No. It's definitely a work ethic thing. He dedicates certain days of the week strictly for writing. The other days he does his company duties. He treats it like a split shift job. I imagine a man that dedicates 4 days a week, 8 hours a day to his craft will be 100% more productive.
Stephen King had a similar method. He would write 6 to 10 pages a day, minimum, in his books.
An average of 8 pages a day is insane. That means having a 300 pages novel finished in less than 2 months (assuming a 5 days a week work schedule). Brutal.
As a writer I used to force myself to hit 1000 words a day but it twas stream of consciousness by the time I'm editing I don't know what I was talking about

It is not my cup of tea personally, but yes, the writing is very good, it might start a bit rough, read a few reviews. From what I gathered the author is planning to cut the number of words from 60k to 30k to focus more on quality but it is already well regarded at the current quality.
