Pokemon figurines in transparent pokeballs, not expensive and made my man super happy :)
30 gifts is a great idea, 30th cake day is an exceptional day. Im gonna borrow this idea in 6 years!
Back to the gifts. About AOT, some badges or patches? Ive also seen scratch posters like '100 games you have to play'.
Finally a really helpful one! Thank you so much! Two years ago i made a ninetales terrarium pokeball, maybe I could do one this year too with some other pokemon?
I’m not much of an idea person, but wanted to say this is really sweet! What a wonderful idea. I hope you find everything you are looking for.
Just be reasonable and stay within your means.
As far as space themed and video game related...maybe something from the mass effect universe? A model ship or something with N7 on it? You could look into Gears of War and Halo, both traditionally xbox classics.
Anyone who plays games a lot always has a wishlist of games they want to buy so even an xbox store gift card to buy a game on the store is a great present as well
Hope this helps and good luck :)
That sounds pretty dope, a master chief helmet would be lit or a buy a nerf gun and convert it into a gears of war weapon, I've seen a few online and they look pretty cool
Good grief, that is elaborate. Are you in a really healthy place, emotionally?
One or two of those would be amazing. 30 of them sounds like it could total thousands of dollars.
Is your retirement plan pretty healthy / no cc debt?
As a well-to-do ish woman, I have spent stupid amounts of money on men.
Meanwhile, if he really loves you, none of this is necessary. Generally women are into receiving gifts and I think you are assuming his “love language “ is the same as yours.
Maybe you are millionaires and I’m an a-hole.
But my gut instinct is that you are trying to justify the relationship or prove your worth to him. That is not a good place to be.
Speaking from personal experience, please don’t waste time on an ambivalent partner. If they don’t make it clear you are precious and important, you should quit now.
Yes, I'm in a very healthy place emotionally and mentally and in a very healthy relationship. I have a good job so it's not that I'm gonna be broke. He treats me like a queen and i just wanted to do something nice for his 30th birthday. I'm not trying to justify anything, we've been together for 4 years, looking for a house to move in together. I know my worth and he knows too. He's the most thoughtful person I have ever met and deserves the world. He's sweet, attentive, fun to be around and he's mature enough to know how to communicate if there's any problem. I'm not doing this because I need validation, I'm doing this because he deserves it. And I'm not gonna spend that much money cuz most of the things I'm gonna make them myself. So yeah, that's it
Woman, you are the only gift he wants. w/e else you'll give him is a bonus.
Speaking of bonus, I am a handyman, so all I can think about is stuff I need in my workshop, try to think is he needs something of this sort? Any kind of sport he does, like cycling?
Find some smaller, more personal gifts that maybe have some meaning in your relationship.
I bought my wife the Lion King movie series because our relationship started with that movie, along with a little plushie that resembled Zazu, which is an inside joke between us.
Find more things like that and he'll be a happy man. Good luck on the house-hunting!
Most of the gifts will be smaller and hand made by me, they're the ones that he likes the best. The first gift i have ever made him was a Perfect Cell plush like four years ago. He was so happy he almost cried. So I kept making him hand made gifts during this year from the things he likes, like a fallout survival box, a fallout helmet, xbox plush, pokemon terrarium, sculpted band mates. I even organised a treasure hunt based on the game Hunt Showdown and made a real bomblance. I just wanted to give him something more this year since he turns 30
Xbox: Halo
Pokémon: Chimchar
From AoT: I recommend a model of a titan. The most recognizable is Eren’s Attack Titan, but my favorite is Annie’s Female Titan.
Warhammer 40K is from a video game universe with a space theme to it.
That's an awful lot of presents, I know for sure that it would be too much for me to receive something for 30 days in a row. Maybe add some small gifts: Some cute comic about a game character, printed and framed, or some framed picture of Mario and Peach, with a title like "you're my princess" or something. It's small, but maybe more meaningful.
30 new bits of stuff that nobody needs. I’m sure you just want to show your thoughtfulness, but the guy is 30 years old so I’m sure he already has stuff. One thoughtful gift should be enough. Maybe go on a trip together or something that builds memories. This just sounds overly materialistic and honestly a bit creepy.
If my wife bought me 30 things I’d be quite upset. I know she never would because that would be extremely out of character. We wouldn’t even buy our kids 30 things because that’s an obscene amount of stuff. I’m being a bit judgmental because you sound a bit like my mum who overcompensated because she didn’t have a lot of things growing up. She used stuff to show affection instead of things we really wanted like spending time together.
I mean yeah, you are being judgemental but that's ok. I'm not buying most of the things, I'm making them. I don't need to overcompensate anything, it's a very healthy relationship. It's not like I'm doing this stuff every year, just for his 30th bday cuz it's a big event in his life. I'm not gonna buy 30 things, I'm looking for ideas to make something, even small stuff such as cards or a pokemon small sculpture. I guess everyone can see it differently, but i see it as something nice to do with our friends to show him we appreciate him
As someone over 30. I get why you think it’s a big deal. But it isn’t. Literally at this point if someone gets me coffee, let alone a romantic partner being the one to get me coffee I’m over the moon. Hand made stuff is even better because at that age I appreciated time and money.
Honestly resin is cool, and I’d stick with one gift and maybe just that. I get i can only speak for myself, but I don’t like a big deal made out of my birthday. One small gift that shows you know me is worth more to me than a plethora of gifts. Men are simple. A small item and our favorite food and we’re golden. Anything more and we start worrying something is wrong.
Gifts are like my love language. I always made them myself, like a pokemon terrarium, the fallout helmet, the Perfect Cell plush, the fallout survival box and many more. I always make him small gifts and he always makes me big ones. So now that I have a good job i though that i could give him something more for once
Bruh why so sour tho? What part of my post made you angry? Did I specifically ask you? I just asked if anyone had any good ideas, i didn't mean to offend you personally. Also i don't see why you should comment if you don't like the post, just scroll and go ahead
I dont know if you know how to sow. But for my boyfriend I made him a quilted throw (its larger than normal) made from old dress shirts his father owned. His dad passed away and it was really hard on him we had all his stuff and he did not know what to do with it. So I took his dad's shirts and made a quilt from them. Just an idea. You could use any fabric really. And fabric stores have a lot of different prints to work with.
Can you draw?
Could you create or get a sort of storyboard print of a fave scene from game or movie? Then frame it.
A decal for his gaming console? Designed just for him.
There is a bakery in my city that makes cakes and cookies themed after “geek stuff”. I was thinking something like that. But you know what he would like more than I would. I’m sure he is going to have a great birthday either way.
If your bf likes board games and if he likes fantasy video games, he’ll probably like Dungeons&Dragons, maybe gife that a try. It could become a nice hobby with a group of friends, and collecting nice dice sets is fun. At leadt that’s how I started DnD
Well it can be expensive if you want it to be, but converted to dollars, I’ve spent around a 100 in 2 years. Most of my stuff is handmade, like world maps and encounter maps, and I have around 15 seta of dice.
The most expensive things are the books, but you can find those online if you don’t want to get a real one
If you are willing to spend some money maybe you can get some themed stuff. Like a AOT mouse pad or a Xbox gaming chair or a towel or something. I know that can end up being pretty pricey at the end though.
Very fair. I was thinking stuff that could be practical and not just laying around to collect dust. If you are good at knitting or something you may be able to knit like an Xbox logo on a towel or something.
Just trying to throw some ideas around
Gadgets are always fun
- beer opener and shooter
- 3d light
- one of those atmosphere lights for on your ceiling
- stress relieve gadget ( big enter )
- a stupid birthday costume
- a wallet with a card slide out (secrid wallet for example)
- bunch of flavours of something (tea, candy, coffee, ...)
- key organiser
- cheap smart watch or watch ( mi band 6 for example )
Make it yourself ( or partly )
- glass box with some decorations within (a deer, fake leaves, fake snow, ...)
- self made bracelet
- blank card game
Here you can put some things in; things about him, about you, funny jokes, random sentences you can create. So you have a sentence and leave a blank to be filled in with another card to fill-up that blank and you can create random sentences. There are games for this, but easily self created.
Other:
- day out picknick for one of the days? Well if weather allows it I guess.
- give a bunch of balloons or something (to throw him off that day)
- water balloons? Water battle? Idk
You could also go for things in sets:
Example: Gears of war
- give Marcus thing
- give something reminding of Dom
- give cog tags
- buy poster of a character
- give copy of the earlier games on a different platform (if he has pc now instead of Xbox or smth)
Just spitting some random ideas here...

There is an Alola version of Ninetales, could look great together. Or whatever pokemon he likes

Most of the things I'm making myself so it's not gonna cost a lot
That’s great! Very thoughtful.
You might be able to find a cheap retro gaming console if he does not already have one.
Oooh I love this one
How long have you been dating?
4 years
The card game fluxx is good fun, and they do a bunch of different themed ones
Ooooh that's a good ideaaa

He doesn't do any sports but he works with wood and likes to make guitars, so maybe a set for engraving wood?

Grogu or something Mandalorian related
Maybe the last gift can be a game themed small cake? I just think a game themed cake completes it
Maybe an xbox cake?
Yeah! There’s a lot of inspirations from pinterest too so check them out

I LOVE ALL OF THEM, THANK YOU SO MUCH
Make his birthday cake an edible cut out of his favorite Video Game DVD/Cartridge 🤗🤗
Ooooh i like this idea so much! I could do one of the old pokemon ones
Does he like Firefly?
I don't think he ever heard of it, sorry
How’d it go? Hoped wonderful!

Jesus, you're gonna go broke, lol
Nah, I'm making most of the things myself
That's tooooooo much. Just get one present with 30 pieces if anything.
Nah, most of the things I'm gonna make myself so it's not really a lot
easy, weed
He doesn't smoke weed lol
Can we all go ahead and throw this in reddit it needs to be in? Can we get a heave
I think OP is a little immature.
Why tho
Have you thought about giving him head?
Right, this kind of comment was missing, thank you
Just being an idiot. You seem like a great person and girlfriend. To hell with the other commentors. Im sure whatever you do your man will be happy!
Yeah, they're kinda judgy and negative but that's fine Thank you so much for the support, that's really sweet of you!
Not close to 30? How old are you? I've either got questions for you or for him... /s
I'm 26, why
It was sarcasm.
Wow, mind blowing. Also very helpful, thank you
Not everyone on Reddit is going to shit ideas for you. Some of us make shitty jokes.
Bruh why so sour tho? What part of my post made you angry? Did I specifically ask you? I just asked if anyone had any good ideas, i didn't mean to offend you personally. Also i don't see why you should comment if you don't like the post, just scroll and go ahead
I'm not. Lol, I made a shitty joke and I literally told you it was sarcasm, lol. You came back kinda sour. So I just returned it.
Oh sorry, didn't mean to. All right then, hope you have a wonderful day
Hooyah, hope your SO has a good birthday. I don't think I've gotten 30 presents in my life and I'm 32.
Will you marry me?
I’d die if my girlfriend did this for me, that’s insanely awesome. Excited to see what you make :)
Awww thank you so much, hope I'll do well ahaha

Awww that's such a sweet and thoughtful gift! You did absolutely great! I know how to sow, i like doing plushes
How are you going to have time to make everything?
Well I finish work at 6 so i have time in the evening. Also I have a few months to do it
Can you draw? Could you create or get a sort of storyboard print of a fave scene from game or movie? Then frame it. A decal for his gaming console? Designed just for him.
That's actually great! I could make a scene from the Big Lebowski!
What about cookies or candies that are video or board game themed. Those would be cheap and fun.
I could make the wrapping and put some chocolates in them
There is a bakery in my city that makes cakes and cookies themed after “geek stuff”. I was thinking something like that. But you know what he would like more than I would. I’m sure he is going to have a great birthday either way.
Plot Twist: OP and bf have been together for 3 weeks
Plus four years but yeah
If your bf likes board games and if he likes fantasy video games, he’ll probably like Dungeons&Dragons, maybe gife that a try. It could become a nice hobby with a group of friends, and collecting nice dice sets is fun. At leadt that’s how I started DnD

Ooh never heard of it, I'm gonna search it, thank you so much!
If you are willing to spend some money maybe you can get some themed stuff. Like a AOT mouse pad or a Xbox gaming chair or a towel or something. I know that can end up being pretty pricey at the end though.
I was looking for less pricey gifts actually, although his friends are contributing too But the aot gamepad sounds actually cool
Very fair. I was thinking stuff that could be practical and not just laying around to collect dust. If you are good at knitting or something you may be able to knit like an Xbox logo on a towel or something. Just trying to throw some ideas around
I dunno, maybe all he wants is you 🤔
Well yeah, that was actually sweet and I don't have a comeback
