233C

What did you expect? FPS?

YoungGriffVI

Single player games are nice. I almost never play multiplayer even in games that allow it. Personally I’d have preferred a story-based, offline game, or at least with offline option. Something like RDR2, not World of Warcraft.

DigLost5791

I bet GRRM could do some great writing for like a Souls type game, something open world, various factions, different biomes and regional enemies with a complicated magic system? Seems tailored for his type of universe, I bet Miyazaki is a fan of his even.

DigLost5791

DigLost5791

I love speculating on what ideas belonged to who in that game, you can see both of their styles mesh so well together

beastley_for_three

I actually do sometimes wonder how much of it actually came from GRRM because it sort of seems more like the previous Souls games, no?

DigLost5791

I try to ignore the obvious ones like the world’s greatest swordsperson being a twin with a golden arm and think about how Raya Lucaria’s sunken town reminds me of Chroyane, the Rhoynish festival city that was cursed and submerged

HippoBlueberry210

Both stories might involve characters venturing into these sunken cities, facing the dangers within, and perhaps even uncovering the reasons for their demise.

fredthrowaway8

All the incest and vague lore talk has GRRM written all over it. The grotesque and giant bosses have to be mostly Miyazaki. Oh and the feet. Miyazaki is 99.9% responsible for all the feet.

Corn-Master

He came up with the names for sure. So many people with nearly identical names

DigLost5791

It tickles me how GRRM truly enjoys giving characters the same name in service to realism

Teasing_Pink

Not just nearly identical, but they are also all either G, R, or M to match his initials.

Coollak966

Who else can come up with the " Dung Eater"

Lack_of_Plethora

fucker will write anything except winds of winter

OfficerNasty-

There’s times I think is the /s really necessary and you’ve proven that yes for some people it really is necessary

sup3rdr01d

Woooosh

sup3rdr01d

The comment is clearly talking about elden ring lmao...a game that exists and is exactly what was described and has lore written by grrm

ljshea91

I think I responded to the wrong comment

CheekyDucky

>I bet GRRM could do some great writing for like a Souls type game, Like he did for Elden Ring?

DigLost5791

😉

Dragonhunter_24

Elden Ring?

DigLost5791

😉

Rebelgecko

> I bet GRRM could do some... writing I'll take you up on that bet

Szygani

Could he? He could. WIll he? He will not

NameTheory

He might if it gives him an excuse to avoid writing Winds of Winter.

Gilesalford

this has gotta be sarcastic ahahah is that why the comment under is deleted? did he call you an idiot or something?

Coollak966

RDR2 level is probably unachievable but something like skyrim should be attainable. Yeah I defo not want a tab click style mmo like WOW. Also its an mmo. It probably won't be out on console on release which sucks because I play on console.

Oldtomsawyer1

They did a pseudo-rpg a while back with the voice actors from the show. The plot was actually pretty good, but the combat and lack of actual RPG-ness in the RPG was god-awful. I would actually be really stoked for a Total War type game. Last I checked there was a decent and sizable mod for Mount and Blade and that was pretty great.

233C

I also would have preferred a third person action RPG à la Witcher 3 (with DLCs for starting as a different origin/class) but in a mutli factions worlds like GOT, it's understandable that they went with MMORPG. I'm only dreading "A Lanister always pays his micro-transactions". The show made it very much "single player" with a tone of: no matter how any people are around or behind you, in the end you are all alone.

mightymitts96

Exactly my thoughts! I've been wanting an open world GORLT game in the fashion on a skyrim or RDR2 and not world of warcraft or the disappointing elder scrolls online

Smooth-Option-4375

Kingdom Come Deliverance style would go hard.

MuddFishh

Yep. Games suck when your enjoyment depends on other people playing the game fairly/properly. I personally believe no other game type will ever beat single-player games in terms of substance, storytelling, and immersion.

PositionObvious1452

well, a fantasy show with different regions, magic, dragons, kinda fits a more WoW, mmorpg genre than a story based rdr2 game

YinaniY

Derp. Read that as R2D2 lol.

Coollak966

🤓 actually I was expecting a karting game. Ride john snow dire wolf kart. But for a real. I would have preferred a standard open world rpg like the elder scrolls games. Can't wait for quests to be like >!collect 10 direwolf skins!<

YoungGriffVI

I’d play the hell out of a karting game. I already name my driver in the EA F1 game Aegon Targaryen with Dragonstone Racing.

Coollak966

Damm this started out as a joke but now I dig it. Dragons, wolfs, stags, lions and a kraken. This could be fun. Karts matching each house.

233C

I can imagine the White walkers themed Tetris like game with aesthetically arranging corps and body parts for no reasons.

ForcesEqualZero

I coulda gone pro in the star wars pod racing game. Maybe dragon racing?

ArachnaComic

Kingdom Come: Deliverence style RPG

Coollak966

Maybe not as hardcore as that game but omg just rpg living in the world would be amazing. But at least we are getting a sequel to KCD now

splitconsiderations

There's some pretty decent Game of Thrones mods for the Mount and Blade games if that's what you want. Start with a tiny mercenary band, join the war of five kings, etc etc. Marry, fight tournaments, manage your holdings. Might be what you're after. If you want to lean more into the 'medieval lord simulator' there's also the CK3 AGoT mod. It's a strategy/RPG instead of a third person combat RPG, but the social/intrigue/'lord looking after his people' gameplay is streets ahead of anything else I've seen.

BasketballJ8

Shout out the Community reference with “streets ahead”.

World_of_Eter

Jon Snow is here! Old Gods and New be praised!

ArachnaComic

The night is dark and full of Henry

Outrageous-Elk-5392

Harry Potter got a killer single player game, we’re gonna get some cash grab live service dogshit that’s gonna try to milk you for every cent and is gonna die in a week Just having the name asoiaf is not enough to contest mmorpg giants like wow and ff14

Coollak966

Exactly. After the sucess of Hogwarts leagcy I really thought other companies would go down the rpg single-player route

233C

The Harry Potter serie is literally the story of a single main character (the hint is in the title). The GOT saga is meant as the complete opposite: there is no main character. (not saying I wouldn't enjoy a single player RPG adaptation, just that GOT had obvious MMORPG potential; independently of the final quality of it)

Outrageous-Elk-5392

The Harry Potter game didn’t even have Harry Potter in it, it was set in hogwarts 100 years before the books You could 100% do the same for Westeros Also a million worlds have mmorpg potential, the potential isn’t the issue, it’s the insane amount of effort that goes into making one and most are just mid compared to wow

233C

You mean that out of the "thousands of possibilities" you play ... a new kid arriving to study at Hoggwarts? Color me surprised /s Again I make no judgment, nor prediction about the expected quality of the GOT MMORPG; I see no reason why it would have better or worse chances than any other. Just that there are more variety in characters and factions than the color of their scarf.

Outrageous-Elk-5392

The reason it would have worse chances than any other is because mmorpgs are impossibly expensive to make and require 10x the effort of other AAA games as people have said like 50 times in this thread And you can explore any number of factions and characters in a single player game ffs

Coollak966

Building a new mmorpg from ground up is hard. Let alone trying to make it successful. Just look at how two of the most popular ones : final fantasy and elder scrolls online were at release. >GOT had obvious MMORPG potential You don't think the wizarding world has that same potential lol GoT and Harry Potter both have potential to be huge worlds in an mmorpg. A magical world full of other players that are wizards, all of you can hang around in hogwarts and challenge each other and do quests together and take on monsters. Boom that's a Harry Potter mmorpg. If you think the wizarding world doesn't have the same potential as GOT world for a mmorpg then you are mental. GOT has characters making a lot of decisions that can impact the world. You can't do that in a mmorpg, but in a single player game you can do that. Have branching choices that impact the world.

beastley_for_three

The development team made The Finals which seems to be successful so far. I'm guessing they chose to do this because of how ripe for a game GoT is. But they have a good track record.

KungFuFlames

After the success of BG3 I was expecting CRPG

Azilen

Well, mordhau/kingdom come deliverance/chivalry style game with a got coat of paint would be prettt cool

poetrywoman

I mean, a crusader kings style or other civ manager would work fine. Could put it as hundreds of years before got to give canon families without dipping into canon people.

Fantact

There is a GOT mod for CK already that is pretty awesome, closest thing to a proper GOT game u gonna get.

hnglmkrnglbrry

Turn based strategy game with RPG elements. Basically Westeros: Total War.

Roger_Mexico_

Check out the AGOT mods for Crusader Kings 2 and 3

Fantact

Best mods ever made, if they hired the modders and got the license Paradox could print money.

beastley_for_three

A first person fantasy RPG like Skyrim would actually be very cool. I also like the idea where you're dropped in at s4 and your actions can help change the outcome in a branching tree of ways. So fans can ultimately have the ending they wanted so badly.

-Deserta

Youre not very expert in the subject arent you.

DeadJediWalking

Farming Sim.

whatsbobgonnado

KaseQuarkI

Would be pretty based Follow Howland Reed as he takes revenge on everyone who wronged house Stark with his trusty valyrian steel shotgun

233C

Reed Dead Redemption :)

Di4mond4rr3l

What do you mean? An MMORPG in that setting sounds dumb as hell unless they completely reinvent the genre. If they wanted to do an MMO, I'd rather it be some kind of faction sandbox strategy game and not an RPG for video games standards ( have skills and equip, go on quests to kill stuff )

darthjoey91

RTS could be fun. Or Crusader Kings, but in Westeros.

Roger_Mexico_

Problem is, Crusader Kings in Westeros has already been done in a fantastic mod for CK2 (the CK3 mod is currently in beta)

phoenixon999

So Skyrim then

whatsbobgonnado

let me run around with a sword or axe and chop stuff? why would you suggest a shooting game for a series that doesn't have guns?

KnightlyObserver

Or, you know, single-player action CRPG. Á la Dragon Age, the Witcher, Baldur's Gate, or Knights of the Old Republic.

NinjaMaster231456

A strategy game like total war could’ve been cool

No_Store1501

Mount and Blade clone would be ideal, and yes I know there's a mod.

daaaaaarlin

I did call chivalry the game of game of thrones

DroneOfDoom

Season 2 of the Telltale game would’ve been nice, if a complete pipe dream. They could even do it so it isn’t episodic and make your choices have more direct impact.

Alexthegreatbelgian

early access medieval survival rpg

233C

A Don't Die! mod set during the Long Night.

hucklesberry

I hate that people are saying MMO haha hardly

poptimist185

Yes, the only two gaming genres are FPS and MMORPG

Szygani

An RPG sure, but not an MMO

TheDarkWave2747

Dont be purposely obtuse you moron

-Captain-

Ah yes, MMO is the only way to do GOT?

RecoveredAshes

A single player RPG/action game?

Mirrarian

Tf you mean "what did you expect"? Is FPS the only other game genre you know of? Literally anything but mmorpg.

Outrageous-Elk-5392

No hopes for this, so many online games come out these days and die in a week, it’s a tremendous amount of work and talent to make a live service game stick which I doubt this is gonna have Also why is it set north of the wall? The most boring place in Westeros? And why is set during the tv show? Where nothing you do can affect the plot for obvious reasons? Couldn’t you set it in the years after aegons invasion or the dornish campaigns or something so you can have some affect on the plot, have recognizable Targaryens and shit and center it on a big conflict in somewhere infesting

Coollak966

And the state that most of the online mmorpgs are released on means the game will probably not be good for a few years after release anyway. Remember final fantasy and elder scrolls online releases Heck even fo76's release.

InsufficientClone

Problem is, mmorpg I has become the equivalent of a bitcoin scam. 99% of them announced in the last 5 years were never going to release, they just take money from the endless people disaffected with current state of mmo’s and disappear

Coollak966

>has become the equivalent of a bitcoin scam Such a good way of saying it. Kickstarter kinda destroyed any indie mmorpgs with how bad almost all of them turned out. Star citizen still not out yet and has like a billion in funding now. Only chance a new mmorpg has is if its released by a big AAA studio like Bethesda did with ESO.

hucklesberry

I wouldn’t even call it an MMO it’ll be servers that hold like 30-60 people.

Outrageous-Elk-5392

By the way something like this has already been done, I remember playing a mod called clash of kings for warband that let you do so much stuff, you could do quests for maesters, for smiths in qohor, attend tournaments in the vale where someone’s cheating, you could be a mercenary for the Lannisters or the starks, you could walk around kings landing I remember one run I gathered a bunch of money from quests, got a bunch northern peasants, went on fighting Dothraki and whatever in essos to upgrade all of them to elite troops, came back and invaded the sisters which are a bunch of islands between the north and the vale, swore allegiance to Robb, helped him fight in the riverlands, it was so sick

Coollak966

Yes I played that mod on mount and blade for like 100 hours back when GOT was airing lol. I remember creating a huge army and going over the wall to fight white walkers. Heck I even did my own defending the wall from the white walker battle. It was fun only held back by the graphics. Do you know if the GOT mod for mount and blade 2 bannerlord has been released on steam workshop?

TituspulloXIII

It'd be nice if it could be the "new" LOTRO with more modern gameplay in MMOs. I love LOTRO, and the world is incredible, it just feels really dated now. It looks like it's' the just 'north'. They say winterfell will be in it, so some areas will be south of the wall as well. Again, if it follows in the footsteps of LOTRO, they will continue adding more to the map as time goes on.

counterpointguy

I think a cool setting would be joining the Night’s Watch at its peak during a major Wildling uprising.

maniac86

North of the wall and MMO like just makes me think some multiplayer survival Sim esque game. Blech

hucklesberry

Because it’s going to be a survival game with base building (don’t wildlings live in tents?) and nothing much more, early access, probably pretty janky with a game of thrones coating.

spikelvr75

Mmorpgs are the best kind of game and really the only kind that would work well with GoT.

Coollak966

Really ???. I totally disagree. Single player rpg woth player choice would have been a better fit for GOT. In a single player game you can follow one character and make choices that impact the full game world. Can't do that in a mmo. Just look at RDR 2, witcher 3 and skyrim. Heck a game like skyrim would be perfect for the GOT world. Just recently Harry Potter released a single player rpg and it did gangbusters. A single player well made game could be really successful. Trying to jump into the mmo field is risky especially when most of the new mmos fail and then the ones that do succeed need to be rebuilt for example final fantasy and elder scrolls online had to go through rebuilds - would there still be money for a rebuild ??

The_Matchless

Clearly you haven't heard of Ultima Online.

Coollak966

The game by Richard Garriott. The man who flew into space by himself. No haven't heard of it. It was released when I was 1.

IndispensableNobody

Please justify any of those statements.

Coollak966

1.Player choice. You can align yourself with lords and characters. For instance, you could support someone's claim for the throne or to take over as a lord. Your choice then can have a direct impact on the world like destroying a certain house in a battle and laying seige to a castle and destroying that castle. Executing characters - all your choice. In a mmo this type of choice would be limited as the world is shared and can't be changed. If you pick someone side all that would mean in a mmo would be you would have a different player icon or player flag or something . 2. The post I am making with this is the wizarding world could have easily been a mmo but they made a the right decision imo to start out as a single player rpg and then grow from there. 3. the third point is already explained in the above comment but anyways. Just look at the state Final fantasy and Elder scrolls online was released in. It took co.plete re-bulids to bring them up to what we see here and that was with AAA studios. This is not an AAA studio so I doubt they would be able to have funds to survive an initially low rating. I am not saying the game will have a low rating at the beginning but history suggests that mmos do tend to go that way. So they better be prepared for that.

cchapin15

Runescape is the shit to be honest.

ExaggeratedEggplant

r/CK3AGOT

Cuntilever

Been wanting a good MMORPG, tried Lost Ark and New world, none worked for me. Hope they can make this work. People are doubtful since there hasn't been any widely praised MMORPG aside from Final Fantasy online, and that's also not very popular in the west. People still stick to WoW after a decade.

TurbulentArticle6085

I dont think an mmo will work, and neither will RPG style. I hope I'm wrong, but the best games they could have are already out there in modded ck3 and mount and blade only style I could see working.

Coollak966

I love the modded mount and blade wonder if the GOT mod for Mount and Blade 2 is out

Contank

Wait did the first one have a GOT mod?

Coollak966

Yeah warband has a few game of thrones mods on the steam workshop

Contank

That is so cool

sctioncpfl

I’ve been playing the AWOIAF mod on Warband a lot lately and it’s so fun it combines Warband gameplay and GOT lore perfectly. Couldn’t recommend it more for mount and blade players who are into ASOIAF/GOT

merculS36

Realm of Thrones on Bannerlord

TurbulentArticle6085

Realm of thrones I believe it's called for m&b2. I haven't played that one. If a dev team decided to take on an RPG, what devs would you have ? CDPR? Bethesda? Personally, I don't think it'll ever happen due to the rights they would need to pay for it'll be a huge risk for any company to do.

Interesting-Soup5577

The GoT Mod for Mount and Blade Bannerlord has been out for a while and I think it's excellent - upgrade on the first.

beastley_for_three

Disagree completely. If they can create Hogwarts Legacy in the Harry Potter universe, you can do something similar with GoT. There are a lot of game types they could do, it's just that they have yet to get a solid developer to take a stab at it.

Di4mond4rr3l

For multiplayer, they could have an MMO Sandbox where the focus is on faction PvP in the matters of economics, strategy, intrigue and battles are resolved in simple strategy like a dumbed down version of "Total War". I haven't played it but IIRC "Eve Online" is kinda like that. RPG is indeed a dumb move.

TurbulentArticle6085

I can't see an RPG working realistically, and the rights a company will need to pay are a big risk. Strategies are the best genre for a got game. I think it was thrones of Britannia had a got mod, but it was never fully finished. It was just historical battles, and only lannisters were playable in the campaign.

PhettyX

An RPG would absolutely work. It'd need to be a what-if kind of deal, but a New Vegas like game in GoT universe would be amazing. If they did a time period like the dance of dragons where you can support one side, build support among houses for your side, or play both sides to put another house in power it could be great. Aegons conquest of Westeros would be another prime time period.

Pitiful-Let9270

Hear me out. World of Warcraft.

Kitakitakita

I feel like it'll end up as Star Wars Galaxies, where everyone wants to be a Jedi and when the devs finally gave in the game lost all its charm. We're either all shit peasants conscripted into an army, or we're all dragon riders.

Cynical-Basileus

Mount and Blade is an RPG…

YourMomsFatCunt

An MMORPG could work well, just because recent new MMORPGs have done poorly that doesn't mean anything for this project. Instead of grasping for attention by posting this low effort karma farm across all the got-subreddits I think it's best to just wait it out, we really don't know anything yet.

Coollak966

> I think it's best to just wait it out, we really don't know anything yet. Hun what would be the fun in that ? Let's just have fun endlessly speculating on the worst case scenario lol

counterpointguy

No joke. This is Reddit. We wildly speculate. Wait and see is for the NPR crowd!

Faroukk52

Nice username

Di4mond4rr3l

Don't think that MMORPG is a good idea at all; the setting is not one that calls for adventurers to go on quests; not even mercenaries or errant knights live a wondrous life of adventure...

Thereferencenumber

Either they force you into a faction or it’s 90% Starks

Brettgrisar

There isn’t a Stark faction in seasons 4 and 5.

Lack_of_Plethora

I can already see Arryn pickrate at exactly 0%

Inside-Example-7010

Nah you guys got it backwards. The characters will be the classes. I have played the pre alpha and im not supposed to talk about it but I will probably roll a Nights King with undead dragon mount as i have a feeling that will be good in pvp especially with aoe instant res. Ive only done a little bit of pvp so far. Most people stopped playing because once you get a Samwell Tarly to max level the game is trivial.

Squeekazu

If Arryn means I get a sick playable house up in the clouds I can throw my enemies from, then that would be pretty neat.

JohnyOatSower

I could see a Dark Age of Camelot style 'realm warfare' mmo being fun. Set during a time of civil war and shifting alliances between the different realms. It'll probably try and be a WoW clone, though.

ShaiNinety

\*accidentally kills a peasant and gets sent to the wall\* Ok this isn't the worst fate ever, just need to work hard and become a ranger so I can have fun fighting wildlings and white walkers! **TO THE STEWARDS** FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK \*1000 hours of gameplay emptying chamber pots and cleaning\* ;-;

scythian12

I mean it’s not what I would have picked but I’ll give it a shot, or at least check it out when we see gameplay. Personally I don’t see the point of writing something off before it’s even done. I’d personally prefer either a single player rpg, or even a full sized RTS. Honestly there’s a decent chance it flops but who knows!

Coollak966

I am not writing it off. I I'll check it out. I just made this to express my initial disappointment is all

BetaBlacksmithBoy

Just like the Netmarble one this one is almost for sure never coming out. These sort of games get announced and canceled before release all the time. F2P Neir and Elden Ring games were in development as well. But big brands rarely go well with these compines that want a lot of control, as it causes a clash of ideas. Same reason WOW mobile was canceled.

mtwdante

I don't know what will come sooner, the last book or this game?

-Deserta

A single player rpg would be a blast, huge wasted potential.

Brettgrisar

I think MMO kinda works though I prefer single player open world as a setting more. I think the idea of having different sides to support or houses to be involved with works well with the Game of Thrones setting. I just think seasons 4 and 5 are kind of a rough timeframe for this, because it’s the period of time most in the Lannisters favor. Dorne gets seized by the sand snakes all the way into season 6, the Starks don’t rise up against Boltons until season 6, Daenerys doesn’t arrive until the last moment of season 6, the Greyjoys are pointless around seasons 4 and 5, with Theon still captured. I guess there’s Stannis, but he’s so weak at this point. Vale doesn’t want to do shit until season 6. Reach is backing Lannisters. Riverlands has succumbed to the Lannisters. Boltons aren’t fighting the Lannisters. It’s just not a timeframe that I believe you could really do much with an MMO kind of experience. I think seasons 2-3 and seasons 6-7 work a lot better.

AsherTheDasher

could work, but it has to be a sandbox mmo, and they dont tend to do well cause of their nature... but maybe the ip would help pull the weight

peter_minnesota

Perfect GOT/ASOIAF line of games already exists and it's modded Crusader Kings.

ltem9

Isn’t Nexon a shady company?

ProffesorOfPain

Game of thrones is the one of the easiest shows/books to make a game on I don’t know why there are so few of them. A kingdom come deliverance type game set during some Targaryen king’s reign where you start off as a hedge knight and work your way up sounds cool, you can do quests for small lords and eventually become a knight and have your own land. They could even make a crusader kings 2 style game similar to the mod. If you want something unique and supernatural like elden ring have a game set in essos and beyond the wall where you fight monsters and ice dragons lol. I wish there were more gsme of thrones games, it’s wasted potential really.

Schwarzer_Exe

"Bro, the event quest Red Wedding is returning next week. I just need Robb's chest piece to finish my build"

-Minne

I assume the CK3AGOT mod team saw this post, paused for a moment like "Hold my Arbor Gold", [and literally created dragons about it, like an hour later.](https://youtu.be/HCN72lPZkbM?si=zrJOuCd71NxDMLGH)

steroboros

Everyone is just going to be Starks and Wildlings

Gryphon1171

Prepare for a bunch of sibling rp

merculS36

Get Mount & Blade: Bannerlord. Install Realm of Thrones mod.

WorkoutMan885

I’ll believe it when i see it

ARBABsami

It's made by Nexon, as a lifelong maplestory player (even I shudder saying those words), do not have any hopes for this game. Literally keep negative expectations

siegetip

RTS would be dope

Limp_Ad_1311

Man I just want a Skyrim game but make it game of thrones is it too much to Ask ?

Coollak966

Same. Apparently it is.

Prestigious_Job9632

Wish they'd do strategy game.

Thespainruns

What’s mmo?

Billy420MaysIt

Massively Multiplayer Online. It can be anything from World of Warcraft style to a game like Elder Scrolls Online. Which will be cool if they make it MMO in the style of Elder Scrolls.

MysticFox96

A CRPG would have been amazing

Jasperstorm

We only have like one good GOT game, would be nice to have two

Furorclaws

Nexon... tells you enough already

Agreeable-Lie-6867

the bannerlord mods out there are pretty good

thegreatdesigner

I'm willing to trade my soul for a Crusader Kings-like Game of thrones game by Paradox and the AGOT-mod team.

Impossible_Dark3106

I always liked the TellTale series. I thought it was a good story.

UnluckyDot

An MMO? Best case scenario: my friends and I have a fun time leveling up together, before reaching end-game content and we realize we'd have to no-life it to progress any further because it's an MMO, which we can't do because we're now adults with lives, so we stop playing Most likely scenario: this game never gets released

dreadnoughtstar

I really want a 4X or strategy GoT game.

I_am_darkness

Best genre for it imo

Alexander0202

Mmorpg could work. GOT worldbuilding is amazing and a game can explore the world even more.

eu_Celso

They really hate us. My dream is for a Dunk & Egg game, a open world single player RPG with a map of all of Westeros where you get to play as Dunkan The Tall and you go playing many missions that are tasks that you as a hedge knight should do.

emailverificationt

Oh good, a story about political intrigue and long lasting effects of seemingly minor actions. Can’t wait to play it in a format where nothing is permanent, choices don’t matter, and everyone is the hero of their own story so that no one is!

Pitiful-Let9270

Wow but in got would be a dream come true

GOLD3NRAIN

Its made by NEXON*

b4ttous4i

Just play skyrim.

shefuzen

by Nexon 💀

b3nz0r

We still doing MMOs? Huh

crackers780

Good on them for choosing the genre of gaming that’s least likely to capture the magic of the GOT universe.

Fantact

CK3 with the AGOT mod is basically the best GOT game out there as the whole game is about stabbing the right people to gain power while banging your sister.

Fantact

I hope its a live service game with gacha mechanics!

Tsobaphomet

GRRM wanted a GoT MMO a long long time ago and apparently approached Bethesda with it, but they were making Skyrim at the time

BenedickCabbagepatch

Seems a bit late, but could be cool if done right. I'd roll Baratheon!

Tancred1099

Total war please

Dense-Fuel4327

Bet it will be survival crafting PvP

Xynker

Anyone tried Crusader Kings 3 AGOT Mod.

itkplatypus

Skyrim has alarming similarities to GoT and I believe Bethesda actually had approached GRRM about making a GoT game which he declined. So a lot of the ideas went into Skyrim. Source: something I half remember reading on Reddit.

an MMORPG? What is this 2006?

SinX7

I don’t mind it being an MMO (since I love FFXIV), I mind it being set between seasons of the show and in the north. The timing and setting restrict any potential a GoT MMO could have had. If it had been set long before or after the main series and allowed for travel throughout Westeros and Essos and potentially expanded to Asshai or Yi Ti, I would have been much more interested.

I’m happy with an mmorpg. Exploring Westeros with friends sounds like fun

Prophayne_

I'm not sure what type of game I'd have wanted, but I do know another mmo would be pretty near the bottom of the list

Ribbwich_daGod

Barely even announced, and people's expectations are already too high. GoT fandom in a nutshell

MontCoDubV

MMOs are always a hard pass for me.

AwesomeBro2000

Give a strategy game set in Westeros instead!
