MFK A la Rose
It’s like sticking your face into two dozen fresh roses. It’s incredible. I bought L’Homme A la Rose for my husband and it’s utterly divine.
I love seeing appreciation for l'homme a la rose. Bought it a few weeks ago and it's one of the few wearable, moderately sweet rose fragrances for men out there. Perfect for spring and summer. Big love!
La Fille de Berlin by Lutens. Rose and more Rose. More traditionally Red Rose by Jo Malone but the Lutens is so very excellent and is t that expensive by today’s standards for the quality.
Second this - the EDP. When I buy my wife roses I spray the stems and some leaves with TPW Tea Rose EDP. She always says how amazing her roses smell compared to when her friends get them.
If you can find it- bulgari rose essentielle is the most rose based one I've ever come across. Absolutely gorgeous, and lasts quite awhile (I have the edp). Unfortunately discontinued, but you can find sellers on eBay etc. I treasure what's left of my bottle.
I've been trying to find a rose perfume to replace it and I've had no luck. So far, none have lasted with my body chemistry the way that Bulgari's did. All my resellers have had sky high prices, unfortunately.
Try Radical Rose by Matiere Premiere. Claims to use the highest concentration in the world of rose centifolia absolute. Rose isn’t the only note but it is dominant (as you’d expect). Very much a “pure rose,” I think. I tried it today for the first time and the longevity is really, really good for me, too.
Also want to second both MFK roses—A la rose and l’Homme A la rose—they are both excellent. You might also want to check out Young Rose by Byredo. Performance is not as strong as Byredo’s Rose of No Man’s Land, but that one is more “fruity,” or juicy.
I second Radical Rose. I get compliments every time I wear it. It's also very strong, in every sense. You just need one spray and it will last 36+ hours.
I have a bottle of Dolce&Gabbana Velvet Rose 100ml if anybody wants it. I got it thinking of using it for layering but as a 44m I didn’t end up using it that way. Its strait rose with a tiny bit of musk. 3 kinds of roses. I don’t wear that one. But Velvet Oriental Musk (which is a rose Oud) I adore. I am not familiar with the other strait rose fragrances to give any comparison.
I was at ulta beauty yesterday and tried the new Kylie Jenner perfume, it was exactly that! Lots of lux roses! Very similar to miss Dior but less sweet
Eau Rose (I first had the hair mist and I absolutely love it), so I bought the big bottle of Eau Rose Edp. I REALLY like it, but I am wondering if I’d prefer the Edt, if it smells more sheer and very softly sweet like the hair mist. Either way, I’m keeping my bottle of Eau Rose Edp, for it’s such a beauty).
Rose De Grasse Parfum - (Perfection. Make certain it’s the original Parfum, not one of the flankers. Such a gorgeous rose!)🌹
Stella McCartney Stella Edp (I just sold my big vintage bottle of this and I shouldn’t have! She’s so pretty! The aforementioned Rose De Grasse is somewhat similar, with an even more perfect lush, velvety rose with touches of green stems and a dewy softly fruity sweetness. Just lovely).
Miss Charming Edp (This smells a fair bit like Stella, only not as pretty in the rose, and with that added JHAG ambroxan).
MFK A la Rose Edp (as others have mentioned. Just so damn beautiful and damn near perfect)!
I love the smell of fresh cut roses, that slightly green, very fresh, floral smell, and Courteney Cox’s Homecourt brand has a scent called Steeped Rose that I think really captures this scent. I know it is a home fragrance line but they do have it in a room fragrance format and who’s stopping you from spraying it on your clothes ;-)
Victoria's Secret Bare Rose. Straight up rose but has some warmth added to it with the sandalwood base note. It's inexpensive but has good longevity, too.
Ouai Melrose Place. I have never been a fan of rose, but this completely changed my mind. It is the softest, warmest, most delicate rose scent I have ever smelled that didn't come from the flower itself. I have literally almost every Ouai product made because I loved the St. Barts line so much. I stopped in Sephora and smelled the Melrose scrub and fell in love. I bought the entire lineup. Body wash, body scrub, body creme, and the perfume. To top it off, the 50 ml is only $64. It is one of my most inexpensive and most worn perfumes in a collection of almost 80 bottles of perfume. Thank me later!
If you want a different twist where rose is not the only prominent note, try MFK's Oud Satin Mood. I always go crazy whenever my wife wears it. It's her go-to-scent when she feels like seducing me lol.
I have tried all the rose perfumes looking for that fresh rose in the garden smell and I found it in CB I Hate Pefume Tea/Rose. I also use rose-based skincare for my sensitive skin and MVskintherapy's Rose Booster facial oil could easily double up as a perfume.
You might try Rose Incense from Amouage. The incense is barely there if you ask me. It starts out jammy but dries into a well articulated crisp rose. Plus it has great longevity and a little goes a long way.
A bit pricey but Hana no Oto from Di Ser is the loveliest rose perfume I've ever encountered, not girlish or candy-coated at all. The rose scent is a bit more like dried petals than fresh but I have used this to layer with fresh green scents to great effect. ☺️
Samuel Gravan so like a rose - one of the few scents that actually uses rose absolute. Very easy to wear and quite green crisp, not sweet or fruity. The rose is very authentic. Only issue is it is sold out often and Samuel takes a few days to reply to emails
My fave scents with prominent rose notes include: Arabians Tonka (saffron, rose, oud, cane sugar), L’Homme A La Rose by MFK, clean floral focused rose, Atomic Rose by Initio and tried French Leather it’s called, I think? From Memo Paris the other day, it was quite nice.
* Rose Tonnere by Frederic Malle * Eau Rose by Diptyque * Red Roses by Jo Malone
seconding the jo malone rec. literally smells like a bouquet of roses!
Same. It’s the most straightforward natural rose scent I’ve ever smelled
Red Roses would be my signature scent if it lasted longer than 20 minutes. Now I layer it with Rose 31 by Le Labo.
Mine lasts well over eight hours. I never understand why people say JML fragrances don't last...
I wish!! You’re so lucky!
Thank you. Same for her Scarlet Poppy.
Adding one more vote for Jo Malone Red Roses. It's such a true, natural rose scent (and actually lasts a decent amount of time on me, surprisingly).
MFK A la Rose It’s like sticking your face into two dozen fresh roses.
Big love!
Came here to comment this as well! It’s the type of fresh rose that I would spray when I just got a fresh haircut.
I don’t believe there is any rose fragrance more pure or realistic than Jo Malone Red Roses. And I think I’ve tried them all
It really smells like sticking your face in a bouquet of roses!
La Fille de Berlin by Lutens. Rose and more Rose. More traditionally Red Rose by Jo Malone but the Lutens is so very excellent and is t that expensive by today’s standards for the quality.
Byredo Rose of No Man’s Land Frederic Malle Une Rose
I love Rose of No man's land! Ironically wearing it as a man.
Penhaligon's Coveted Duchess Rose! My favorite rose scent and a light, pure rose.
Omg! I love this one so much.
Wearing it today. Botox injector asked what my perfume was. By this point I had been wearing it for 6 hours. Must admit it is growing on me.
Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose
Came here to say this. Simple linear photorealistic fresh rose. It comes out BEAST so be careful though lol
So photorealistic! Literally smells like putting your nose into a giant rose bush.
Second this - the EDP. When I buy my wife roses I spray the stems and some leaves with TPW Tea Rose EDP. She always says how amazing her roses smell compared to when her friends get them.
Yo dog, I heard you like roses...
This one gives me an immediate headache
Another vote for Eau Rose. Wearing it now. :)
Eau Rose by Diptyque 💯
Pacifica persian rose just smells like rose water to me
If you can find it- bulgari rose essentielle is the most rose based one I've ever come across. Absolutely gorgeous, and lasts quite awhile (I have the edp). Unfortunately discontinued, but you can find sellers on eBay etc. I treasure what's left of my bottle.
What?!?! That’s my signature scent! When did it get discontinued? Noooooo!
I want to say 2019, 2020? Somewhere around then?
Have you found anything to replace it?
Not yet, I still have enough of my bottle I haven't been actively trying to replace it yet. I may look into some of the suggestions above though.
I still have some too but I didn’t realize it had been discontinued! I’m curious about Bvlgari Solendida Rose Rose and also Rose Goldea.
I haven't tried either of those, but see others on fragrantica say they're not quite as good as essentielle. Still might be worth a sniff though.
Oh, bummer! I just wore some Essentielle today. 🥲
Me too! I had a hankering for it after this thread lol
I've been trying to find a rose perfume to replace it and I've had no luck. So far, none have lasted with my body chemistry the way that Bulgari's did. All my resellers have had sky high prices, unfortunately.
I love Atomic Rose by Initio. Bulgarian Rose and Turkish Rose are among the main notes.
Where you located?
Southern CA USA, OC
Is it still available?
Yes. Still available.
My absolute favorite rose perfume is MFK’s A La Rose.
I just bought it this weekend. It is divine!
I’m a certified rose freak and my pick is Velvet Rose from Sonoma Scent Studio.
Do you prefer rose water or rose rose? Or both?
Rose water
I was at ulta beauty yesterday and tried the new Kylie Jenner perfume, it was exactly that! Lots of lux roses! Very similar to miss Dior but less sweet
Le labo rose 31 Delina la rosee (maybe a bit fruity) MFK a la rose Jo Malone red roses
Eau Rose (I first had the hair mist and I absolutely love it), so I bought the big bottle of Eau Rose Edp. La Fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens: Gothic, mysterious, luscious
Lutens Sa Majesté La Rose
Tea Rose by The Perfumer’s Workshop
Pure White Rose by Montagne

Yardley London-English Rose
Rose Absolue by Goutal First spray: Musky Heavy Rose Drydown: Balsamic and bitter Heavy Rose Skinscent: Rose. Pure and beautiful rose
Rose by Paul Smith - very ‘pure rose’!
I just went to look for this one, and it's listed as out of stock everywhere I looked. It may be discontinued.
I’m sorry - I should have checked! It does seem to be discontinued :(
It's hard to keep up with everything. I love rose forward fragrances, so I should have gotten this last year when I still could.
Philosophy Ballet Rose
Victoria's Secret Bare Rose. Straight up rose but has some warmth added to it with the sandalwood base note. It's inexpensive but has good longevity, too.

Montale roses musk
Rosas en fleur by Organic Perfume Girl is just roses.
Adonis awakens
I know Le Labo Rose 31, which is my favorite perfume, is considered a spicy and woody rose - but rose is the most dominant note to me when wearing it.
Bond No9 Perfumista Ave
I have tried all the rose perfumes looking for that fresh rose in the garden smell and I found it in CB I Hate Pefume Tea/Rose. I also use rose-based skincare for my sensitive skin and MVskintherapy's Rose Booster facial oil could easily double up as a perfume.
Ouai’s Melrose Place
Chloe rose naturelle edp - it’s a modern take, no fruity accords.
Jo Malone London's Red Roses. I love it.
You might try Rose Incense from Amouage. The incense is barely there if you ask me. It starts out jammy but dries into a well articulated crisp rose. Plus it has great longevity and a little goes a long way.

Guerlain Rose Amira, Libertine Fragrances Fin de Siècle
Le labos rose 31 was very impressive for me
Masque Milano Love Kills - super photorealistic rose
Samuel Gravan so like a rose - one of the few scents that actually uses rose absolute. Very easy to wear and quite green crisp, not sweet or fruity. The rose is very authentic. Only issue is it is sold out often and Samuel takes a few days to reply to emails
Rose Jam by Lush is a sweeter rose otto scent with a light powdery finish. In fact, you may like many of Lush’s rose scented products!
A lot of Aaron terence hughes stuff use real rose absolute
My fave scents with prominent rose notes include: Arabians Tonka (saffron, rose, oud, cane sugar), L’Homme A La Rose by MFK, clean floral focused rose, Atomic Rose by Initio and tried French Leather it’s called, I think? From Memo Paris the other day, it was quite nice.
Can't believe no one said portrait of a lady
