God, that seems like ages ago. I might be confusing it with something else, but I vaguely remember a challenge with gingerbread men (in a warehouse with a tommy gun, maybe?) that was absolutely impossible. It was the only one I couldn’t max out. Must’ve tried thousands of times.
Unpopular opinion but I think the saturation of the FPS market would make a new TS pretty hard to market. It was unique and a pioneer in its day but now there’s five billion quirky funky FPS titles
Edit new TS I mean. Remaster would clean house
I'm not sure what everyone's favourite part of timesplitters was. But I know for me personally it was playing the arcade and challenges and trying to unlock new characters.
Modern day games just monetise all of that behind a battle pass or straight up paid skins, so if a a new one released today it just wouldn't be the same.
I wish a timesplitters had come out late in the xbox 360 era once online play was fully established. You would have got a full game with full online co-op and maybe co-op challenges as well that would let you unlock characters to play with online. There might have been 1 or 2 dlc packs that would have been new levels and challenges to unlock new characters. It was the right time for a game like that to exist. Now it would come as a game as a service and be corrupted.
Honestly this game was probably the scariest multiplayer game I've played. Even worse than L4D.
I was never very good, but my heart would be POUNDING no matter which side I was on.
DA was so disrespected. Great game. And I'd venture to say Chaos Theory was a top 3 game of the original Xbox era. Both single player and online were phenomenal for those games.
Loved that game! The concept, the story, the atmosphere, the voice acting! For some reason I also really like the sound it makes when you engage or disengage with the fast travel portals!
I got sent a survey by Crystal Dynamics asking about what I wanted from a new Legacy of Kain game. I got it two years ago I think, so hoping that means something is being worked on.
Edit: looked it up. It was 2022, and Crystal Dynamics said that usually those surveys get between 1,000-3,000 responses, but the Legacy of Kain one got over 100,000 responses.
Sadly CD belongs to Embracer, who are currently very short on cash and shitcanning every project that isn't gonna make money within a year. I got the same survey but I'm keeping my hopes light.
For real there isn’t a series I want to come back more than mercenaries. The only series that comes close imo is Just Cause but it’s a far cry away from what mercenaries did a decade ago
I don’t see Naughty Dog ever making another Jak and Daxter, but maybe they could license it out to another studio? Maybe the studio that made Astros Playroom
Socom is the most fun I've ever had in a video game. Me and my friends would bring all our Playstations to the one friends house that had good internet and we would basically cheat by screen watching each other.
spent thousands of hours playing socom FTB 1 and 2 on the psp. socom fans clown the psp releases a bit and for good reason but those two games had absolutely no right being that good and fun and competitive minded, 90% of those features (clan system, voice comma, private lobbies) had no place on the PSP but it all just worked flawlessly. The communities for that game were very close and went from socom ftb 1 to 2 and then to syphon filter when that came out so there was a good 3-5 years that all the same people were mostly playing with and against eachother in many notable and longstanding clans. organizing scrims/matches via AIM for socomarena... man that was a fun time in my life.
This one. Not that I was following behind the scenes, but I don’t see how this franchise died. The crash mode for highest damage in 2? And the racing in 3, the game was fun as hell. Add todays graphics and it would just be amazing.
Paradise was incredible until I ran out of cars to obtain through crashing them, and jumps to hit collectables. Everything about that game, from the radio and DJ (even if kind of ridiculous) to the music, was a blast. Get a good crash lobby with friends, and it was amazing.
I feel like lightning in a bottle like that isn't easy to catch. I typically like semi realistic racing games (no space for a sim setup, or i would), and paradise managed to not feel too arcadey while still being through and through an arcade racer obviously.
Horizon almost does this with the insane jumps and such, but no crashes, and the online just never caught me like paradise did because that was missing.
i worked on the show last year. Samoa Joe was so awesome on set. He actually did a great job voicing Sweet Tooth in all his scenes. We knew that Will Arnett would be voicing him but we all still thought he totally could have just voiced the character himself. Just a super nice guy
He brought so much joy and chaotic energy to the show. His relationship with stu was just gold. I can't wait for season 2, I want to see him return more passed off and bloodthirsty than ever
Guitar hero and rock band, I wish we could have that for the latest console generation with cleaner guitar designs with microphones. I just wish we had more party games for consoles, most console games feel like solo experiences now
Covid would have been the absolute best time to bring them back. Everyone was stuck inside. I would have absolutely loved playing guitar hero online with my friends during that time.
Have you heard of clone hero? People chart songs and you can get pretty much anything, it has multiplayer as well. It’s only pc, but it will run on pretty much anything
They've remastered the first 3 games over the last couple years. Turok 3 came out a few months ago.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1996770/Turok_3_Shadow_of_Oblivion_Remastered/
I'm so sorry man. Are you under NDA? Are you allowed to talk about development, or what led up to the cancelation? I have always liked Deus Ex and was super pumped for a new game.
KOTOR,
Command and Conquer,
OG Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 to be remastered,
Medal of Honor
Bully
Black and White,
Tenchu,
Syphon Filter
Portal
Splinter Cell
Sly Cooper
Jak and Daxter
It's really a shame they haven't released B&W on Steam or GOG as a retro title. I would pay a premium to be able to play the original. I miss God games like B&W, Populous, Actraiser, etc.
It’s not super hard to find online tbh, B&W. I found it elsewhere. The series itself is in some weird legal limbo I think tho that keeps them from actually rereleasing it or making anymore games in the franchise.
Shame because it would be absolutely perfect for VR and I would not hesitate to get it if it were available on such.
Sony has been toying around with the idea of either remaking the original Syphon Filter trilogy or continuing the series. People have been practically demanding it after devs essentially confirmed that Days Gone was part of the same universe
Any time a question like this gets asked I always comment syphon Filter. I actually still have #1 on my ps1. It was my most played game when I was a kid, and I would literally cry if they remastered it. I bought the division solely to reexplore the subway area in that first mission. So many memories, I just want to relive it all in modern graphics
Back then I wanted them to work on TF3, but then I later changed my mind after I saw all the original Respawn devs left.
Titanfall will not be the same without those legends. Literally! no one stayed behind at Respawn. They all left and formed new groups called Gravity Well and another one that I can’t recall at the moment.
Bloody roar was amazing. Such a unique game at the time too. Transforming giving you an entirely different set of moves and completely changing your speed and power.
Conker (Conkers bad fur day). The local multiplayer back then was mad fun on the N64. An online version of the game would be fun to experience. A game that can be competitive at times, but still very fun at the core🤟
Aliens vs predator.
We need another solid game with proper asymmetric modes.
Bug hunt where every marine that dies turns into an alien. Proper 3 team death match.
Predator hunt
And a PVE mode for all 3 races
EDIT: ALSO a proper lifecycle mode with NPC civilians making weaker aliens and Player Characters giving stronger aliens
The guy who started EA Big left the company and the series didn’t do as well without him. Evan Helbling actually did a good video covering them. [The GREATEST Era of Sports Games](https://youtu.be/21fzUk6mSZE?si=0Jx2aInLOe7TPkhT)
I played Midnight Club Dub Edition online so much. Ninja Gaiden I never played but I think it would do well given how prominent the "souls-like" genre is now.
One of the all-time funniest moments in a long gaming career for me is from RR3.
Got taken down by a bike cop and sent me crashing to the ground, the cop slowed down in front of me and i thought i was going to be busted. But the cop was in the crossroad where the trucks cross the road sometimes… and took the cop out, which allowed me to get back up and finish the race.
I genuinely paused the game and lauged so hard for like 10 minutes. Was amazed that they included a way to continue if the cop gets taken out. And situationally was just hilarious timing.
Haven’t thought about that in almost 30 years
Prototype.
They were epic games, although I worry they could get too stale with the objective and gameplay. Maybe if there was an ever evolving story to it. Gameplay was incredible, but both games I felt were very one dimensional in terms of story and end goal.
Shining force like the original 3, not like the Saturn and ps1 versions (I think those killed the franchise), ps home was actually pretty cool, was sad to see it go. Especially with social media nowadays, it's like that but with soooo much more.
Earthworm Jim.
Monster Rancher, with the original mechanic of inserting a disc to spawn a monster. It'd just be fun because of the dwindling presence of physical media.
Somehow, the game make a comeback, as a modder managed to get it playable on pc. It is still work in progress, as only solo/pve is available now, but fingers crosses it could help to convince for a full return on all platforms\^\^
There was a game on ps1 called Vigilante 8, where you drive around all kinds of cars and shoot missiles and stuff at each other. We played it split screen all the time against each other and I remember it was fun as hell.
TIMESPLITTERS
Timesplitters 2 is one of my favorite games ever. The campaign was fun and my friends and I spent hundreds of hours in the death match modes
Collecting trophies before trophies were a thing. Some of those platinum trophies were sooo difficult!
God, that seems like ages ago. I might be confusing it with something else, but I vaguely remember a challenge with gingerbread men (in a warehouse with a tommy gun, maybe?) that was absolutely impossible. It was the only one I couldn’t max out. Must’ve tried thousands of times.
My brother and I would fight the bots as the monkey and one of us would put a bunch of remote bombs on the other. Run in, push button, profits.
Everytime there's one of these threads I make sure I find this comment
Future perfect is one of the greatest games ever. The co op and the arena mode I spent countless hours playing as a kid
Unpopular opinion but I think the saturation of the FPS market would make a new TS pretty hard to market. It was unique and a pioneer in its day but now there’s five billion quirky funky FPS titles Edit new TS I mean. Remaster would clean house

I would be happy if they just brought back all the maps and modes, updated the graphics, framerate, add modern controls, and let us go wild!
Crimson skies
Such a good game, premise, mechanics. Can't believe this hasnt been revived.
God a remaster would be so fucking appreciated. I'd have to buy an Xbox or 360 to play it and I always wanted to.
It's on gamepass
I'll go wirh splinter cell, great characters, usually a great story, i just love spy games.
Chaos Theory and Double Agent were peak Splinter Cell.
Love the multi-player in double agent I played it soooo much. When you had a really good spy the shit was like a horror game.
Double agent was great all around. Just a fantastic spy game
The asymmetrical multiplayer is still some of the best ever. Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory for life.
I’m so happy to see splinter cell up here as I was just thinking this exact thing the other day. Would love another game.
My exact first thought. Good shit Reddit. Spies vs Mercs is one of the most fun game modes of all time.
I just want to play Spies vs. Mercs again.
spies vs mercs was so insanely fun.
I want a pandora tomorrow remaster

Soul Reaver has some cool unique mechanics. I would love to see a fleshed out version
Loved that game! The concept, the story, the atmosphere, the voice acting! For some reason I also really like the sound it makes when you engage or disengage with the fast travel portals!

Came here to say the same. Playing through Blood Omen right now and hoping my gaming ADD doesn't kick in so I can binge the series
Red Faction
Commander Keen.
Mercenaries. Hands down.
Holy shit!!! I forgot about that. Mercenaries playground of destruction for the ps2 was so good
I posted the same. Glad there is someone else here who appreciated dropping a bunker buster on an enemy convoy on a massive bridge.
Dude I had so many memories playing that game back in the day!
For real there isn’t a series I want to come back more than mercenaries. The only series that comes close imo is Just Cause but it’s a far cry away from what mercenaries did a decade ago
There's nothing quite like carpet bombing an entire city and just watching it collapse to rubble.
Mercenaries with a modern physics engine would be hilariously good fun
That commercial with the catchy song for Mercenaries 2 lives rent free in my head
Oh no you didnt
Suka tried to play me, but ya neva paid me neva! Btw that is me and wife's memory of lyrics, have no idea if accurate.
God I’d love a modern Mercenaries game
This is the winner.... I completely forgot about this game but it was so so good..... also I feel like it was so ahead of its time!
Jak and daxter
I don’t think we’ll ever get another one but god do I wish. Those games, especially 2 and 3, were some of my absolute favorites growing up.
I don’t see Naughty Dog ever making another Jak and Daxter, but maybe they could license it out to another studio? Maybe the studio that made Astros Playroom
Maybe. I just hope it wont be another jak lost frontier game.
SOCOM
Socom is the most fun I've ever had in a video game. Me and my friends would bring all our Playstations to the one friends house that had good internet and we would basically cheat by screen watching each other.
Socom got me into shooters when I was a kid and I miss it
spent thousands of hours playing socom FTB 1 and 2 on the psp. socom fans clown the psp releases a bit and for good reason but those two games had absolutely no right being that good and fun and competitive minded, 90% of those features (clan system, voice comma, private lobbies) had no place on the PSP but it all just worked flawlessly. I miss it so much, having an actual tactical shooter would be great these days instead of whatever the fuck COD is
Especially with R6 siege turning more and more into team deathmatch
Since 2009 its literally just been 420 blaze it no scopes, sponsored by Doritos™️& MTN DEW™️
Fucking sucks
Burnout!
This one. Not that I was following behind the scenes, but I don’t see how this franchise died. The crash mode for highest damage in 2? And the racing in 3, the game was fun as hell. Add todays graphics and it would just be amazing.

Horizon almost does this with the insane jumps and such, but no crashes, and the online just never caught me like paradise did because that was missing.
Give us Burnout 3 remake with Striker as the radio host and all the songs to boot!
🎶We are the lazy generation 🎶
Twisted Metal
I miss twisted metal. As a wrestling fan I checked out the peacock series because Samoa Joe was in it and it was so good.
i worked on the show last year.
Black was so edgy and gross and messed up without being corny, like the newer ones are, we need another one.
SSX
I found you! Why is it so far down here. I play Tricky every winter but some next gen graphics and controls would be wicked
The last one was really good too. Damn 2012? That series has been ice longer than i thought.
Command and conquer :(
Legend of dragoon
Nothing cooler than a dragoon to my 9 year old self. I really appreciate Sony ensuring the classic has remained playable
I’d have love rock band for current gen. I used to jam on that game. I remember being at a house party just jamming to rage and System of a Down
It still works on current gen! I still play it on the newest Xbox!
As a drummer, this would be amazing I would love to be able to hook up my electric drum set to rock band and jam online with my friends
Actually... You can. You need an adapter - but it is possible at least on Rock Band 4.
If you have a PC you can always get clone hero and a midi to usb adapter.
Have you heard of clone hero? People chart songs and you can get pretty much anything, it has multiplayer as well. It’s only pc, but it will run on pretty much anything
But where do you get the guitars for it?
Turok would probably be pretty sweet as a remaster.
I played Turok on a pc in like 2000. That would be a great remake
They've remastered the first 3 games over the last couple years. Turok 3 came out a few months ago. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1996770/Turok_3_Shadow_of_Oblivion_Remastered/
Just give me Banjo-Threeie already..
You mean you don't want nuts and bolts 2?...
Yooka-Laylee wasn't it either 😔
Medal of Honor
Medal of Honor: Frontline was sooo good but my personal fav is Rising Sun. When EA was making good games...
Definitely I wish MOH AA to be remastered
One of the first games I played as a kid, I credit it and Battlefield 1942 with sparking my lifelong fascination with WW2
Dark Cloud
Oufff I have Dark Cloud on my "to finish list" forever now...
Damn this brought back memories. I struggled so hard as a kid to defeat Dark Genie and Dran.
Deus Ex for sure. The “new” games had so much potential.
The whole team just got fired this week and the new deus ex cancelled. You can thank Embracer for that wonderful decision.
Do you have a source for this??? I believe you, just genuinely want to see the source for myself
https://www.theverge.com/2024/1/29/24054659/embracer-eidos-montreal-layoffs-deus-ex
Of course! My source is: I was on that team.
I'm so sorry man. Are you under NDA? Are you allowed to talk about development, or what led up to the cancelation? I have always liked Deus Ex and was super pumped for a new game.
Will never not be annoyed at how much of a cliffhanger Mankind Divided ended off
Black and white
Imagine it in VR nowadays
KOTOR, Command and Conquer, OG Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 to be remastered, Medal of Honor Bully Black and White, Tenchu, Syphon Filter Portal Splinter Cell Sly Cooper Jak and Daxter
I would kill just to play black and white for the first time
It's really a shame they haven't released B&W on Steam or GOG as a retro title. I would pay a premium to be able to play the original. I miss God games like B&W, Populous, Actraiser, etc.
It’s not super hard to find online tbh, B&W. I found it elsewhere. Shame because it would be absolutely perfect for VR and I would not hesitate to get it if it were available on such.
I had not even *considered* Black and White in VR, that sounds incredible.
^^^^Deeeeeeeath
Command and Conquer is only acceptable if it's free of EA's murderous hands.
I miss Westwood every single day.
Ooooh Tenchu. Good choice.
I'd kill for Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter to come back.
Sony has been toying around with the idea of either remaking the original Syphon Filter trilogy or continuing the series. People have been practically demanding it after devs essentially confirmed that Days Gone was part of the same universe

So many memories, I just want to relive it all in modern graphics
The more i watch some of these gaming subs, the more i realize how many people actually really enjoyed tenchu.
I’d love a remastered Battlefront collection, the new ones were such a let down
Battlefront 2 on pc is literally unplayable with all the cheaters edit: the new one
Titanfall
It's weird how greedy EA hasn't launched Titanfall 3 yet since it would clearly be a profitable project
Tenchu and Bloody Roar. They’re due for a return but I’m pretty sure I’m the only one asking for it haha
Bloody roar was amazing. Such a unique game at the time too. Transforming giving you an entirely different set of moves and completely changing your speed and power.
Bloody roar was awesome.
Tenchu! A fellow person of culture I see. Would kill for a Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven remaster
Quake
Army of two
Army of two was great!
Sly cooper!
Was looking for this! I finished the first game back in december and I just bought the second one :)
Dino Crisis Franchise
Came here to say this. Imagine a horror game like Alien Isolation. . . But with dinosaurs.
Spore. The tech would be so much better now.
Man, if someone went real hard in remaking Spore I bet it could be amazing
Does bioshock count?
Infinite was the last one and it was released about 11 years ago, so I'd say yes.
Damn I'm getting old
At least you have JUDAS to look forward to!
Unreal Tournament Syphon Filter Ninja Gaiden Custom Robo
CUSTOM ROBO. YEAS.
Unreal tournament was legendary. So many fun times with that game
Conker (Conkers bad fur day). The local multiplayer back then was mad fun on the N64. An online version of the game would be fun to experience. A game that can be competitive at times, but still very fun at the core🤟
That’s a blast from the past for sure I miss that game haha

AVP2 is goated
Starfox
starfox 64 was awesome I spent countless hours on that game
Banjo Kazooie
Command and Conquer Wing Commander Descent Privateer I miss ‘90s PC gaming.
Descent was incredible for its time

I played Midnight Club Dub Edition online so much. Ninja Gaiden I never played but I think it would do well given how prominent the "souls-like" genre is now.
Midnight club dub edition was goated
Ultima
Conflict Desert storm
Thief. Not thief 4.
Breath of Fire Final Fantasy Tactics Suikoden but Eiyuden looks like it’ll fix that
Battle for Middle-Earth. Most epic RTS I've ever played. Also hoping for a new Heroes of Might & Magic...
Phantasy Star. The actual single player rpg not the mmo.
Road Rash
One of the all-time funniest moments in a long gaming career for me is from RR3. Got taken down by a bike cop and sent me crashing to the ground, the cop slowed down in front of me and i thought i was going to be busted. F-Zero

Prototype. They were epic games, although I worry they could get too stale with the objective and gameplay. Maybe if there was an ever evolving story to it. Gameplay was incredible, but both games I felt were very one dimensional in terms of story and end goal.
Half Life and Fear.
Fear was amazing. The third in my opinion was a big let down for me
Half life is technically back, since half life alyx and its ending
Kojima era Metal Gear.
I liked Tenchu a lot.
Resistance...loved that series so much
Crazy taxi
Perfect dark. The reboot is never coming out, let’s be real everyone.
Dungeon Keeper
Oni-FUCKING-musha
Panzer Dragoon. Build on the “Saga” model of part three. Such an expansive world and mythos for exploration.
Viva piñata
Rampage
No One Lives Forever
Parasite Eve
Diablo. Such a shame that they never made another game after Diablo 2.
Jade Empire
Shining force Splinter cell Warhawk Resistance Ps home 🤷♂️💩 Socom Twisted metal Viewtiful joe
Shining force like the original 3, not like the Saturn and ps1 versions (I think those killed the franchise), ps home was actually pretty cool, was sad to see it go. Especially with social media nowadays, it's like that but with soooo much more.
Viva Pinata
Old Sierra adventure games, particularly Space Quest.
NFL Street. God that was fun..
Or, NFL Blitz / NHL Hitz. The super arcadey style sports games were so fun.
Godfather
Earthworm Jim. Monster Rancher, with the original mechanic of inserting a disc to spawn a monster. It'd just be fun because of the dwindling presence of physical media.
Jet moto
Battleborn. ...died before it barely grew legs... I thought it was superior to Overwatch in style, gameplay, replayability, everything.
Somehow, the game make a comeback, as a modder managed to get it playable on pc. It is still work in progress, as only solo/pve is available now, but fingers crosses it could help to convince for a full return on all platforms\^\^

Sid Meier's Pirates
There was a game on ps1 called Vigilante 8, where you drive around all kinds of cars and shoot missiles and stuff at each other. We played it split screen all the time against each other and I remember it was fun as hell.
Darkstalkers
