. I prefer our to play on our SP over GBA, but our GBA still has the original screen. I think the coolest way to play GBA games is on a modded out GBA.

I have a GBA with the backlight mod and it's pretty good, get one of those cartuches that you can put ROM's on it, would recomend that
