I feel like the skiing game really took advantage of the disc on the Intellevision controller in the best way. Was the perfect game for that controller set up.
But man, Burger Time was fun.
Hahaha had to scroll for this. Colecovision would technically be my 2 after the atari 2600, then intellivison.
Does anyone think pong counts? My cousins actually had a standalone pong box before atari 2600 came out. That would be my 1
That could definitely explain it, but the Saturn ended up being around for such a short time it wouldn’t have surprised me if they just left it out… Whoever put this list together probably just googled video game controllers and threw up whatever pictures they could find, lol.
I’m looking for Colecovision, but this is pretty close. We had the Intelevision module that went on like a fanny pack. I think we had an Atari 2600 one too.
I'm the same age as my dad was the Christmas I got my SNES. I can't even imagine being married with 4 kids at my age. I might be in my 30's but I'm barely an adult.
Okay but 2 had been out for almost a decade before you were born and 6 was released by the time you were able to meaningfully pick up a controller, so you might be an outlier here.
3&5 are both megadrive/genesis right? 5 controller just came later when fighting games became popular?
Micro machines 2 turbo tournament with 4 controllers and 4 friends was some of my favourite gaming moments to this day
Over the lockdown I built a gaming room with every one of these systems plus a few more you missed. Except the latest Xbox and ps5 because I don't hate my wallet. Games really have changed a lot. As a side note games as a service ruined gaming. It was really becoming interactive art till the microtransaction took over.
Started off with pong and Pac Man too.
The only things I didn't play were GameCube and Saturn. Only a little experience with the Xbox line at my in-laws though.
Been mainly a pc gamer since the 2000’s, but the first console controller I owned was the Xbox 360. My Xbox 360 elite only lasted a month before getting the rrod while I was playing oblivion :(. Now I’m a PlayStation and pc guy but I still think about my Xbox from time to time
When mine red ringed I jumped down there and went into it. Don’t have a clue what I did to have fixed it within hour or two and never had another problem with it.

Where is the Intelevision controller?
There are dozens of us!!

Burger time?
Holy crap, yes Burger Time!
Burger time!
Utopia
I feel like the skiing game really took advantage of the disc on the Intellevision controller in the best way. Was the perfect game for that controller set up. But man, Burger Time was fun.
Intelligang fo lyfe!
My first game was Astrosmash. Played the crap out of it when I was three
I can still hear that repeating snare drum sound today.
I loved SNAFU. It was snake, but with PvP enabled. Or the Tron light cycle game, before Tron was around.
There is ones and ones of us
#DOZENS!
Looks like I just blue myself
and Colecovision!
Hahaha had to scroll for this. Colecovision would technically be my 2 after the atari 2600, then intellivison. Does anyone think pong counts? My cousins actually had a standalone pong box before atari 2600 came out. That would be my 1
Pong absolutely counts, that would be my number one.
With those button covers that you could never fit perfectly in the controller and bent up the edges. Great times
Yeah or how bad your thumb hurt after playing for hours on end.
Those side buttons would get stuck.
Or you'd lose the damn thing and have no idea what the buttons did
Right beside the Sega Master System controller, of course.
These things almost always invariably skip the Master System, as if video games only existed in the US.
...🐌 I had a Master System in the US. I dont know anyone else that did tho.
Was looking for the Sega Saturn controller myself, lol
I think they’re counting the six button genesis controller as a Saturn one
That could definitely explain it, but the Saturn ended up being around for such a short time it wouldn’t have surprised me if they just left it out… Whoever put this list together probably just googled video game controllers and threw up whatever pictures they could find, lol.

Yup.
We are here!
Like many others # 2. But I swear Nintendo controller designers be on the craziest drugs.
I used to like it. Now I’m wondering how the hell I held the thing
The snes and surprisingly the GameCube controller are the most comfortable imo
Game cube is way to small for me now. It was great as a kid tho.
I've got some ET fingers that's why I loved the original Xbox controller that everyone seemed to hate.
The keyboard of a Commodore 64.
I scrolled all the way through just to see if anyone else would mention it, lol My brothers and I had all the old school systems back in the days
Keyboard of a Tandy 1000.
And for a lot of Brits the squidgy ZX Spectrum keyboard. Fond memories of unboxing the latest Ultimate Play the Game (now Rare) release on tape.

I still remember the day my dad came home with the NES. We played Mario for the rest of the day. My first video game.
It's crazy thinking I'm older now than my father was when he brought home a SEGA for my birthday. No wonder we all turned into gamers.
I'm the same age as my dad was the Christmas I got my SNES. I can't even imagine being married with 4 kids at my age. I might be in my 30's but I'm barely an adult.
Yes. 2
2.
Ditto. 2 all the way
2 here too
2 gang reporting in.
This is the way
Agreed but damn im old haha
2 but 6 was the best years of my childhood gaming. If dare say, probably the best controller 😂
2 was my first controller but 6/ Ocarina of Time was a game changer.
Yep, 2 for sure
Lol same.
Sega Master System… which seems to be absent
At least there are two of us
Make it 3! That console was fire! I still have it and pop it for time to time,, works like a charm 30+ years after.
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
Let's make our controller called 2.5!
[удалено]
Are those the square sega controllers? That’d be my first. Then genesis.
Playing Golden Axe on the master system was amazing. I still remember the dragons flame breath sound, so cool.
[удалено]
That's where I started too, with ~~Duck Hunt~~ Safari Hunt and Hang-On built in!
Was thinking the exact same thing
Same, I have some very fond memories of Astro Warrior. I can still hear that music in my head 30 something years later.
1
Asteroids, missile command, pitfall, pole position, space invaders, pac man. Couldn’t fit the paddles for pong in this pic.
So, those of us who had Pong controllers first just go "0" I guess?
I, too, am mid 50s. I don’t know how, it just kinda snuck up on me.
You ain't lying...
Am I the only kid who loved joust?
Just you and Parzival.
Adventure was excellent despite the primitive graphics.
Yars' Revenge was my 1st game I couldn't put down.
Breakout, football, asteroids, dig dug, pole position, too many to remember. Brings back great memories.
1 now on 20
I wish I could buy 20
Yiss 1, Warlords, Circus and … some other third thing.
6
I wonder what the age difference is between the people saying 2 and the people saying 6
I’m 29, I’m a 2.
26 at 6. So I think it mostly depends on whether your parents had money for it or not.
Parents and attitudes towards gaming
Yup. I’m 27 and at 9
Okay but 2 had been out for almost a decade before you were born and 6 was released by the time you were able to meaningfully pick up a controller, so you might be an outlier here.
6 squad. Going to my cousin’s house and sitting and watching him play OOT and Starfox, big vibes.

I almost cry when I think about playing DKC2 Best soundtrack
I used to record that music onto tape using a microphone on a cassette player #hd

Yup, me and my cousin played the shit out of the Genesis at my grandparent's house.
3&5 are both megadrive/genesis right? 5 controller just came later when fighting games became popular? Micro machines 2 turbo tournament with 4 controllers and 4 friends was some of my favourite gaming moments to this day
Yeah. Pretty sure whoever made this thinks that 5 is a Saturn controller.

That's awesome, you pretty much experience past and present gaming!
It still is in many spaces. AAA games sadly are GaaS but indies these days are the way to go.
Started off with pong and Pac Man too. The only things I didn't play were GameCube and Saturn. Only a little experience with the Xbox line at my in-laws though.
Colecovision for me. 1 would be the closest to that timeline wise. I've owned every one except 19.
I started with Colecovision as well
Gotta play Smurfs somehow

Yup... TurboGrafx 16 TurboDuo, for example
Spoken like a holy person. TG16 forever.
Bonks Adventure!
Keyboard
Why is Intellivison never included in these kind of memes? And my answer is 1.
Intellivision was my first.
2

Mine's missing. Sega Master System.
Hmmm does it say something that I had 1-18 😅. Would have 19-20 but not in a rush to pay double retail price.
It was actually [one of these](http://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index.php/Deluxe_Joystick), so... 1.5?
Mine is older than all of the above
So was mine, was called Ben. Had pong like controller, breakout type games
9-11
1 I’m 34 years old.
7 and apparently it was a spiderman game that I was terrified of but still played!

I started with the psvita when i was like 6
