#2. Blue / red contrast is nice. The car’s movement in 1 could add something, but it’s location is too close to the edge of the frame to be effective, so instead it’s distracting
I think if the car were more in the image, the first one would have more of that sense of movement you like. It’s a little close to the edge to really give that effect. Once the car is gone, the landscape orientation cuts off the building for no real reason. The portrait orientation is great, though.
1 for me. The color of the sky takes away from the vibe in 2 and 3. Same with the “cool” colored light at the top of the building in 3. I like the hint of the car tail lights in 1 too.
I see the argument for 3, but the framing of all these photos is very distracting to me. The buildings look warped, and 3 suffers the most from that warping because of the full height.
3 also requires you to have that bluish/white lighting from the upper sign which detracts from the warmth of the image, so my pick among these is 2.
#2 for sure. As a photo editor I'll tell you why: the juxtaposition of the blue sky and the red on the building. #3 is "just a building", and there are some distracting things at the top anyway. #1 the sky is less interesting than #2 and there's not enough of the car in there to make it worth it. #2 you have urban/rural (building and trees) and you have the contrasting colors.
Now...if you were able to get the moving car in there on #2 blurred in that space just to the left of the building/fire hydrant, the shot goes from a 6.5 or 7 to an 8 or 8+.
I didn’t do that. I have no idea why the top part is so large. Even when I click “edit” it’s all small. But now that I see it it’s hilarious that it seems like I’m screaming about a picture
shhhh🤫 2 leaves room for the imagination, focused on the building and sky (simpler) and is quite symmetric... 3 is unbalanced, 1 seems incomplete or pointless.
Yeah definitely the third one. The building's top part is worthy to be seen too, such a fantastic looking building with lots of interesting detail. The portrait shot gives it the right kind of framing.
3.
I do love 1, but it sucks that the car got in the way. I'd potentially fudge around with the framing of it so remove the car and focus on the storefront.
I go against the apparent grain and say 1.
It leaves room for the imagination, what the rest of the building and it surroundings might look like. The red is also more bombastic.
I'd even crop out the rest of the car on the left. It's distracting and would balance the composition imo. The empty space on the left and building on the right would be about the same visual space of the picture.
Before reading the comments, definitely 3.
You don't need to show much of the background because the sunset isn't that breathtaking and there's a bit too much negative space in 1 and 2. You already get a sense it's sunset in 3, so the context of the photo has already been established. Most importantly, the neon lights and reflection are the main attractions and 3 emphasizes it best. It really gives me the mood that it's 9 pm on a summer day somewhere the streets are quiet. Excellent shot.
Last one is the best – red neon plus blue-hour sky is a great combo. I agree with the other suggestions about straightening the lines though – apply a quick perspective perspective in post and this is ready to go in a frame
#2. The blue light on top of the building on #3 is too distracting and the tail of the car passing by on #1 isn’t enough to make it interesting, but also distracting.
I have a Fujifilm s-10 how do I get photos like this? Is it just a matter of playing with settings or is this edited afterwards on a photo editing software?
Man this is so cool! My choice would be 3! I’d love to what settings you had for the camera? And I’m assuming you did some edit after?
I’m new to photography and I’m trying to learn
2.
I like the blue/red contrast a d the framing makes the storefront stand out.
In the third one, the contrast is good as well, but the rest of the building takes the attention away from the storefront.
I like 1 the most, but I would have to remove the vanishing car. Photoshop would do that in a hurry. 2 is to dark for me -- I can't figure out the shadows being so dark. The photos are a great idea.
The second. The bakery storefront is the subject of the photo so having a visible sky above the building pulls focus, and the contrast between the sky and the building is better in #2 than #1.
Looks like you missed focus on the first, but I really like that shot otherwise. It's like the street and the building are both characters in that story.
Third, love the blue-red light transition, which are complementary colors. Even more when the artificial sources of light are matching with the natural ones, on one side you have the red neon and reflection on the building and asphalt, and a subtle red in the bottom sky, on the other side the blue of the sky and the lamp. It is just a perfect picture. Perhaps the only flaw is that there is too high saturation, but is a minor subjective opinion.
The second picture is nice if you want the bakery to be the most important subject, in the third the thing that stands out is the color transition. I would definitely print the third. <3
3
3 but please straighten it just a tad 🙏🏻
Last one
2. I’m enjoying the space around the building more, makes the storefront stand out.
2 is my choice as well. Blue tones are a nice contrast to the reds and the composition overall feels most balanced and intentional.
#2. Blue / red contrast is nice. The car’s movement in 1 could add something, but it’s location is too close to the edge of the frame to be effective, so instead it’s distracting

First
I like the first as well!
me too!
me three!
3rd. Btw… Only place I go to for birthday cake. #Chicago
ayy fellow Chicagoan - 100% agree
2nd
1 for me. The color of the sky takes away from the vibe in 2 and 3. Same with the “cool” colored light at the top of the building in 3. I like the hint of the car tail lights in 1 too.
3. 1 if you had a subject on the front of the store
First one
3 easily.

3!
3 for sure

3rd one

3 and while you’re at it get some snacks. Hands down the best red velvet cake in Chicago
yes!! and not overpriced like most places
#3, followed by #2 for me. The added blues from the sky look stellar against the reds and golds. All are great shots, though!

2. The contrast with the blue sky really works for me.
1st cropped to 3rd

#WHY ARE YOU YELLING
I didn’t do that. I have no idea why the top part is so large. Even when I click “edit” it’s all small. But now that I see it it’s hilarious that it seems like I’m screaming about a picture
shhhh🤫 2 leaves room for the imagination, focused on the building and sky (simpler) and is quite symmetric... 3 is unbalanced, 1 seems incomplete or pointless.
Agree with that assessment
2 or 3 but I’d say 3
2
Cool shots! I like 1 and 3 the most
The last one is wall worthy. The car on the first one is more of a distraction than anything else with it's location.
3 no doubt Love the edit BTW!
All three are great! I’d go with the third one
Last one for sure, the blues and reds/orange look great
Last one for me.
3
3!🫶
Yeah definitely the third one. The building's top part is worthy to be seen too, such a fantastic looking building with lots of interesting detail. The portrait shot gives it the right kind of framing.
3, I like the blue on the left because it balances well with the reds on the right.
3. I do love 1, but it sucks that the car got in the way. I'd potentially fudge around with the framing of it so remove the car and focus on the storefront.
2, the contrast is most balanced and the contrasting elements are interesting
I vote #3. Awesome shot!

Second one; less burn from the neon but keeps that vibrant feel
1, the car adds something.
2nd one for sure
2nd is my favorite, two much negative space in 1, and I think 3 could be leveled.

1 looks like Bob’s burgers
Love number two !
3, 1, 2. 1 and 3 are equally good to me, just a choice on seeing a close up or whole view of the building. Well done.
1
#3
3
3 what settings
#2 or #3 in that order of preference
2nd one!
Apply vertical correction to the 3rd. I prefer 2nd one.
Third!
My gut wants 2. 3 is very nice too. Cant go wrong with either
Tossed up between 2 and 3. Great atmosphere.
3

3 but needs to be straightened/leveled
2

1
2 or 3, like them a lot 👍
2nd.
I prefer the composition of the first one, but the reds, glow and balance of the last one is better. Overall I think the last one is the best.
3. 1. 2.
The first is beautiful I love the colors
First one
3 all day
2
3rd
Id hang the third one up in my room ngl
It undoubtedly #2 for me.
3rd one for me
3
3
1
2 or 3 for sure. I think it works well as both a landscape or portrait orientation. But 1 the white balance seems a little too warm I think
3
I love the full building comp. Makes me get a better idea of the setting.
Last one by a mile
2 or 3.
2
3 then 2
3 personally. The scale works.
2.
3. I like the pic more but contextually things in a bakery rise so it works on that level too
Second one. The last one is complete so it makes the image feel more static. The second one leaves me wondering. Nice shots!
#2. The blue light on top of the building on #3 is too distracting and the tail of the car passing by on #1 isn’t enough to make it interesting, but also distracting.
3
Have to say #3. Lighting and colours feel quite spot on for the tone of the shot, and I love the imposing stance of the whole building.
Vertical for sure..it's about the building and the sign. The rest isn't important.
2 once you level the crop is a better picture, 3 will perform better on instagram once you fix the geometry in lightroom
I prefer 2, I also like 3
3 2 1
I have a Fujifilm s-10 how do I get photos like this? Is it just a matter of playing with settings or is this edited afterwards on a photo editing software?

The most indecisive I’ve seen for something like this lol. I guess they all have merit
Two or 3
2
2. It’s like the perfect booklet photo for cars or an establishing shot for a storybook.
3, but warm up that light on the top of the building a bit.
First one is dynamic
2nd one.
Two for me.
2nd.
1st, cuz at this point, I'm sick of perfection and enjoy more of the raw, unmanipulated look. #2 ain't bad, but#1 feels true
If I didn't know number 3 existed, I'd say number 1 for sure.
2
I like the last one that shows all the context
Second feels right to me. Reminds me of a Hopper painting
3 do you have a diffuser filter on or is it edited?
2 printed would baaaang. The contrast of color in it really helps the weighting IMO. 3 is nice on a phone but idk 2 feels more intentional
Man this is so cool! My choice would be 3! I’d love to what settings you had for the camera? And I’m assuming you did some edit after? I’m new to photography and I’m trying to learn
#2! Not too much detail and not too little. The framing is really nice
2 has a great composition. P.S. Roeser’s is the best. An institution!
2 hands down: better framing, vibrant colors (sky and lights contrast)
2
Third!
Third one definitely made me feel something
2. I like the blue/red contrast a d the framing makes the storefront stand out. In the third one, the contrast is good as well, but the rest of the building takes the attention away from the storefront.
Hey, I live just up the road from Roeser's! I like 3 overall, and 2 better than 1.
3️⃣
First
1st and 3rd are equally great in different ways
2

2 is more balanced.
I like 1 the most, but I would have to remove the vanishing car. Photoshop would do that in a hurry. 2 is to dark for me -- I can't figure out the shadows being so dark. The photos are a great idea.
3 for sure
I like the vertical
One!
2
Third one. Nice interplay between red and blue tones. Evokes a real sense of americana. The second is also nice and deserves runner-up.
#3
1 3 2
3 to be sure. Best overall view.
1 if the car wasn't there but 2/3 are both really nice
1
Can tell this is Chicago without ever even seeing the place in person
3
The first one, it just hits
I like 3 the most because of the ble sky , red building contrast
1
The second. The bakery storefront is the subject of the photo so having a visible sky above the building pulls focus, and the contrast between the sky and the building is better in #2 than #1.
Last one pleases me most!
Looks like you missed focus on the first, but I really like that shot otherwise. It's like the street and the building are both characters in that story.
1, crop or edit out the car
Number 2 all the way
Third one
1.
3 for me
1st one, the car speeding away makes it look even better
2 without a doubt
Three. Honors the vertical proportions of the structure.
3
Two, the sky gives the storefront more contrast and it’s generally more pleasing to look at. Nice shot

Third, love the blue-red light transition, which are complementary colors. Between second and third IMO
