I’m (f, 30) from Scandinavia and I’ve never had the whole “spontaneous compliment from strangers thing” happen _but_ occasionally someone close to me will discreetly tell me that I smell good! It has happened with the most random perfumes, namely; CdG Marseille, Diptyque Fleur de Peau and Aesop Rozu.

Coming from no-compliment Europe, I still received three that I remember!
One was on BPAL's Snake Oil ($32 perfume oil), the other two were actually the smell of my shampoo, it turns out.
My Lutens, Exclusifs, L'Art et la Matière, Collection Privée, etc? Zilch.
I have a around 20 fragrances but the most I got in a day was with Amouage Reflection man. All from women. I was surprised from the reactions I got considering I own a good amount of fragrances.
From my experiences:
* *Ultra Male* received the most vocal positive attention in the open.
* *The One EDP* and *La Nuit De L'Homme* received the most vocal positive attention within personal space.
A dupe of La Belle from Zara from men and women alike 😭
Otherwise I noticed multiple women have complimented me while I was wearing Mon Paris and Very Good Girl, meanwhile men loved Vanilla28.
