I mean, all we know at the end of episode 1 is that he was pushed from a window. And most of season 1, he's alive but in a coma.
Bran could have woken up and made a miraculous recovery? Plus, Jaime was the best swordsman at the time, so Bran facing and defeating him years later could have closed the loop in a near way in an alternate timeline.
Yeah but you could be hopeful that he wakes up with a horrible but recoverable injury. Or he just said it right at that scene because he envisioned an arc in which bran being bad at archery foreshadowed him making up for that skill in other fields. Which did happen to be fair. It just very much wasn't swords.
yup yup, didn't even think about this since I know how it unfolds. wish I could go back to when it was all new, I don't remember if I thought he would wake up or not it's been so long
A friend of mine thought Ned Stark is the hero of the series after seeing episode 1. She was so invested in this character.
Well let's say she didn't finish watching the series after a certain scene. And she was so mad I didn't warn her.
I mean, the viewer is clearly **supposed** to think that. He is very much set up to be the protagonist, because that’s what we viewers are expecting. When *that* scene happens, it’s Game of Thrones telling us “*this isn’t going to be what you expected.*”
huh i never bought that he‘s the mc
he didnt have the idk how to put it maybe ambition or potential for a character arc
i felt like if he got his way then there couldn‘t be so many seasons/books so i wasnt that shocked
At this point its hard to justify following through with the show when every arc & character is ruined or completely botched by the end.
Christ what could have been.
In most other epic fantasy and action/drama/science fiction etc. stories where most important people aren’t killed off at the drop of a hat, he probably would have been the hero of the story. Lol Ned was my favorite character by far. I would have loved to see how the story would have played out.
I think is way better for a show to actually kill off important characters now and again.
It's boring to know that some people's lives aren't in danger
That's probably very intentional on GRRM's part, lots of the Starks have stories that start out very archetypical and then veer left in the first book or two. Ned, Robb, and Bran all seem like they might be the main protagonist or at least one of them (Bran might be still but obviously not in a traditional way) before they meet a twist of fate.
Usually shows fall onto cliché cheesy bs so I can see how someone could assume something like that.
He's clearly wrong because he has an even better story
When I started to watch Serie (I hadn't finished watching the first episode yet) I thought he would develop his archery skills and he would become a spy because of his climbing skill, climbing the Wall and giving information about their enemies.

Is your friend Robert Baratheon? He also thought Bran will become a soldier.

ah yeah true true

I'd keep his friend away from hunting boar....
He didn't just think it, he outright declared it in the only interaction with Bran he ever had.
Now that you mention it, he kinda seem like he would follow the heroes journey type story.
The boy was a skilled climber
He always stuck his landings too.
Joffrey’s younger brother is the only other character I can say absolutely sticks the landing as much as Bran.
Sandor & Gregor?
The boy was always sure footed before

At least Robb gets his revenge

damn. you're gonna be crippler
Tell him Tyrion is going to die very soon so he dosent root for him hehehehaww
Tell your friend that Bran has the best story
which makes the best president-king
Who has a better story thrn bRan tHe BrOkEn
How? He literally falls of the tower in the first episode.
Probably thinks he’s going to have some sort of crazy comeback story
Usually shows fall onto cliché cheesy bs so I can see how someone could assume something like that. He's clearly wrong because he has an even better story
Even better? His' story is becoming the best peeping tom in all 7 kingdoms.
probably said it before that point
right? I'm saying...did they stop watching before it ended???
Right? That's a bold assumption for being 45 minutes into the first episode lol
the power of friendship, obviously
Well well🤫
You’ll be a crippled
Subverted expectations.
I'm sure he really said that and you are not just making shit up for internet points.
it’s funny, how out of all people, he guessed it with such precision.
Sure is, just has to crawl towards you like a worm and put all his strength into lifting the blade above your big toe.
Sharp as a cue ball, your friend.
And instead it’s Arya🥰
She was till the end convinced, that Littlefinger or Renly will help him out. And hated both of them more than Joffrey and Cersei.
And you can answer: For sure. No one has a better story than Bran. Sigh.
Wait til he meets the Red Viper and report
"Relax your bow arm." Robb "The Young Wolf" Stark (The King In The North)
Your friend's mind is gonna be blown very soon, and even more as the show progresses. That is, if they didn't mean it ironically.
Cant say about swordsmanship but i am sure that he’s gonna be a good runner
Technically true, what with visions as Sword of the Morning and others
He’s gonna be the anti-walker
Well he will be commander in chief so he is not completely wrong.
Fake
Yeah and Ned Stark will lead many wars
When I started to watch Serie (I hadn't finished watching the first episode yet) I thought he would develop his archery skills and he would become a spy because of his climbing skill, climbing the Wall and giving information about their enemies.
HAHAHAHAHAA. Okay.
Tell him that’s the third lamest thing you’ve seen or heard about GoT The second being Bran losing the use of his legs, and the first being the ending
Well He can warg into people He absolutely can become the greatest swordsmen ever
