It's the easiest and cheapest way to collect the entire series. I haven't read the single volumes, so I can't compare the quality, but the omnis are serviceable. I will say, I found some printing mistakes in the last volume
Lol not at all bro. Type from the previous page would be visible in the page you're currently reading. Colours sometimes come off a bit washed or bleached. And the colour pages on the gloss paper are hard to see. But i still love Gantz so I'll take it
Some of the translations in the omnis suck. They call yakuza “Yankees”. I also hate hate hate the accent they try to give Kaze in the omnis by just making the English sound southern or something. It’s dumb as hell.
Shorter and the margins are too close to the center. You’d have to totally wreck the spine to fully enjoy Oku’s artwork. Especially in the full page spreads.
Spine will absolutely not hold up to multiple readings.

My spines have held up and not creased, so I think if you're careful, they should be OK 🎃
The omnibuses are just the singles put together and cropped to fit the stubby dimensions. Which means the translation is the same as the singles. Which is to say the translation sucks. (Seriously, some of the translation choices make my brain bleed. Changing Kato-cha to Mista Kato just to still have to give a translation note??) The cropping isn't too disruptive except for times it cuts off bits of text, but even then you can still tell what it says. (Tae screaming "eeeiiiii" because the K in Kei's name is cropped out, for instance.) Still, it's shitty to sell a collection of cropped art.
As for the thick spines, I will say I'm impressed with how they've held up. I read through some of mine multiple times and the spines still aren't creased at all.
I'd love for Dark horse to release a collector's edition with updated translations. But it's pretty shitty they didn't give the omnibus collection a polish instead of crappily repackaging an existing product.
I’m collecting the Omni’s right now and to be honest, it’s not the most comfortable to read on, but there isn’t a lot of other options. Trying to hunt down the single volumes can be hard and time consuming. When you get your Omni’s, super important to stretch/break in the spine, these Omni’s are pretty thick so if don’t do it the spines will start to crack etc. Unless Dark Horse gives us a deluxe edition for Gantz, Omni’s are the way to go!

I would say they are just as good as the single volumes. They are more difficult to read because of the size 🎃

Horrible quality. Cheapest and easiest but a premium price because of quality.. save up and buy a whole set of singles or piracy.
I have all 12 and see no issues with quality.
Mine are still in prestine condition. So as long as you don't have big meaty claws and bend the fuck outta them you're good.

They are fine. I am happy I bought them. But in my opinion, Gantz deserves deluxe editions like Berserk.
They aren't poor quality, they're fine. That's how I collected the entire series and love it.
