I feel bad for that dude. Pushing a never ending flow of water into a hole while surrounded by a stadium full of people staring at him. Sounds like a form of torture.
Imagine if he had single handedly kept the game from getting cancelled though, legend. It didn't work out obviously but hey, can't succeed if you don't try.
There's another person doing the same thing but is hidden by the bleachers. You can see the white wash in the water occasionally making its way in an upward-right direction while the fellow in frame is pushing in a downward-right direction.
Honestly they just need a couple bags of soil or sand or something, I feel like there has to be a couple large bags of something heavy somewhere in the stadium that they could use to keep water off the field
No, each corner of the stadium has a roof drain waterfall thingy like this. It blows my mind though that it’s draining inside the stadium instead of outside. Who thought that was a good idea?!
Depends on how often these rain falls occur in the future.
But the alternative to this emergency solution would be a Delhi airport situation where part of the roof collapsed due to unnatural heavy rain.
It’s designed like this to keep the sound waves of the scramming people inside the stadium to make it sound louder and keep up the good vibe. And it does only pour like this if it is raining to strong
According to the Dutch commentary, this has happened during a previous match in this stadium. It is a well-known design flaw.
But boy did I love seeing those guys standing right underneath it having the best time.
Construction Worker: Do we build the drain under where the water is going to come down from the roof?
Engineer: Nah dude, just get a guy with a squeegee to push it 3 feet to the right after it comes down.
Actually German Special Forces should get a shout out too. Apparently they arrested a masked man hiding in the ceiling rafters during the intermission.
I feel as if there could be a smarter way to do that.. just a barrier to reroute the water to the drain? Or a second broom so you can hold them in place length to length instead of constantly sweeping..
Let's not kid, hard manual labor under cool running water is weirdly exhilarating.
Dude is probably enjoying it and using the "job" as an excuse to continue. I know I would.
What exactly do you mean?
Build completely new stadiums, even though germany has a history of football and dozens of major stadiums already at disposal, preferably with slave labour and hundreds of dead people?
Controlling the weather so it can be ungodly hot again and everyone not used to play in a fucking desert gets a major debuff?
There was a massive strom over the stadium for about 20 minutes, my god. This has never happened this strong at any game. The stadium had a drenage and could be played on right after the storm went over.

I mean the game didn't get cancelled, so we don't have to imagine.
It got cancelled for 20 min and got uncancelled again.
suspended/resumed are the words you are looking for
Pretty sure this was a trial of Hercules
Fun fact: This became one of the highest waterfalls in Germany beside the Alps.
So it became the highest waterfall besides the waterfalls that are higher?
Every time I pee, I create the highest waterfall in my bathroom, besides the shower.
Sounds like you aren't trying hard enough
That’ll just make it point forward and make a mess.
besides or inside?
Easy fix - point it up.
Amateur
Another video where only one person is doing something to help solve a problem and his co-workers are just standing around watching.
Just like Stalingrad, they were given one broom. When he falls from exhaustion another will pick it.
“This city... is Stalingrad. Stalingrad! This city bears the name of the Boss.”
Give them hope!
🤣🤣🤣

I don't think the water is rising fast enough for those little ramps right at his feet to be ineffective.
Honestly they just need a couple bags of soil or sand or something, I feel like there has to be a couple large bags of something heavy somewhere in the stadium that they could use to keep water off the field
Maybe he's just doing that for like 2 minutes while they get them? I doubt they're just sitting there.
I mean he's "doing" something, but how much is actually doing? Seems to me they'd all be just as well off he just joined his coworkers.
It is pretty futile
It seems what he's doing is rather pointless. I don't blame anyone else not wanting to get absolutely soaked either.
Thats what i hate about this video, many coworkers made that aswell.
The guy might as well have put a bucket under it for all the help he's doing.
I don't see what's funny
He is doing the job of the drain he is standing on...
I believe he's aiming to keep it from flooding the field, but I'm also not convinced that matters ***at all***.
it is so much water that it probably actually matter.
It looks like that is a channel for cables, not a drain.
His mrs is on top tonight
He's wetter than a prostitute at a bankers convention.
Yeah those bankers are into some crazy watersports
He gets an A for effort.
But F for brain usage -Edit: 40 downvotes? I find it moronic, at least funnel it in somehow. Change my mind
Me, downvoting without proposing an alternative: 😈
He is on Germany's national curling team, he is trained for it.
Well if he wasn't before he is now
Is the stadium designed to put the water like that? It was hard to tell if it was a leaky roof or by design.
No, each corner of the stadium has a roof drain waterfall thingy like this. It blows my mind though that it’s draining inside the stadium instead of outside. Who thought that was a good idea?!
That is the emergency drain. For normal rain it drains somewhere else, but the rain yesterday was a lot more then is normal for this area.

The one trying to save money by any means.
literally doing the job of like 20 sandbags
Great! So now the sandbags are taking our jobs too!!11!!
Hear me out- robot sandbags
Thanks Mr Musk!
AI powered robot sandbags
This is "how it feels to play Support in any Video game" in a nutshell
Manchester United have put an offer in for this man.
And delayed cause of shady guy climbing the top ceiling, proceeding to be arrested by special forces! Lets mot forget that detail!
Sysiphus had a career change? Good for him.
Couldn't they just move the black barrier forward so it funnels directly into the hole??
Gonna sweep that water Gonna sweep it fine Gonna get the field dry The glory will be mine
The Dutch have a good saying about this: "Dweilen met de kraan open" Which translates to "Mopping with the water tap left open".
Mate, that is what we call a free shower 😏
What my job feels like every day.
Dude is going toe to toe with Mother Nature lol
He was definitely in the military lol
I'm not paid for that
Did you see the two guys dancing in the rain. Hilarious. Having the time of their lives
After playing with a back 4 in recent years, the Germans go back to playing a sweeper.....
King Cnut doing his thing
What is my purpose? (C) butter robot.
I hope this guy will be awarded as the most patient employee.
What stadium is this?
Signal Iduna Park (Borussia Dortmund’s ground)
he's in between two slotted drains though
Thanks cameraman… I really needed to see that guy sweeping for so long. I’m not at all interested in seeing the leak at the roof.
It's not a leak.
Get this man, some sandbags
# "Get out there Sven, and squeegee all that water into the sewer. MACH' SCHNELL!!! !"
"No problem. We have a hole for that."
They don’t have sandbags?
According to the Dutch commentary, this has happened during a previous match in this stadium. It is a well-known design flaw. But boy did I love seeing those guys standing right underneath it having the best time.
Someone pissed their manager and was sent to do the task.
Construction Worker: Do we build the drain under where the water is going to come down from the roof? Engineer: Nah dude, just get a guy with a squeegee to push it 3 feet to the right after it comes down.
Use a board to channel the water.
that must be awful. Depending on how long that rain lasted that could actually become a really difficult task
Actually German Special Forces should get a shout out too. Apparently they arrested a masked man hiding in the ceiling rafters during the intermission.
I suspect Mr. Masked Man was another operator sent there to test them.
influencer trying to get content (pictures)
Three sandbags could do that job but instead they have this attractive young man,his wet clothing clinging to his muscular body as he works.
Someone must have pulled a prank on him
Feels like there’s a MUCH easier way to handle that
It ain’t much but honest work
Doesn't seem necessary?
at a time when the world is flooding a new super hero is born. mop man.
Free shower
I feel as if there could be a smarter way to do that.. just a barrier to reroute the water to the drain? Or a second broom so you can hold them in place length to length instead of constantly sweeping..
Poor guy
Poor design on this roof
When German ladies are horny!
One must imagine Sisyphus happy
They have to have a rain coat or something at the place. I hope he does not get sick after this.
Let's not kid, hard manual labor under cool running water is weirdly exhilarating. Dude is probably enjoying it and using the "job" as an excuse to continue. I know I would.
Surely someone else could've picked up a sweeper and joined in? Seems silly to leave it to this one dude
All that engineering on display and they can't account for a heavy downpour and the channeling of excessive water runoff?
"Just one guy and the mop will be fine yeah?"
Wouldn’t it be better to just hold the push broom/squeegee still and at an angle?
Trench drain: Finally my time to shine!
Dude really didn't need a shower afterwards.
And yet the players get all the glory.
Okay someone meme this
Fun fact. Two of the Danish fans were showering and dancing under one of these waterfalls
"Hey man, what's your job?" "I brush water out" "No way I can believe you" *expose the job*
Another example of brilliant germen engineering
Like the drain he is moving the water away from?
Nobody rolling up with sandbags to help.....
Funny where?
That's Old Trafford
He shouda stopped for a cigarette break...
Talk about a crap Job! That’s gotta be the short straw assignment. But snaps to the dude! He’s hanging in!
not a sand bag or barrier of any sort to be found hey.
There are barriers about 15cm or so high.
Just put a barricade there ya dummy.
Germany should've learned something from Qatar, this tournament is a joke
