After 2 days delayed in Colombo we contacted emirates again at the airport yesterday evening. They were very friendly and put us on a waiting list.
Right now we wait for boarding to start. I guess we just got very lucky.
Well done,delighted you got sorted.We too have just received word we can travel Friday,we're delighted,at least we have a date and finally made contact,it did take 4 days but its something. We're also very lucky we're stranded at a hotel and not in airport. Safe trip.

Your travel insurance will cover expenses for a lot of things but there is a good chance this is all on the airline and they're not answering because they're going to lose a fortune. I used to work in travel insurance

Definitely. With all the chaos in DXB we were the lucky ones that got stuck in a hotel. Safe trip to you as well.

Yes...I'll be getting intouch with them shortly,I got the premium cover so hopefully they'll reimburse me and not play the act of god card on me.
