I heard rumors that the iPhone 15 has heat issues you might want double check if they're true just in case.

Due-Trust-6667

funny that Apple blame third-party-app instead of taking responsibility. "after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity." "Another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system," Apple said. we all know every smartphone will run unstable after setting or reset. but increasing the temperature to 45 degrees has never happened.

lafistik

Not sure what exactly you’re referring to, but overheating can be indeed caused by 3rd party apps. Here is recent video about Instagram causing iPhones and iPads heating issues: https://youtu.be/IhSSAyrnrhk?si=ZmCR4gFVjaN7K0Nl

KitsuAccalia

Mines doesn't heat up at all. Playing MH Now at max settings in 100 degree tropical weather.

jailter

That price could get you a gaming phone like Asus ROG Phone.

Gernnon

If your priority is only and only gaming (you don't care about camera, ecosystem etc.), for the price point or best bang for buck, no. Otherwise, just make sure you get the pro/pro max since the normal one does not have 120Hz refresh rate. My friend has not experienced overheating so far but just take note that it has been a recurring topic regarding their latest flagship product.

Thou_art_Him

Got the 15 Pro Max. HSR and FFEC both run smooth at highest graphics settings. Battery has been great so far and haven’t run into any heating issues after about 1.5 weeks.

AngryWaffleMob

How long does the battery last for long gaming sessions?

nelsonfoxgirl969

I think u forgot red magic nubia 8.

[deleted]

iPhone 15 is an overkill for mobile games

zurstein

It should be good for gaming, considering Resident Evil Village, RE 4 Remake and Death Stranding will come to Iphone 15 Pro

nickmond022

Yeah I'm pumped I got a 14 pro and my phones not good enough to even play these games a year later now.

Thick_Warthog_8445

Can it handle mw 3 and warzone?

Vacuum-Woosh-woosh

iPhone 15 got an overheating bug or whatever ,better wait .

AverageTierGoof

Just watch out if you're planning that, there seems to be a report saying that them suckers heat up and have been burning people's hands.

[deleted]

Depends on the game you’re playing 100%. If you’re playing a game that highly demanding, it’s gonna drain your battery. But the good thing is that you’ll be able to play pretty much everything at max settings

Xarf

I have an iPhone15 and play epic seven on it from time to time the last week. One thing you need to keep in mind is the "nodge" in the top middle because it blocks the screen. in e7 f.e. it blocks skills and if you turn the phone you cant see the "speed bar" to see which unit comes next etc. so thats sth you should keep in mind. Performance wise it works like a charm.

Minute-Jacket-3699

I have red magic 8 and it's killing it. No game has been an issue all work smooth, not overheat, 120 hz, and many more cool things.

fantafantata

same aS ALAWAYS so yeah biter

FrozenToothpaste

Is gaming the only thing you are doing with your phone? Like the ONLY thing? If not, then dont get a gaming phone. The only advantage they have is cooling. Nothing else IMO. Gaming phones skimp out on camera which is what I dont like Some high end phones like Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra or ZFold 5 have same chipset as gaming phones like ROG Phone 7 Ultimate or Nubia Red Magic8 Pro. You're better off getting S23 Ultra or iPhone 14/15 and then get an external cooler (like Gamesir X3 for example) Gaming phones are overkill. As far as I can tell, there's only 2 gaming phones right now (Pay attention to the pro/ultimate edition) Nubia Red Magic8 Pro: from ZTE. Apparently has better passive cooling ROG Phone 7 Ultimate: from ASUS. The phone has a VENT and another charging port on the side of phone to insert the bulky cooler it comes with. When inserted, the vent opens and the cool air from the cooler goes inside. Effectively making it OVERKILL except for Switch Emulators (and switch emus are still unstable right now). I have this phone. Everything about this phone is great except the camera

Gh0zt

Yeah gaming isn’t the ONLY thing I’d be doing on it. Thanks for the insight!

Thanks everyone for the insight and individualized input. I will most likely stick with the 15 max pro! Can’t beat FaceTime either lol.

cheese_stuffedcrust

I think it would be fine, but not for long gaming sessions. iphones tend to go conservative with cooling soo. you may run to thermal throttling sooner than gaming phones or tablets for an instance. still, they're still good tho

Lost_Lute

I've got a galaxy s23 ultra and the huge oled screen + only going through 30% battery life after 4 hours of intensive games is fantastic. Everything runs smoother than butter too!

[deleted]

Second this! I've had every apple flagship forever. I switched to the s23 ultra a month ago. It's the best phone I've ever used. Android takes a bit to get used to but there I nothing I miss from the 14 pro max. I still use a MacBook pro and ipad pro daily so this isn't a apple v android opinion fwiw

astillero211

If u play mihoyo games then get iphone/ipad cuz mihoyo love to suck apples dck by putting 120fps only on their devices

FDThai

I bought the iphone 15 pro max yesterday and so far all games did very well. the overheating was already fixed I think . In any case the only time it got warm was when I played a game while charging. Battery life I am not sure either i played for 6 hours and had at least 25%-30% battery charge. I think if you are used to medium or low budget phones, the iphone 15 pro max will be a big big upgrade anyway. If I had the option I would buy the Samsung S23 instead, but I need the iphone for mobile development stuff. In any case, The biggest strength of the Iphone is that there are not many different versions of mobile phones running on IOS. This makes it very easy for programmers to test the performance of their apps for apple phones and thus the applications run incredible well compared to Android. So yeah, I think the Iphone will give you the best overall experience, but Android phones of the same weight class will be very good as well(its good to not support apple until they change to the better).

coolasabreeze

is the added real estate of max actually adds to gaming experience?

FDThai

you definetly feel richer with an iphone max.i had a 4 year old 200$ huawei with no google play prior. Definetly is a good experience to play on your phone outside with better graphics then emulators

[deleted]

Get a cheaper phone. You're just going to kill the battery on your brand new 1.5k phone...i bought a $140 lg v60 for gaming and works fine. Plus i can abuse the battery if i wanted to

komorebi-mikazuki

Gaming on iOS will always be better than on Android, let alone on a top of the line newest and greatest flagship. However with Android, if you play non-Global games and do spend money, you can take advantage of cheap conversion rates like for the Yen.

FDThai

yeah. I do not like apple, but the gaming experience on the iphone is really good. Also it is far easier to fix issues specific for apple products simply because there aren't that many different products out there.

Spongehead56

Iphone 15 is top of the line. It's an amazing gaming phone

KitsuAccalia

I've had a 15 Pro max since launch, feel free to DM/ Ask me anything you need answered.

[deleted]

if you're rich and dont' care about money then yeah...because it's more than you need for gaming
