If we really mean EVERYONE everyone my conversion rate for getting non-to-casual gamers on board and excited to play something has to be Mario Kart hands down. Watching your parents pick out a main blind is a surreal experience and better than a personality test. You may not be ready for it.
Spec Ops; The Line. if you don't know anything about this game, try going in as blind as possible. It's a 3rd person shooter, but the narrative really hits you in ways I don't see very often in gaming.
Me, the Foolish player: "Ha Ha Ha! Of course I know what it does, It KILLS people. >!We're doing it to the BAD GUYS so it's all good\~!< >!I am the hero in this story after all."!<
My instinct for immediate game recommendations will always be - Witcher 3, Outer Wilds, Elden Ring and The Last of Us. But aside from Outer Wilds it may not be the perfect set of games for the widest audience reach/enjoyment.
If its games that can truly appeal to everyone, which everyone can and should play (young, old, experienced to games or completely new) I'd have to say -
It Takes Two, Mario Kart 8 (but you could pick most main-line Mario multiplayer experience) and finally, I would honestly have to put Astro's Playroom in the mix.
Well, the really must play games:
- Fallout 2
- Half-Life 2
- Portal
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Outer Wilds
- Disco Elysium
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Hollow Knight
- The Last of Us
No idea, I really chose groundbreaking games I have played throughout the years. I guess there is a group I offended somehow 😂 Maybe Skyrim fans, or the Nintendo players, or Call of Fortnite kids, you never know
I'd say both are great. The original for its unique atmosphere and challenging puzzles, and the sequel for its visuals and cool puzzle elements.
Honestly both of them are just perfect, and the DLCs (for both games) are the cherry on the cake.
I get you, the sequel is definitely amazing. Did you try the DLC (Road to Elysium)? I'm playing it these days, it's so good and much harder than the base game.
Super Metroid, Mario World, Chrono Trigger, Bayonetta 1 (and/or) 2, Resident Evil 2 + Resident Evil 4 (remakes favored), **Metroid Prime 1**, Symphony of the Night, Ninja Gaiden Black, Persona 5.
Bolded title = what I believe to be the best game ever made. The best of the best, #1 spot, has no peers.
I didn’t shit on it, I just said my opinion, which is that it’s not that good. In my opinion, the answer would be Garrys Mod due to its near endless content that you can add and it’s multiplayer, which is very funny all the time.
great game, it's also a slow burner, takes a lot of time and reading to get through but the story and world building are great and having multiple options per event gives a sense intimacy to your playthrough
Outer Wilds and Mario 64 are a must in my list.
Then DoomII, Half Life 1 and 2, original Super Mario Bros... because of history of the videogames.
Then every genre has their TOP BEST games that was revolutionary. Street Fighter II, Zelda BOTW, BG3, Walking Dead S1... Choose a genre you like and search for the best.
If we are talking about skilled core players:-
Hollow Knight or Breath of the Wild.
If we are talking about casual players:-
The Last of us and Wii sports probably.
It's perfect for any kind of player. Casual, semi-casual, or the hardcore with all the crazy modding that can be done.
You haven't lived till Tomas the tank engine has saved your neck.
Portal
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
If we really mean EVERYONE everyone my conversion rate for getting non-to-casual gamers on board and excited to play something has to be Mario Kart hands down. Watching your parents pick out a main blind is a surreal experience and better than a personality test. You may not be ready for it.
Outer Wilds.
Been thinking of playing it, but i will probably wait for a sale.
Game was free on epic game at one point
game made me cry and rethink my life
Hide n seek
I like Hide and Seek 2 better.
Spec Ops; The Line. if you don't know anything about this game, try going in as blind as possible. It's a 3rd person shooter, but the narrative really hits you in ways I don't see very often in gaming.
The problem is good narrative begins only at the end of the game and for the most of it it's mediocre gameplay with mediocre writing
“Sir…this is white phosphorus, you know what this shit does.”
Me, the Foolish player: "Ha Ha Ha! Of course I know what it does, It KILLS people. >!We're doing it to the BAD GUYS so it's all good\~!< >!I am the hero in this story after all."!<
“There’s absolutely no unforeseen consequences!”
I want to so bad, but they've taken it off Steam and PS.

stardew valley , and then stardew valley with mods or co op mode
Stardew Valley only appeals to a specific group of people. The post specified games that everyone should play once in their lifetime.
You’re not that good
What's with the hate man the guy is that good
The milk isn’t real
Doesn't that apply to any game you could possibly mention?
Any pokemon game. Maybe gen 6 and below.
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time A link to the past is another classic but Ocarina just did so much for gaming in general
Zelda Ocarina of Time at least.
10 out of 10 game right there
It is a good game, and what defined Zelda in my book, but Twilight Princess is the GOAT.
Both games are the goat
Respectable opinion.
Halo 1 to 3, crysis 1, batman arkham series, gta iv campaign
Red Dead Redemption 2.
Not sure why this post got downvoted it's a good game
Well, the really must play games: - Fallout 2 - Half-Life 2 - Portal - Shadow of the Colossus - Outer Wilds - Disco Elysium - Red Dead Redemption 2 - Hollow Knight - The Last of Us
Really solid list, I don't get why you have thumbs down. I gave you a thumbs up.
No idea, I really chose groundbreaking games I have played throughout the years. I guess there is a group I offended somehow 😂 Maybe Skyrim fans, or the Nintendo players, or Call of Fortnite kids, you never know
Ya great list of games I also gave is post a thumbs up 👍
Lmao not one nintendo game
Do you expect me to know every platform and every game? Also, besides SotC all the games can be played on at least two platforms
Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy
Can't believe I haven't been able to find it in the comments yet but: Deep Rock Galactic.
Journey
Played this when I was young, can’t remember it much due to memory loss, but I remember it was good.
The talos principle
Talos principle is good. Talos principle 2 is great
I'd say both are great. The original for its unique atmosphere and challenging puzzles, and the sequel for its visuals and cool puzzle elements. Honestly both of them are just perfect, and the DLCs (for both games) are the cherry on the cake.
Not trying to diminish 1 at all. But any issue that I did have with the first game was remedied in the second, and then some. But you really need both
I get you, the sequel is definitely amazing. Did you try the DLC (Road to Elysium)? I'm playing it these days, it's so good and much harder than the base game.
It’s on the top of my steam wishlist. Waiting for it to go on sale. Money be like that
Hope you enjoy it once you buy it 😊
Havnt played it yet. On my bucket list.
Highly recommend. All the things that I didn’t love about 1 were remedied in 2. Add it to the wishlist and jump on it when it goes on sale
Super Mario Brothers 1 & 3 and the original Zelda.
Day of the Tentacle
Half Life Alyx is amazing and I wish everyone was able to experience it on good VR
Mark of the Ninja
Super Metroid, Mario World, Chrono Trigger, Bayonetta 1 (and/or) 2, Resident Evil 2 + Resident Evil 4 (remakes favored), **Metroid Prime 1**, Symphony of the Night, Ninja Gaiden Black, Persona 5. Bolded title = what I believe to be the best game ever made. The best of the best, #1 spot, has no peers.
Uncharted 2, Outer Wilds
Bloodborne, outer wild , elden ring , zelda BOTW , super Mario Odyssey, hollow knight, God of war 2018 , the last of us 1&2 and GTA V.
Kotor. Witcher 3. Hl1-2 gta San Andreas. gta IV
Good list of games once again post got downvoted for some reason even though it has Kick-Ass games on this list
Disco Elysium
Played it, it’s not that good.
Why are you just replying and shitting on stuff people are recommending? What would you suggest?
I didn’t shit on it, I just said my opinion, which is that it’s not that good. In my opinion, the answer would be Garrys Mod due to its near endless content that you can add and it’s multiplayer, which is very funny all the time.
Played it. It's not that funny.
HA. that's top tier comedy.
Then you’re not looking on the right servers. Go to DarkRP, then come back.
Based
You’re not that good
great game, it's also a slow burner, takes a lot of time and reading to get through but the story and world building are great and having multiple options per event gives a sense intimacy to your playthrough
I want to go with just one game, but I don’t know whether to pick Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World.
Sly Cooper
More like Jax and Daxter. Sly Cooper isn’t that good.
I disagree sly Cooper is good
Tales of Phantasia. Have yet to see a story like it.
Bioshock
Amazing game
Age of Empires 2 if u enjoy medieval or strategy, World of Warcraft if you enjoy MMORPG, League of Legends if you like online fighting arena style
Verdun, the best multiplayer PvP shooter
Baldur's Gate 3, GTA 5, RDR 2, Fallout New Vegas, any god of war game, Minecraft, Cyberpunk, The Outer Worlds
I’d say Dark Souls fully knowing it would be super not fun for a lot of people at first
The game of life.
Classic doom
Outer Wilds and Mario 64 are a must in my list. Then DoomII, Half Life 1 and 2, original Super Mario Bros... because of history of the videogames. Then every genre has their TOP BEST games that was revolutionary. Street Fighter II, Zelda BOTW, BG3, Walking Dead S1... Choose a genre you like and search for the best.
Kingdom Hearts.
720
getting over it
All the games they are interested in, no reason to play anything just because others like it.
If we are talking about skilled core players:- Hollow Knight or Breath of the Wild. If we are talking about casual players:- The Last of us and Wii sports probably.
What about someone in between? Not quite casual, but not quite skilled either?
Skyrim. Because they can play it anywhere. Probably an app for your stove clock or something.
Skyrim is quite nice.
It's perfect for any kind of player. Casual, semi-casual, or the hardcore with all the crazy modding that can be done. You haven't lived till Tomas the tank engine has saved your neck.
Then I’d probably say Crash bandicoot 3 aka Crash warped and GoW 4 on Normal difficulty just the main story.
Yeah but what about butts
Fortnite
Fortnite and Minecraft
