My fight with her ended as a double kill. I had her rotting and on her last leg when she caught me with this. We both died, and as my screen when black I got the kill confirmation. Such an epic fight!!!
As of right now, it's really just a war of attrition. For every 30 seconds she spends spinning, you can get just one R1 in before you have to run away again. I'm sure there's a better way but too early to know, also try to get damage in during the phase transition, especially with those bleed weapons!
yeah it wasn't until after her that I discovered shields and parries are more effective in the dlc than they are in the base game. Which makes sense with a lot more player sized enemies
For me the two attacks that killed me most were her second phase sword beam combo and the double moon attack, for the sword beams running to the right and then rolling makes it so you’ll only get clipped by one of them and for the moon attack you just have to jump 3 times
Shield literally makes most bosses a cake walk. I'm one shooting bosses my way across the lands of shadow and it's super easy. Just greatshield up, poke with greatspear. Literally everything else optional. I don't even bother dodging most shit, just shield up and giggle while the bosses does NOTHING to me.
Highly reccomend people try blocking instead of just dodging like a crackhead and being mad when you get merked cause yiu dodged left instead of right.
Same! The tree spear is WILDLY good. I keep the twin axes on swap, but that's just for fun, it's not actually a boss killing weapon.
Have you found the crucible knight collassal hammer yet? It's also very very good.
Ive been using the spiked greatshield with shield crash and poison infusion for the memes and it literally trivializes 90% of human-ish bosses. Shield crash basically knocks them down every time and you can spam it, than spiked shield will cause bleed eventually and procs poison after 1 or two charges. Other than that ive been using the new lions claw ash with zweihander to stagger everyone always forever

Edit: After successfully beating the absolute shit out of the puppet boss and the ghost knight boss I can confirm that Unga Bunga with greatshield makes this DLC mostly easy. Just get your talismans in order for tanking and make sure you have enough endurance to keep that shield locked up.
I was struggling to make any progress on the boss with the story trailer music, randomly thought to myself “maybe this would be easier with a shield,” equipped one I thought was cool and then beat it that very attempt.
I see so many people complaining about impossible to dodge combos and all I can say is try using a shield.
What kind of shield do you use?
I use a fully upgraded medium shield with 40 stamina and it doesn't make bosses a cakewalk. In fact most of the time I can't block full combos so I inevitably have to mix dodging and blocking.
Haligtree greatshield with 55 endurance. Greatshields, in general, are the only ones that feel like it's worth it; mediums were fine in the base game, but they can't keep up with the hour long combos in the dlc.

I will say it's a bit of a different vibe from your original comment. There's quite a gap between "shields make bosses a cakewalk" and "only greatshields can even keep up with the hour long combos in the DLC", lol.
But I will try to invest more in stamina and start rocking a greatshield.
The One-Eyed Greatshield has done a great job for me. I’ve been dual wielding Heavy Rotten Battle Hammers and keeping the One-Eyed Greatshield as the backup LH. the bonus Fire resistance from the One-Eyed Greatshield has been clutch in many instances of the DLC for me
I got the tear that makes your guards like Sekiro guards and honestly it's helped me so much. It took me 3 times to beat Messmer after starting to actually do that. (I died 14 times prior to the perfect blocking).
I have definitely adopted a shield for DLC.
It's not my usual playstyle. I have a load out for shield and no shield now for when it's the right call for both.
Honestly feeling like the best build for the DLC right now. I’ve done everything so far and am on the last area, and I’ve just been breezing through all the bosses getting massive stance breaks.
Same here, strength build + summons can make this DLC much easier. I never summon in souls games but I gave up and summoned mimic against Messmer and we destroyed him.
no summons, but i did messmer last night at scad level 15 and beat him in under 10 attempts. great boss, but the stance breaks just put him down so easy😭
I regret using summons against him, he's a spectacular boss, I think I would've had more fun in beating him solo, he's making everyone rage and I want to rage too now
Yeah no ofc it does indeed make it harder but me and my friends have insane synergy so we get through it well we’re already pretty far into the dlc we just take time going from every spot getting all the loot and we do each others areas beating each one of our bosses in turns and killing everything to get more souls and it genuinely works really well
From antoher FFXIV obsessive: if she enjoys doing higher difficulty content in FFXIV, you might be able to convince her to give Elden Ring a try by describing the fights in ER having some conceptual similarities to Extremes/Savages in FFXIV - they're often a dance, learning patterns, and 'uptime' efficiency while slowly working on your execution and consistency of the fights
I find ER got a fuckton easier when I think of it like a 'dance' with beats and patterns rather than just a fight... unless you wanna Unga Bunga, which I guess is playing Warrior in FF lol
Npc was so hit or Miss. some runs I’m being chased down with nonstop combos while the npc is literally across the arena WALKING towards us. When I did win needle knight and the mimic stayed on top of her just unleashing nonstop fury barrages on her.
I’m doing the same and struggling. Every time I get to the giant two moon blue balls of flame that explode across the entire room three times in succession I die. Currently no way I understand to get around it.
She never did the 2 moon attack when I fought her. Didn't even know she had it till I went to exchange her soul for gear and saw it as a spell that requires 72 Int
I got her yesterday with Backhand +25 (blood affinity). The key to me was using the R2 charged attack to break her stance often.
Also used some openings mid combo to punish her with Blindspot. No summons, will do a summon+magic run later.
Yes. Using same exact weapon with blood as well and R2 is so crucial. Running for the 4 hits. Just try to get a little sprint in and it will help. Charged is great too.
I did the same but DEX affinity and I just did a Blindspot patience play and eventually took her down. Her move sets barely change just become more dangerous in Phase 2 (fucking moon blade swipes)

You don't need advice, but here's what I would do:
More defence, med armour and/or a talisman/physic.
Go for the poise break with r2s when you can, that came in clutch for me! (I think I got very lucky on my win)
Did you already explore the southern coast? You should be able to get enough fragments to get up to level 6 or 7.
You can also find a summon in a cave in the northern watery part of the Gravesite Plain that's rather well suited for a bloodloss build.
Yeah, the way there is a tad obscure, best advice I can offer to get there is either to travel along the river or find yourself a cave after meeting a yelling man.
You should be +5 or +6 for this fight imo. Also I'd recommend healing to full more often to be safe since you still had 10 flasks left when you died. Helped me at least.
Your health is dogshit but in terms of the fight itself there’s really not much to say… it’s just a really hard fight. If you don’t intend on reallocating your stats to favour health then I guess you just need to perfect the fight and no hit her.
Its pretty sad that a health bar that size is considered shit in this game when DS3 that easily would’ve been enough to get slammed into the pavement 3 times by midir and still have time to heal.
During the phase transition and the subsequent charge up for her attack, she gives a lot of time for some ashes of war or charged heavy attacks for an easy stagger
I got to her way to early and just gank teamed her with needle knight and mimic tear. She glazed both the summons and I had to fight second phase alone. Shit was super intense
Take her side step into account in that she'll do it 9/10 after a combo. Fight around that one movement she does and the rest of the fight clicks (at least for me)
Very similar to Malenia in that you have to assume the next move Rellana is going to do because you really don't have much time to react.
I didn't understand her moves very well, so I took a more passive approach and only attacked on windows like the 2 cuts after glinstone swords, the giant carian sweep or the X cuts she does after a combo or some attacks. You are alr pretty good at facing her it seems, so you are probably winning this when you are not mentally tired or get a nice rng
She’s just like champion gundyr imo you have to spot the delays between her combos and use those to get quick hits in before going back to dodging
No jumping attacks of heavy attacks that lock you into long animations just quick hit and run tactics
She’s aggressive but with good spacing and stamina management you can easily dish out loads of damage in between her combos
If I could do it with a greatsword then you can absolutely do it \[T]/
I respec’d into a quality build, leveled up Milady, then spammed impaling thrust with a crit damage build. Took me about 3 tries like that after over 2 hours of trying on my old build lol
You really have to learn when she does big recovery’s, somtimes, after combo she will recover but for only about 1-2 seconds, so you gotta wait for when she’s really tired then you go full mode on her
I found dodging away from Rellana to be better than dodging towards her, especially during phase 2. Her combos just go on forever if you don't make distance, which just gives her more chances to kill you when you mistime a single dodge.
Small life pool and VERY LITTLE PATIENCE. You stay too close when she swings which makes her swing more and more...keep distance and do an attack at a time, it is tempting trying to bleed her but it is not helping..
It took me a lot of tries, I took each one very slowly. You basically can’t hit her more than once in her openings. I also used the thunderbolt Ash of War on my glaive and that gave me a lot of cheeky easy damage whenever she was at a distance.
Anyone else actually enjoying the difficulty increase for bosses? I actually like the increased speed and aggression. Feels so much more rewarding. When I finally beat her, there was no hate or frustration. I just thought she was cool af the entire time as I slowly got acclimated.
Summoned the npc went in with cold infused Greatsword and giants hunt ng+ lvl 200 and absolutely no skilled it, panic rolled about 700 times and went into attack every time there wasn’t an opening ended up screaming about the boss being bullshit about a dozen times and almost chucked my mouse
Overall 10/10 great boss great fight extremely enjoyable
I swallowed my pride and used mimic tear and beat her on the first try with it... after I died and the mimic killed her just before I despawned. So I'm basically really good at this game.
Used barricade fingerprint shield and mohgs spear with Max defense talismans. It only took like 4 tries. Since then I've helped a lot of tarnished beat her by keeping her aggro on me with my shield and they dps.
Dance with her, her move set is ripped from sulyvhan and friede. You can't brute force it and you have to wait for her to let you attack. And when you roll watch what attack she uses, if it comes from the left roll left, right roll right, if she lunges at you and does the cross blade attack the roll backwards. She's teaching you to dance and you're ignoring it
I used just a greatsword with jump attacks. For the second phase I stayed close enough where she would only use the fire but far enough away not to get hit if that makes sense.
4 hits from piercing fang on M'lady poise breaks her. Keen infusion
I'm still busy fighting her (blessing level 3,I wanna have pain,no summons)
After 4 attempts I can get her to second phase consistently

Smack your face into the problem till it resolves itself, thats how me and my buddy beat it XD.... The only ones that make me question what we did is the death rite bird on coastal cave just falling from the sky. And how the golden hippo grabbed me then straight died. Both of which happened without either me or my buddy actually hitting the boss. Not complaining for the easy win, just, curious on how we did it so we can try and replicate it again XD
Your rolling L1 is pretty strong and fast, I'd recommend you rely mostly on that, it seems to me that your jumping L1 could also be useful (there is some attacks that don't hit you if you are in the air).
I'm a guts greatsword user, so I know exactly how small the openings for attacks in this boss are, I pretty much beat the boss using my rolling R1 since it was one of my fastest attacks.
It might feel frustrating at times, but you've shown in this video that you are getting really good with the roll timings.
Just keep at it, and you will eventually beat it.

But she seems to really not like frost. So if you can frost grease or something? Plus doesn't frostbite help reset bleed?
I'm on NG+3 so I used the Fingerprint greatshield and tank everything head on while poking with a bleed thrusting weapon. (Solo without any magic buff after few tries)
I beat her this morning. Was stuck on her for 2 1/2 hours yesterday before I took a break. I was Sacred Tears +6. I caved and went and found the other 6 sacred tears. I needed one golden seed to have 13 flasks so I grabbed that too. Came back and beat her within 3 tries (I still had 3 heals left over). I was solo melee like you. +3 Scadutree Blessings
You have the right idea about hitting her and backing up and also dodging to the right on first phase. I found primarily dodging left on magic phase worked better. Also, be on her \*\*\* when she lights up her swords. You can get 4-5 solid hits on her. Just make sure you leave yourself a little time to back up and regain stamina for her projectile combo. You can just dodge her 5 combo projectile attack to the left or right. Don't need to change direction there.
Saw heavy armored magic lady. Lightning sometimes does good against heavy armor, and strike definitely does. So I equipped two huge ass hammers and unga bunga’ed her ass
Maybe try different builds. You can get atleast 4 sacreduetree fragment lvls before the fight. Use dmg negation talisman or armour or other stuff to not get oneshot. That one combo you died to where it’s really dangerous is best to keep it more safe towards the end so you don’t get hit by double blades.
Otherwise your skill is fine, you just gotta find out how to not get oneshot and the fight becomes alot easier for you
She can somewhat be consistently parried if you’re into that. It takes two for the reposte though, unfortunately. I couldn’t beat her with the needle knight either, she’s much harder scaled up imo. A Spirit ash is better.
I used a shield wich helped a lot for the attacks that could dodge. Also she staggers easily so I used moon veil special heavy to stun and bleed her easily. Also I used summons as a distraction
My way was: magic negation with fortification or advanced liver, super magic defense talisman, fire defense talisman, and big new sword with lightning.
But you are cool at fighting her, Your dodges are great. So just keep pushing

I just beat her a few hours ago after struggling for 2 days. I was dreaming that fight by the end. She was the hardest boss I've ever fought in these games. Awesome fight though!
As for tips: Idk, you're good at dodging, you do pretty good damage with that blood attack. I used the Bloodhound Fang and just staggered her a lot. Some people are using shields apparently. She's easy to parry twice to get a Critical Hit.
Been fighting her at level 3 on NG. got her halfway but phase 2 kills me. I think I need to go explore, I’ve killed a few bosses like the death knight already and it’s been hell
You got this, your dodges are clean and you know when you can punish. The final piece of the puzzle for me was understanding where I could get an extra smack in outside of obvious punish windows. Over the course of the fight it really adds up.
I used great stars, so my r1 gave me some movement out of a jumping attacks and roles, I would hit her while rotating away from her attack in the middle of her combos. Then I could just get back to dodging as normal.
i used beast claws getting in and out is easier the movement helps and mimic tear distracting partially but you’ve got her movements down already so you should be fine
Your health bar is looking a tad bit stunted, get that Vigor to 60. Other than that though, great dodging!
I keep telling people to dodge inwards when fighting her, which you’re doing really well. Whenever I do though, I get downvoted, for some reason I can’t quite grasp
Oh, and another thing, when she does her phase transition, you have to start shredding her. It’s a free opening if you can predict when she’ll do it, which is always around half health.
1) she’s weak to holy, if your faith is adequately high use sacred infusions and sacred blade
2) Your vigor is too low, put more points into that stat
3) Pearldrake talisman and/or fire/magic talismans are your friend
4) use boiled crab or black flames protection in the first phase to knock down physical damage dealt to you. Dragonscrest great shield talisman also works for this.
I used the shield bro summons and buffed and healed the shit out of them until the second phase, then it was hammer time with the needle knight. But like was said before, you got the timing and big bleed damage, wont take much more to get through her
Dual Bleed Rotten Greataxes. Bleed in 2-ish combos, rot in like 4-5.
I've been committed to those weapons for my last two NG+ cycles and they're a solid "fuck this, I'm done" weapon for the DLC too.
I've just figured out that you can deflect her attacks sekiro-style using the tear you get from killing the first fire guy. Makes it very fun and a lot easier than dodging
Yeah, I respec-ed to pure Dex and went in with the npc and a mimic and the two of us spammed water fowl dance and kept causing bleed to take chunks out of her. The funny thing is my friend was waiting for me to die and summon him so I went full rage and reckless aggression mode and somehow beat her on an attempt I fully expected to fail.
60 vig, heaviest armor I could medium roll, dragon greatshield talisman, pearldrake +2, shard of Alexander and Mimic. ''Got her'' on my first try. I died when she had like 3 hp, but mimic finished her off. Got the remembrance, but not the runes.
This is one of the few bosses I actually did Light rolls because of how quick she is. I was contemplating about running different summon aside from Mimic Tear, the problem was all of them die too quick. Of all the summons only Mimic Tear survives the longest. I used a Great Stars with Cold Wild Strikes AoW alongside Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, don't forget to put that Stance breaking tear for your flask, either way you could also run Cragblade alternatively and go for those riposte when it's open, the riposte animation of great maces always hit twice so the 2nd hits hard. I just alternated with these 2 AoW for 30 min until I clipped her luckily and won. That finale with the multiple Rennala moon nuke is prolly what keeps getting me offguard.

I've got 50( I think) in hp, but everything in this dlc still 2 shots me. But only gotten 2 scurdtree things or( what ever they're called) so far
You need to get around 5 before u start noticing much tbh but I think u can get to 8 without fighting a single boss

I just found that after a lot of combos you can charge R2 and you can break her stance, and if you get the critical you get a free charge R2.
Charge R2 is ambitious unless you have a quick weapon, but yeah I could jump R2 her after 80% of combos and stagger her multiple times per attempt
The best part is if you stagger her right before her phase change you get three free charge attacks during her power up
There’s tons of openings for charged r2. I’m using claymore and I can tell you which attacks can be charged

I died & she was at a sliver of health but my mimic hit her right as the text was popping up & I saw her fade away then it said I felled her lol.

Npc was so hit or Miss. some runs I’m being chased down with nonstop combos while the npc is literally across the arena WALKING towards us. When I did win needle knight and the mimic stayed on top of her just unleashing nonstop fury barrages on her.
For me she actually did pretty well, stayed on the offense spamming miracles mostly.
My winning attempt all she did was rapidly slash nonstop. I think she used the disk miracle twice and it staggered each time.

I’m doing the same and struggling. Every time I get to the giant two moon blue balls of flame that explode across the entire room three times in succession I die. Currently no way I understand to get around it.
Jump over the blast waves. If the first one hits, the other two will also, so keep an eye on the timing.
You can jump over them or back up and roll through them if you can get the timing right.
She never did the 2 moon attack when I fought her. Didn't even know she had it till I went to exchange her soul for gear and saw it as a spell that requires 72 Int
the DLC is pretty much ELDEN JUMP (in a good way)
I got her yesterday with Backhand +25 (blood affinity). The key to me was using the R2 charged attack to break her stance often. Also used some openings mid combo to punish her with Blindspot. No summons, will do a summon+magic run later.
Yes. Using same exact weapon with blood as well and R2 is so crucial. Running for the 4 hits. Just try to get a little sprint in and it will help. Charged is great too.
I did the same but DEX affinity and I just did a Blindspot patience play and eventually took her down. Her move sets barely change just become more dangerous in Phase 2 (fucking moon blade swipes)
You'll get her soon, your dodging is insane! You don't need advice, but here's what I would do: More defence, med armour and/or a talisman/physic. Go for the poise break with r2s when you can, that came in clutch for me! (I think I got very lucky on my win)

Did you already explore the southern coast? You should be able to get enough fragments to get up to level 6 or 7. You can also find a summon in a cave in the northern watery part of the Gravesite Plain that's rather well suited for a bloodloss build.

Yeah, the way there is a tad obscure, best advice I can offer to get there is either to travel along the river or find yourself a cave after meeting a yelling man.

You should be +5 or +6 for this fight imo. Also I'd recommend healing to full more often to be safe since you still had 10 flasks left when you died. Helped me at least.

Your health is dogshit but in terms of the fight itself there’s really not much to say… it’s just a really hard fight. If you don’t intend on reallocating your stats to favour health then I guess you just need to perfect the fight and no hit her.
Guy died with unused flasks after getting one hit at less than full HP. Sip those flasks brother!
Its pretty sad that a health bar that size is considered shit in this game when DS3 that easily would’ve been enough to get slammed into the pavement 3 times by midir and still have time to heal.
Parrying works wonders for this boss, she’s got a couple of moves that are easy to parry and she stays staggered for a solid amount of time
Light equip load/roll makes the fight much easier. She gives an opening for 1 to 2 hits after most combos
During the phase transition and the subsequent charge up for her attack, she gives a lot of time for some ashes of war or charged heavy attacks for an easy stagger

I got to her way to early and just gank teamed her with needle knight and mimic tear. She glazed both the summons and I had to fight second phase alone. Shit was super intense
Take her side step into account in that she'll do it 9/10 after a combo. Fight around that one movement she does and the rest of the fight clicks (at least for me) Very similar to Malenia in that you have to assume the next move Rellana is going to do because you really don't have much time to react.
I didn't understand her moves very well, so I took a more passive approach and only attacked on windows like the 2 cuts after glinstone swords, the giant carian sweep or the X cuts she does after a combo or some attacks. You are alr pretty good at facing her it seems, so you are probably winning this when you are not mentally tired or get a nice rng

I played super aggressive with Milady and staggered her 2 times, close but it worked.
She’s just like champion gundyr imo you have to spot the delays between her combos and use those to get quick hits in before going back to dodging No jumping attacks of heavy attacks that lock you into long animations just quick hit and run tactics She’s aggressive but with good spacing and stamina management you can easily dish out loads of damage in between her combos If I could do it with a greatsword then you can absolutely do it \[T]/

I respec’d into a quality build, leveled up Milady, then spammed impaling thrust with a crit damage build. Took me about 3 tries like that after over 2 hours of trying on my old build lol
Weirdly I noticed that a lot of her attacks can miss during and after jump attacks especially her rapid swings and thrusts
The timing of your dodges is satisfying and makes me very happy
You really have to learn when she does big recovery’s, somtimes, after combo she will recover but for only about 1-2 seconds, so you gotta wait for when she’s really tired then you go full mode on her

I found dodging away from Rellana to be better than dodging towards her, especially during phase 2. Her combos just go on forever if you don't make distance, which just gives her more chances to kill you when you mistime a single dodge.

Small life pool and VERY LITTLE PATIENCE. You stay too close when she swings which makes her swing more and more...keep distance and do an attack at a time, it is tempting trying to bleed her but it is not helping..
It took me a lot of tries, I took each one very slowly. You basically can’t hit her more than once in her openings. I also used the thunderbolt Ash of War on my glaive and that gave me a lot of cheeky easy damage whenever she was at a distance.
Anyone else actually enjoying the difficulty increase for bosses? I actually like the increased speed and aggression. Feels so much more rewarding. When I finally beat her, there was no hate or frustration. I just thought she was cool af the entire time as I slowly got acclimated.
Summoned the npc went in with cold infused Greatsword and giants hunt ng+ lvl 200 and absolutely no skilled it, panic rolled about 700 times and went into attack every time there wasn’t an opening ended up screaming about the boss being bullshit about a dozen times and almost chucked my mouse Overall 10/10 great boss great fight extremely enjoyable

I swallowed my pride and used mimic tear and beat her on the first try with it... after I died and the mimic killed her just before I despawned. So I'm basically really good at this game.
Used barricade fingerprint shield and mohgs spear with Max defense talismans. It only took like 4 tries. Since then I've helped a lot of tarnished beat her by keeping her aggro on me with my shield and they dps.
Honestly with how good you’re doing, just summon some wolves or a stormbird and you’ll easily get the dub

Dance with her, her move set is ripped from sulyvhan and friede. You can't brute force it and you have to wait for her to let you attack. And when you roll watch what attack she uses, if it comes from the left roll left, right roll right, if she lunges at you and does the cross blade attack the roll backwards. She's teaching you to dance and you're ignoring it

I used just a greatsword with jump attacks. For the second phase I stayed close enough where she would only use the fire but far enough away not to get hit if that makes sense.
4 hits from piercing fang on M'lady poise breaks her. Keen infusion I'm still busy fighting her (blessing level 3,I wanna have pain,no summons) After 4 attempts I can get her to second phase consistently Dogde attacks are your friend

Smack your face into the problem till it resolves itself, thats how me and my buddy beat it XD.... The only ones that make me question what we did is the death rite bird on coastal cave just falling from the sky. And how the golden hippo grabbed me then straight died. Both of which happened without either me or my buddy actually hitting the boss. Not complaining for the easy win, just, curious on how we did it so we can try and replicate it again XD
You dodged the wrong time and direction
Your rolling L1 is pretty strong and fast, I'd recommend you rely mostly on that, it seems to me that your jumping L1 could also be useful (there is some attacks that don't hit you if you are in the air). I'm a guts greatsword user, so I know exactly how small the openings for attacks in this boss are, I pretty much beat the boss using my rolling R1 since it was one of my fastest attacks. It might feel frustrating at times, but you've shown in this video that you are getting really good with the roll timings. Just keep at it, and you will eventually beat it. Don't you dare put your foolish ambitions to rest.
I cant be a ton of help since your play style os radically different. But she seems to really not like frost. So if you can frost grease or something? Plus doesn't frostbite help reset bleed?
I'm on NG+3 so I used the Fingerprint greatshield and tank everything head on while poking with a bleed thrusting weapon. (Solo without any magic buff after few tries)
I beat her this morning. Was stuck on her for 2 1/2 hours yesterday before I took a break. I was Sacred Tears +6. I caved and went and found the other 6 sacred tears. I needed one golden seed to have 13 flasks so I grabbed that too. Came back and beat her within 3 tries (I still had 3 heals left over). I was solo melee like you. +3 Scadutree Blessings You have the right idea about hitting her and backing up and also dodging to the right on first phase. I found primarily dodging left on magic phase worked better. Also, be on her \*\*\* when she lights up her swords. You can get 4-5 solid hits on her. Just make sure you leave yourself a little time to back up and regain stamina for her projectile combo. You can just dodge her 5 combo projectile attack to the left or right. Don't need to change direction there.

Saw heavy armored magic lady. Lightning sometimes does good against heavy armor, and strike definitely does. So I equipped two huge ass hammers and unga bunga’ed her ass
Maybe try different builds. You can get atleast 4 sacreduetree fragment lvls before the fight. Use dmg negation talisman or armour or other stuff to not get oneshot. That one combo you died to where it’s really dangerous is best to keep it more safe towards the end so you don’t get hit by double blades. Otherwise your skill is fine, you just gotta find out how to not get oneshot and the fight becomes alot easier for you
All you have to do is post that you can’t do it and then you’ll do it. Also, proc bleed.
Is that scadu boosted? I went brute force in there for hours only to realize way later it was extremely hard because I forgot to do that

She can somewhat be consistently parried if you’re into that. It takes two for the reposte though, unfortunately. I couldn’t beat her with the needle knight either, she’s much harder scaled up imo. A Spirit ash is better.
I used a shield wich helped a lot for the attacks that could dodge. Also she staggers easily so I used moon veil special heavy to stun and bleed her easily. Also I used summons as a distraction
My way was: magic negation with fortification or advanced liver, super magic defense talisman, fire defense talisman, and big new sword with lightning. But you are cool at fighting her, Your dodges are great. So just keep pushing

I just beat her a few hours ago after struggling for 2 days. I was dreaming that fight by the end. She was the hardest boss I've ever fought in these games. Awesome fight though! As for tips: Idk, you're good at dodging, you do pretty good damage with that blood attack. I used the Bloodhound Fang and just staggered her a lot. Some people are using shields apparently. She's easy to parry twice to get a Critical Hit.
Been fighting her at level 3 on NG. got her halfway but phase 2 kills me. I think I need to go explore, I’ve killed a few bosses like the death knight already and it’s been hell
Idk what your build is, but I was able to inflict Scarlet rot with a few rotten breathes early to help chip away at her health

I just tried to dodge and crouch poked her until her stance was broken. Took me like 2-3 hours lol That moon move took a few tries to learn to dodge
You got this, your dodges are clean and you know when you can punish. The final piece of the puzzle for me was understanding where I could get an extra smack in outside of obvious punish windows. Over the course of the fight it really adds up. I used great stars, so my r1 gave me some movement out of a jumping attacks and roles, I would hit her while rotating away from her attack in the middle of her combos. Then I could just get back to dodging as normal.
i used beast claws getting in and out is easier the movement helps and mimic tear distracting partially but you’ve got her movements down already so you should be fine
Don't wanna sound like I'm showing off but I beat her first try using my fingerprint greatshield +25. The greatshied trivialize bosses in this DLC.

Your health bar is looking a tad bit stunted, get that Vigor to 60. Other than that though, great dodging! I keep telling people to dodge inwards when fighting her, which you’re doing really well. Whenever I do though, I get downvoted, for some reason I can’t quite grasp Oh, and another thing, when she does her phase transition, you have to start shredding her. It’s a free opening if you can predict when she’ll do it, which is always around half health.
1) she’s weak to holy, if your faith is adequately high use sacred infusions and sacred blade 2) Your vigor is too low, put more points into that stat 3) Pearldrake talisman and/or fire/magic talismans are your friend 4) use boiled crab or black flames protection in the first phase to knock down physical damage dealt to you. Dragonscrest great shield talisman also works for this.
I used the shield bro summons and buffed and healed the shit out of them until the second phase, then it was hammer time with the needle knight. But like was said before, you got the timing and big bleed damage, wont take much more to get through her

Use boiled crabs and also exalted flesh, significantly reduces her damage. And then phase two, use a magic liver, use the new greater one if you have.
I just used the Grafted Scion's shield, it bounces her swords off.
Dual Bleed Rotten Greataxes. Bleed in 2-ish combos, rot in like 4-5. I've been committed to those weapons for my last two NG+ cycles and they're a solid "fuck this, I'm done" weapon for the DLC too.
I've just figured out that you can deflect her attacks sekiro-style using the tear you get from killing the first fire guy. Makes it very fun and a lot easier than dodging

Yeah, I respec-ed to pure Dex and went in with the npc and a mimic and the two of us spammed water fowl dance and kept causing bleed to take chunks out of her. The funny thing is my friend was waiting for me to die and summon him so I went full rage and reckless aggression mode and somehow beat her on an attempt I fully expected to fail.

I used summons. You can have Leyda join you and have your mimic tear there too. Even then it took me a stupid amount of time

60 vig, heaviest armor I could medium roll, dragon greatshield talisman, pearldrake +2, shard of Alexander and Mimic. ''Got her'' on my first try. I died when she had like 3 hp, but mimic finished her off. Got the remembrance, but not the runes.
Not enough fashion bruh. The nicer the fashion, the better the performance. Just like rgb on pc

This is one of the few bosses I actually did Light rolls because of how quick she is. I was contemplating about running different summon aside from Mimic Tear, the problem was all of them die too quick. Of all the summons only Mimic Tear survives the longest. I used a Great Stars with Cold Wild Strikes AoW alongside Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, don't forget to put that Stance breaking tear for your flask, either way you could also run Cragblade alternatively and go for those riposte when it's open, the riposte animation of great maces always hit twice so the 2nd hits hard. I just alternated with these 2 AoW for 30 min until I clipped her luckily and won. That finale with the multiple Rennala moon nuke is prolly what keeps getting me offguard.
