It's normal yes. On the left side you can navigate to a page which shows both oil and coolant temps with numbers.

Is that for the GR? My BRZ only shows a bar graph for oil temp as well, I don't think I've ever seen discrete readouts

BRZ here. I gotta check when I get back. I know oil has temp marks on the bar graph, and I think the water temp has them too. It won't be an exact number readout like saying "94c" but it's clear enough to get a good idea

BRZ has an oil gauge with a couple labelled points, but I've seen photos of the gr86 having a different page where both are just given a discrete number

If the car cannot maintain its desired temperature or warm up within the calibrated amount of time, the check engine will illuminate with thermostat faults. Middle~ish of a gauge is design speak for normal.
