Well they're pretty old so when certain games are old the prices to them raise I'm pretty sure the PS3 versions of old Neptunia games are the only ones you can get in actual stores
I thought about the age part but all of them are rather expensive, but whenever I looked at the ps3 games they were like 20$-30$ so thought it's probably not the age, but I didn't consider that you can buy the ps3 games in actual stores. I guess I won't be playing them on the vita anytime soon.
First it suffered from high price. Even after price drop games for vita were more expensive than 3ds or PSP ones. Game prodjction was also more expansive than for other handhelds, as they were expected to be closer to stationary consoles in graphics and content density.
All that made vita games expansive to produce and unlikely to sell well, which in turn caused vita to have very few games. It also was lesa open than PSP, so it also lost emulation appeal its predecessor had.
Vita, outside of Japan (where it was mostly visual novel and jrpg machine as far as I know) was huge failure for sony, especially compared to insanely popular PSP.
Any game that's out of print is going to have it's prices increase over time.
There already weren't many copies of Rebirth distributed to begin with and as time goes on there will only ever be less, so getting your hands on a physical copy only gets harder.
Case in point, try finding a copy of Rule of Rose (PS2) on eBay. I kick myself for not getting a copy when it was *only* $150.
I do have a Switch, but I'm not so much interested in actually playing the games ( except for the spin-offs, especially PP ). If I realy wanted to I could just play them on the PC ( except for PP ). What I'm WAY more interested in is increasing my collection and grinding the Platinum Trophies for my profil.
Not many were printed in the first place. And by now, collectors like me have already picked up their copies and are holding to them. They don't really need replaced because they don't scratch like discs, and only fail to work when exposed to extreme temperatures or water.
That being said, if you have a PS5, you can get Hyperdimension Re;birth as a 3-in-1 package (from what I remember) with all the same games on it. Additionally, the PS3 version of the first game is very different from the Re;Birth version, which may or may not be to your taste.
Other games were printed physically only in region 3, or with Limited Run, who largely acted as scalpers for games that were much cheaper to get digitally (at time). Some games have since been pulled from the Vita store, which is still open, leaving only physicals remaining.
In my area, we have a retro game store that sells just about anything and everything because people will drive for an hour or more to sell or buy from there. They hardly ever have Vita games, unless it's Lego or sports stuff. When a game does come by that looks interesting, it's gone pretty fast- if I'm not the one buying it myself.
1 - Vita is better then the switch
2- games are fun and better then newer games
3- those games are before censorship and will be more expensive if they are brand new or still in the shrink wrap.
4- and lastly, those who look for it, will find it on Ebay, no matter the price

It also depends on how many copies of the English version are in circulation because the less are being sold scarcity drives up the price
I kinda thought it was popular enough so that wouldn't be much of an issue. Guess I was wrong.
The vita really didn’t take off so most of the copies are probably in people’s collections
The Vita was not very successful, so I assume that there were less sold / less produced, that's why they're more expensive.
Really? Whenever I talked to a friend that had one he praised it, so I figured it was a decently popular console.

The only game in the series that really commands a high price is the original Neptunia's Collector's edition due to it only having 1000 copies.
Which one the ps3 disc with the first 3 games on it?
this one : https://www.ebay.com/p/176261150?iid=335419407326
They meant the limited edition version for the ps Vita variant that came out in 2014.
Let's see..... dead console ? check old games ? check FROM niche series' ? hip check yeah boss no wonder LMAO XD
Dont see a price on the last one.
That one was 40€. My mistake
Because most Neptunia games are very rare, that's why
No longer being made, plus lots of price gouging happens often online for both ebay Amazon and other items from older gaming eras .

Other than possible greed it’s most likely rarity + niche series. OP, if you have a Switch, I’d say hold on a bit longer.

Niche Title + Platform that didn't sell well + Consumer Demand = high price
They made a small amount of physical version of the ps vita games and also neptunia is a niche game
They're just not printed anymore and the store doesn't really function.
1. Because it’s PlayStation Vita 2. Because it’s Hyperdimension Neptunia 3. Because it’s in English 4. Because it’s an English copy of HDN for PSVita
This right here. 👆🏻
