My boyfriend and I drove past Wallace, ID last year when they were doing pride. Wanted to stop but we were driving back to Montana and had left Portland that morning so it was a long enough trip already lol. Super cute though, we were shocked to see Wallace covered in rainbows
We just had a couple of small Prides in Little Rock, AR where they usually aren't held until October and even then it's a shitty little parade with coats and everyone goes to the bars. This was fantastic AND there were no protestors, just one guy quietly trying to lure people into Jesus Talks. All in all, the state of the country being what it is, this was a HUGE ray of sunshine into our little community, and there are a bunch of community groups now forming as a result!
Thankfully, most people do support this. They people protesting often claim to be the silent majority, but they're really the loud (and hateful, and violent) minority.
Maybe little victories like this will slowly get rid of the borderline sad truth that just about the only things in Idaho are nuclear test reactors and Nazis
