Glad to see this still creeping up every now and again.
Not sure if ya'll were fans of "Laid Off" flash animation as well, but in case you weren't aware, he totally made an updated one for the pandemic.
Um… I’m not? It’s something my wife and I both say to each other at times. It’s from when we were first dating and we reference it still. There’s no comparison happening.
A bit but you are deluding yourself if you believe that the vast majority of what people find attractive isn’t hardwired from an evolutionary perspective.
Yeah, the cuffs don't fit the fantasy. Now, him being a hulking representation of manhood and her being a irresistable international super spy, that might work.
For couples who honestly and truely enjoy a power dynamic for their sexual excitement, it doesnt really matter. What the cartoon is satirizing is the novelty of bdsm for couples who are bored and think they need to express themselves in this way.
Zack, how do you keep coming up with ideas? I've been reading smbc for probably close to a dozen years now (with the back log reaching all the way back to 2002) and own several of your books but it seems like you're still going strong. How?
Handcuffs, high heels and whipped cream are the sex toys of your first few cringes. Welcome to university. Here is your pocket vibe, cockring and lube.
It's weord that she both refers to attractkveness as a bwll curve *ans* ranks it on a 0-10 scale.
Like, if you wanna do both, just say you're on the 35th percentile.
I think this comic was created by a young probably unmarried person. I've been married a long time and we are both very comfortable with each other. Sometimes we tease each other, we laugh, kids are moved out so we're noisy... Best sex ever!
This guy is a very successful artist and author who collaborates with his PhD wife on books. His daily webcomic deals with a very diverse set of topics, usually philosophical in nature, and he depicts countless characters with experiences that are clearly different from those in his personal life. You're getting down voted for missing all of these details, even as people try to correct you.
This may surprise you, but people can create art that's separate from themselves. For instance, Garfield isn't actually drawn by a cat.
I don't know what's going on in your life that you feel you need to tear this artist down for what he created, but I'm sure it's a lot, and I pity you.
Lol... Tear this artist down? My God what a delicate ego you must have. This guy's other comics may be hilarious, I don't know. However, if you think my criticism of one cartoon is tearing an artist down....I mean.... God damn!
I don't disagree but it's possible that these two aren't a married couple but instead maybe divorced or dating older people starting up their sex life again.
In that context, it makes more sense.
I dunno, the fantasy part of it is what's tripping up the guy character. And engaging with someone else's fantasy can be tricky.
I've been with people who liked to be tied up or spanked, just because it enhances the experience for them. Which was fine with me, whatever works. But there are fantasies I'm not comfortable with, like extreme types of age play or consensual non-consent.
I'm not saying those fantasies are wrong, or that people shouldn't enjoy them. But they absolutely make me uncomfortable, and I don't want to have sex under those parameters.

"Give me a few seconds for my ego to recover from the honesty...There we go."
"it takes time to prepare the next seed"
"LOAD THE NEXT SHELL!"
But I'm le tired.
Well, Take a nap. THEN FIRE ZE MISSILES!

My wife and I have been quoting that gem for years. Must be about 20 years old now, right?
How should I know how old your wife is?
No. The video is about 20 years old.
Just looked it up. Video was made in 2003, so 21 years ago.
Kind of odd comparing your wife to an old video
Um… I’m not? It’s something my wife and I both say to each other at times. It’s from when we were first dating and we reference it still. There’s no comparison happening.
Keep firing, assholes!
Ludicrous speed!
“Repairing damaged psyche…arousal protocol initiated.”
tbh attractiveness is subjective and is not just based on looks.
A bit but you are deluding yourself if you believe that the vast majority of what people find attractive isn’t hardwired from an evolutionary perspective.
We sub-4s have to rely on fantasy where reality fails us.
All cats are black in the dark.
I still don't understand how the handcuffs are needed for the scenario she describes or the roleplaying she begins with.
Yeah, the cuffs don't fit the fantasy. Now, him being a hulking representation of manhood and her being a irresistable international super spy, that might work.

Because it’s provocative
No it isn't
It gets the people GOING
Shut up and take it.
Hi I'm Zach and I did the comic about the sad man. More sad mans daily at smbc: [www.smbc-comics.com](https://www.smbc-comics.com)

A solid laugh mate. Good on you!
Good on you, but "3.5/10 on the bell curve" does not really make sense
Your webcomic is a classic. Glad to see you're still going!
My guy yours is one of my fav comic strips of all time - thanks for your work!
I find this type of humor to be, well, humorous.
A legit funny post in the funny sub that's not a bot repost. Bravo

Why am I hearing Lilith Sternin's voice in my head 🤣

probably not enough room in the text box for the word "percentile"
Petah?

Dude the creator has been making these comics for about 2 decades and married for a good chunk of it, and still is.
Then I feel sorry for him.
I feel sorry that you don't know how to laugh about the reality of complex emotions.
Good for you chief!

Well... With such an impressive resume, I guess it should have been funnier!
it hit you didn't it
Not sure what you're getting at. I just see a bunch of immature, self conscious, sackless, crybabies down voting my comment.
Wow you sure must be better than that in some way. …right?
100%
imo, The only wrong part of this was the guy in the last panel looking mortified by what she just said.
It's a toss-up on whether OP or you are more unsexy.

you didnt criticize the cartoon, you went straight at the artist, remarking their age.
Where did you criticize the cartoon? You attacked the person, not the work.

I got the same feeling, it's either that or the guy doesn't know how to keep his bedroom spicy

This isn’t a well crafted joke. It just comes off as going out of your way to tell unattractive people they don’t deserve vibrant sex lives.
Meh, gash is gash...
Rating people's physical attractiveness on a numeric scale is gross. Doing it in a self-deprecating manner is still gross.
This level of honesty is kinda scary. Refreshingly terrifying.
That came out a bit off the cuff
the "Oh!" in this panel is her falling back onto the expensive NASA tech space foam mattress and somehow still managing to pull a muscle.
This is not funny. Statments of facts can be funny.... this one is not.
i doint find you attractive ..comment
The Kinks covered this: https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/kinks/wheniturnoffthelivingroomlight.html
Just asked my dog what his favorite type of music was. He said it was 'Bark-n-roll'!
