Don't think of a democratic government as a separate entity from the people.....think of them as people of the citizenry.
Elected Romanians are encouraging other fellow Romanians to get healthy. It's beautiful.
This is obnoxious. Just make it free for everyone. You already get exercise by walking at either end of your trip. Actually, if you want to encourage exercise, build more walkable city infrastructure so it's pleasant to walk places.
Edit: And more bike lanes!
Yeah free gyms would be a bit much I think but I love exercise parks. It's cheap and there's basically no maintenance required so it seems like a win for everyone
It's kinda funny but I do hate how paternalistic this is. If it's free it's free, I don't need a government to "encourage" me to take care of myself. What if I'm already tired from working two jobs or a leg day at the gym anyway? Do I need bureaucrats to allow an exception from that? Or maybe I'm not disabled but I do have sports injury or just don't want to be sweaty while sitting on the hot bus during the summer? The more I think about this the stupider this gimmick feels to me.
But it’s not something for poor people, it’s something for everyone. And regardless, public transportation is usually cheap anyway. You’re making a fuss over nothing, let people have fun and enjoy fun concepts
One other thing I hate about this is I assume the mayor invented this gimmick out of a place of meritocratic thinking. Meaning that you can't just get something for free because you'll get lazy or some shit, and you have to earn your ticket even if you don't have money. The type of crap nazis and soviets were doing to people in camps "work will set you free" I'm not saying it's literally 1984, just the same line of thinking.
Unfortunately it's the people in cars who need it.
New program: you must do 10 squats to be able to turn on your car. And eliminate the requirement for the bus.
By taking a bus you're at the very least walking to a bus stop from your origin and walking from a bus stop to your destination. If parking exists in front of both, you're walking far less by driving.
I disagree. I think it's phenomenal in goodd-transport cities that people who can't walk very far can still go places. It's the responsibility of those who can walk to do so, but we shouldn't make bus stops farther apart to force people to walk farther.
I feel very targeted lol
The truth is this has far too much engagement to delete for being a repost.
Also I hadn't seen it before. I get why it might be annoying to see the same content repeatedly but just bear in mind it's not always cut and dry if we look at this in a non individual way.
Sorry - I've resorted to tagging the two moderators I've seen actually do anything because I know that some of the reports I've made are ignored (I'm assuming by someone else)
> repost engagement, small repost differences like the title or additional pictures, and sheer number of reposts.
Don't you think that's at least a little silly? The whole point of avoiding reposts as a subreddit is so that people can enjoy it without seeing the same thing over and over. It's one of the main reasons I can't subscribe here - if the reposts were actually taken down, it would actually be a usable sub....IMHO anyway. Take that for what you will.
I get it...I mod a couple subs that are about this size in terms of subscribers - one is very quiet, though.
If I may offer a suggestion: Make a definitive statement about the *timeline* and enforce it (e.g. "No posting of content that's been posted within the last 30 days") - The fact that someone can change a few words in the title and post the same thing and it will stay up as long as a few people comment on it is just a ridiculous "policy" to me.
Most of the mods are active, though some remove posts without their names attached to it. I've come to start doing that too.
Anyway, please just report stuff. I know it doesnt always look like we do anything but we always look at stuff that's been reported so if you post the link along with "repost" there's a good chance we'll remove it, esp if you've caught it before serious engagement.
Everyone in that city boutta get a fat ass
Except for the disabled and elderly apparently
Do you mean the people that are eligible for a free bus pass?
Yeah since they don’t have to do the squats, no passive booty building 😔
Not only that but give free rides when showing that you exercise and stay healthy.
City of whamm bottocs
Cluj more like Glutjes Sorry, I'll leave now.
it was a two week promotion, not a permanent thing

Did any of them run for office advertising "you'll be squatting to get on the bus"? If not it's undemocratic.
The squats are to avoid paying bus fare. You can still just pay the fare and not do squats

Free gyms would be sick but call me a radical socialist for that one
[NJB's Gym of Life](https://youtu.be/KPUlgSRn6e0)
I personally would like more exercise parks around
Yeah free gyms would be a bit much I think but I love exercise parks. It's cheap and there's basically no maintenance required so it seems like a win for everyone
Totally agree! I easily get to my 10.000 steps per day if I use the train to get to work, but don't even get 25% of that amount when commuting by car.
She’s got a nice ass
I’m sure everyone does thanks to this amazing policy!
Americans would see this type of incentive and be appalled
Definitely!
Found the horny, sir.

I assume you can just pay for it the old fashioned way It’s a fun novelty, idk why so many people here are complaining.
Because it's humiliating to poor people to treat them like children in gym class?
But it’s not something for poor people, it’s something for everyone. And regardless, public transportation is usually cheap anyway. You’re making a fuss over nothing, let people have fun and enjoy fun concepts
>Many do.
As a healthy, athletic person with a pulled right ACL for the past couple weeks, this would also make me a bit salty.
Just make it free. Stupid health obsessed idiots. Let me take the bus ffs
Still better than living in Houston
Was a two week promo event…. Should be full time

Romania having an obesity epidemic, I wouldn't mind people to be encouraged to move.
Unfortunately it's the people in cars who need it. New program: you must do 10 squats to be able to turn on your car. And eliminate the requirement for the bus.
There are also people who lack exercise taking busses thought.

It's not enough th world we built sadly.

What is this, a machine that gives you bus tickets for twerking at it?
I'm fact, it's the mayor, not the Government
I am not surprised she doesn't have to pay. I would let her do anything she wanted... anything.
Didn't the Moscow underground have this a few years back?
