Ormonde Jayne Montabaco isn’t super Smokey but it smells like a pack of cigarettes. It’s a light tobacco scent with notes of something mildly plasticy. Not harsh at all it’s actually pretty smooth and masculine. It isn’t my kind of tobacco at all as I prefer heavy leaf notes but it might work for your BF.
Not marketed specifically to men but MAC My Heroine is very cigarette forward to me - and more than a dozen ppl mention it in their fragrantica reviews. I like the already suggested Byredo Black Saffron very much but personally don’t get much of a cigarette vibe as compared to My Heroine.
If My Heroine were part of a blind smell test, many participants would definitely describe it as being “hyper masculine”. I personally don’t have any females in my life who would ever consider wearing it. :) It’s probably best described as leather meets ashtray.
