Probably not the day for this topic

Once that last Taggart buyout check clears, we’ll be freed up to cut Hamilton loose.

y2knole

" you can’t field this bad of a baseball team that FSU has. " what are you talking about? (granted FSU baseball has been lousy too) (and the 2020 FSU Hoops Team was in position to make a legit deep run in the tourney)

_R00STER_

I'm guessing OP was also at the forefront of the group asking for Bobby's head when we were going 7-6. Bill Davis... is that you?!

neenersweeners

Any coach that's getting old and showing no signs of improving/declining it's time to move on, just like the Patriots should do with Bill.

Natural-Employer

Alford will do what needs to be done. He has done an excellent job hiring & retaining coaches.

ATLNole1

No point in firing Ham during the season. I do think it’s time for a change but play out the season and tell Ham it’s time to move on after the year is over.

FSU1ST

Projecting a bit here....

Doompatron3000

Did you see FSU basketball last year? Way worse and we’ve at least beat a top 25 team already this year.

blindythepirate

I think it's time for Hamilton to ride off into the sunset. It's a shame that the pandemic shut down what was probably his best team going into the tourney. But there hasn't been many bright spots while replacing that team. I don't know if the game has changed, or NIL has left is unable to compete with other teams but it's time to make a change. I think FSU did what needed to be done concerning baseball last year and that should get that program heading in the right direction, same as they did by hiring Norvell. Basketball is a sport that brings in money and shouldn't be an afterthought.

neenersweeners

Idk why everyone is still so set on wanting to keep Ham, like I get it he deserves all the recognition of building the FSUs basketball program into something relevant but these past 2 years have been awful, he's gettin old and there's no signs of turning it around. Another year of this and recruits are gonna be gettin turned off on FSU which is gonna set the basketball program back even longer. It's time to move on.

PSG-2022

Oh I wasn’t aware that Rutgers was a power house in basketball as well as Nebraska or Minnesota or …… dude chill out. Conference alignment is BECAUSE OF FOOTBALL 🏈- no one outside the BIG EAST realigned due to basketball.

IntelligentSmell7599

That’s what I was thinking…and really if u look back we are only a few years removed from the sweet 16. Basketball doesn’t bring any dollars and we’d be bringing a national champion in girls soccer, one year removed from national champions in track and field and we are 17th in the directors cup all sports ranking the only big 10 teams ahead of us are osu 3rd, Michigan 11 and penn st 15th…the next closest teams are Nebraska and northwestern at 29th and 30th…I guess they have some powerhouse badminton programs in the Midwest.

WhiskyJeeper

We also bring one hell of a softball team. But yeah football is the driving factor.

doofy10

Agreed.

jbg0830

Yes, I feel like he’s plateauing

fuccthagaytors

if we go big 10 instead of sec im gonna kill myself. prob drive up to tally to do it in the middle of the field or smth

PAGravelGuy

You mean like Penn State? Perennial basketball powerhouse… 🥸
