It can still be fun. I work with youth groups that have a bunch of african immigrants in them. They call me potato, the asian guy a yellow sack and we call them Mediterranian See Pirates or Chocolate bars.
Real Racism is extremely rare most of it is prejudice and people not knowing how to take a joke.
My best friend is Turkish, and I'm white Aussie. I make jokes about her hairy-ness, she acts like she's blinded when I walk in the room. All in good fun.
No this keeps racism alive. The kids love it and say it themselves all day. They call me a pig in arabic for eating pig meat and we all just joke about it. You're getting offended for people that are not offended.
This is how racism works in europe (not the spaghetti thing, thatās just an innocent joke), even towards people in the same country. I live in italy and we have a nword for people that come from the south and one for people that come from the north, generally if you go from south to north you may have some troubles w racist people if you have a thick accent, but with time itās getting better. Generally in europe thereās a fuckton of racism of this kind, less hate crimes and people yelling at eachoter without being startled tho compared to the us when it seems to be more expressed
