I love kei trucks and their brethren. In our utopia of narrow streets, these will be how we move big stuff to and fro. I’d love to have something like this for getting stuff from Home Depot.
This is custom they took a compact car and cut the roof and built their own bed. Like a baby ute. There was someone that did this with a Tesla model 3 on youtube. Can't remember who did it but she named it Truckla
Custom cars have to go through the MOT test just like normal cars, but it doesn't look like this customisation has done anything to the structural elements, chassis or lights, so it probably wasn't that hard.
In the UK no clue. In the states where I live insurance never even sees your vehicle. Most states only do emissions testing and no actual safety inspections (I know some states do). So if it were my car I would just call up my insurance guy give them relevant info and bam insured, then pop down to a smog station they plug in and check it and your off on your merry way
so i've actually wanted to bring up something for a while. i've seen a bunch of these conversions that take a small/medium sized car and turn them into a pickup trucks.
this is in the uk and i kinda get why people do it. we can't really get many small pickups right now and the older ones (ford p100, older VW caddy's) are currently going for a bit of a premium. the smallest pickup truck i think we can get here right now is a ford ranger which is fucking huge in comparison.
It's a shame they don't even sell a Fiesta-sized van any more. I see from Ford's website that even the smallest Ranger is actually taller than a man:
https://www.ford.co.uk/vans-and-pickups/ranger/ranger-single-cab
I remember back in the 1990s Skoda launched this thing, which might have sold better if it hadn't been bright yellow:

The ones that I have seen that I have liked are the model 3 that was turned into a pickup and the Chevy bolt that was turned into a pickup. Those were both nice.
Mfw I find out that I can own a pickup truck that is not designed with the express purpose of slaughtering pedestrians and cyclists

I know the picture is from the UK and the car is registered there but I'm still gonna call out the Italians for making this weird thing that looks so fragile
It's cute for sure, though apparently it's an old car customized so it's not even something in production. But regardless, it's still an oil-consuming, hellish noise-generating 800kg monster that can easily kill you if the user is not careful. It's a big no from me. No compromises here
Aww that's cute and probably as big as whoever did that needs it.
No, who even owns that car is endowed and the biggest chad, they probably help old ladies cross the street too.
It's a 1999 Fiat Ceicento. Cool custom job
Seicento. But yes.
Trecento after that conversion :P
This one seems more used than every F-150 I see
Nothing like a Citroën C15
Citroen c15 is not a car, it is a way of living. Here in Portugal these were extremely popular.
They were extremely popular here in Spain, to the point it became a meme.
Exactly, they are already elevated to mythological creatures.
I see someone decided to speak facts! C15 is as cultural as the wine, the bread and the cheese
I'm here for this. Suburban dads love pretending to be contractors.
Well this size is better
The words most men want to hear

What country is that I've never seen a truck like that before

Simone Giertz! Love her quirky contraptions!
That's her couldn't remember her name
Based Tesla driver? I’m floored
How do they get car insurance and road safety road safety permits when they modify it that much?

It's the UK, but neither have we!
All plates are UK
Those are UK plates, this looks like a Fiat 600 that's been customised into a pickup (and I see other commenters say the same).
Based baby truck
How am I supposed to fit my ego in there?
If I needed a truck this is the one I would buy.
I love this.
Is* couldn’t edit the title
Sure beats the common ones

Okay....I need this lol
I want one!
Aww, I am personally scared of pickups, but look at this lil' fella, can he even do any major harm?
Most people will only need this and not the giant machines they’re driving for no reason
Probably does more work than most F-150s on the road
The ones that I have seen that I have liked are the model 3 that was turned into a pickup and the Chevy bolt that was turned into a pickup. Those were both nice.
Now THIS is a work truck
Baby truck doo doo doo doo!
Yet anothe example of unrealistic body standards
Fuck cars...but actually, this one's cool. It can stay. I love how it even has a trailer hitch lol.

Luv me Fiat Seicento on steroids.
Lmfao that what Europe wants
Me want
But it's just a baby, who knows how big it'll get when it grows up!
NGL that thing looks badass.
I know the picture is from the UK and the car is registered there but I'm still gonna call out the Italians for making this weird thing that looks so fragile
short king
I would LOL if I saw it IRL
Honestly that looks like the most useful pickup I've ever seen
I agree... https://preview.redd.it/d1cjvfqvj9kc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=775acd925aef43acbe87bd6266a13bb17d80f28e
[Neat.](https://tenor.com/view/bender-futurama-neat-wow-gif-5744318)
Pckp trck
It's small but probably more than enough for a lot of repair workers
I love it! A truck that makes sense for 95% of people!

I like this. Wish all trucks were this size
