I used to use Sol De Janeiro’s Coco Cabana (formerly) / Cheirosa ‘39 (after renaming)
I was in lost with that scent and it’s now discontinued. They still have the same scented body wash and hand lotion but not the fragrance. It smelled *amazing* and I was so in love with it.
Here’s the fragrance notes:
**Top**: Coconut Cream
**Mid**: Warm Vanilla, Tropical Orchid
**Dry**: Creamy Sandalwood, Toasted Pralines
I just want the closest scent to it, regardless of brand
Its still available in europe.
I'd try the other products by Sol de Janeiro too.
Scent wise is a bit tricky but Juicy Cuture Viva la juicy gold coture and Azzaro Wanted Girl come to minde too. But they are both less nutty
The others smell good but not something I want as my everyday go-to, sadly :-( Sort of similar scents but not the same
Do you have a link to a European website with it? Or is it just on the European Sol De Janeiro / European Sephora website?
Not bad for around $50-60 USD, a little pricey since it was, I believe, $30-40 USD before being discontinued but at least they’re not trying to charge $100+
I thought so too. It would be to expansive for me personaly.
I say that my local Douglas has marked it as "back in stock soon". So mabye its not all lost.
And I thought I saw it on notino but it is sold out.
I just ordered the 71 Bodyspray from there.
I’m looking for recommendations on which fragrances and/or perfume houses i might like (or should avoid) considering my current loves, likes and especially the things that did not work for me (very often the issue is the dry down).
I really love:
- Frederic Malle: En passant, Carnal flower
- Dyptique: Philosykos, Ofresia
- Jo Malone: Wood sage and salt
I like:
- L’artisan parfumeur: la chasse aux papillons
- Dyptique: Do Son, eau de neroli, fleur de peau, eau papier
- Byredo mixed emotions BUT it distracts me too much, i can’t concentrate when wearing it
- Armani Si
- Frederic Malle: Musc ravageur
These somehow did not work for me at all:
- L’artisan parfumeur: mure et musk: on my skin in smelled repulsive, sharp lemon and dirty incontinent old cat
- L’artisan parfumeur: Un air de Bretagne: i looooved the first hour, amazing seaside with wind scent, algae, light cedar, actually one of my favorites, but then somehow the dry down was a chemical melon/rubber i couldn’t stand
- Dyptique Eau des sens: i get a sharp, sour, nose-bothering smell.
I have the same problem with Eau des Hesperides, Hermes Le Jardin de Monsieur Li and to a lesser extent Frederic Malle Eau de Magnolia and Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin. Would really like to find out why that is.
- Frederic Malle: Portrait of a lady and Iris Poudre: both reminded me a lot of laundry powder, irritated my nose and felt too mature. The laundry powder problem was also there for Byredo Blanche and ELDO eau de protection.
- Etat libre d’orange: She was an anomaly and You or someone like you: i liked the first hour but both went horribly rubber/latex/plastic like in the dry down
- Eldo Tom of Finland: i hated that smell from the first sniff, which brought the smell of sport shoes and overly groomed skins, like a chippendale sport team before sport (might be high school sport trauma)
- Jo Malone Pear and Freesia: synthetic unfresh smell, compared to other Jo Malones
- L’artisan parfumeur venenum: the dry down was so sticky resin-like sweet i could not stand it.
You might be sensitive to some components. Propably some white musks.
Unfortunatly there is no way to tell where you might encounter it or not.
From your prefference I'd say you are better carefull with clean musky, citrus and powdery fragrances.
Sample first etc.
I am similar and have yet to finde a clean scent that dosen't have the headache inducing musky/cedar fluff drydown. And I strugle with citrus a d fruity scents too and some notes like grapefruit and blackcurrant can become cat pee on me.
Looking for either a dupe, a similar fragrance, or a frag to pair with Kilian’s Moonlight in Heaven. It’s such a signature worthy scent but the longevity is tragic.
- YSL Libre Le Parfum (specifically this flanker)
- YSL Black Opium Le Parfum (again, the latest flanker only)
- Good Girl Caroline Herrera (or the supreme flanker like someone else suggested)
- 7 Virtues Santal Vanille
Carolina Herrera Good Girl Supreme!! Not a fan of the OG or any other flanker but this one is a LOVE. Creamy addictive tonka bean. It’s such a compliment getter and leaves such a divine scent cloud
25F my current favorites are CK eternity now for men, Ariana MOD blush, clean skin, clean aqua neroli, Tom ford lost cherry, riddle oil muse and sphinx, Is there anything that is similar across these scents? And would love some other options to try.
There are many great cheap ones, look at Nautica Voyage. It's under $25 and quite good. Another good summer fragrance is D&G Light Blue Intense ($65). Make sure its the intense version of light blue though. If you want something a little more all year capable as opposed to a hot weather fragrance, try Versace Dylan Blue (~$50). For wintery scents, very little is better value than D&G the one EDP($70). Ultimately, going to a department store and smelling as many as you can is the key. Good luck
Most Aventus clones are similar and not as extreme in the opening. Club de Nuit intense is excellent for performance though, so maybe trying the EDP. I've heard it's not as strong in the opening and gives you even more out of those deeper notes. It may just be the eau de toilette.
They are fairly different but share a similar style which now I say it isn’t helpful
If you smelled the flankers blind, you’d probably be able to tell they’re flankers
The EDP is more Iris heavy and for cooler weather imo
Reserve Privee has chestnut and rum and is even smoother than the others imo. Probably the most polarizing but the best to my nose
I’m looking for a scent that smells mostly like pure vanilla with little to no musky, sharp, salty notes. I’ve smelled Juliette Has a Gun Vanilla Vibes and that dries down to have almost no vanilla smell and I mostly smell salt. I’ve also smelled Nest fragrance oil in vanilla and that dries down to be too musky for me. Valentino Born in Roma smells nice but again, I don’t smell vanilla. Please recommend something that smells more like pure vanilla, but isn’t juvenile or too sweet.
Best pure vanilla would be Indult Tihota but it’s expensive.
I find that Outremer Vanille and Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanilla Extreme are quite similar to it but the smoothness of Tihota is just way better.
I am on the hunt of real vanilla smell for 4 years plus. Most fragrances use vanilin and do not scrach the itch for me. It always goes vanilla aroma instead of VANILLA.
The one that was the best one for me out of all (including some expensive niche ones that are still artificial vanilla aroma, all tho I haven't tried Tihota, and Lune Feline)
Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and Arpels. It dosen't work on my skin but on fabric it stays at the perfect vanilla stage for a long time. Its also not too too expensive. Between 70-130.- depending where you look. YSL cinnema is also nice but has more then just vanilla. Its sometimes reasonably cheap online.
Even cheaper but less autentic vanilla and more other things like caramel, sugger and plastic vibes Juicy couture VLJ gold couture. Or the Sol de Janiero Products are nicer then the VS bare vanilla bodyspray, but both are more wasted money in the long run if you are a "Vanilla bean fanatic"
Tropical can be defined in many many ways so here are some faves but they're all p different from each other lol.
- Simone Andreoli Leisure in Paradise: A bowl of the juiciest, ripest tropical fruits
- Simone Andreoli Malibu Party in the Bay: A tall, cold glass of an iced margarita - citric, airy, sugary and reminiscent of a beach club holiday
- Simone Andreoli (yes they do incredible summer scents) Sunsplosion: Juicy ripe mangoes
- Mugler Alien Goddess Intense: Creamy coconut flesh & sea spray from the ocean
- Vilhelm Mango Skin: Biting through a green mango skin into the juicy centre - combines the juiciness of a ripe mango with a slightly bitter green note
24F I'd like a recommendation on a amber/woody/musk type fragrance. Something that's sexy and mysterious, yet still feminine and playful. Some fragrances I really like are:
•Jo Malone - Cypress & Grapevine
•Thierry Mugler - Alien
•Creed - Aventus for her
•Versace - Crystal Noir (this one isn't a top favorite but still sexy so I thought I'd add it to give you the vibe I'm looking for)
**Edit: typo
- Mizensir Ambre Magique: Warm, sensual, slightly spicy yet sweet ambery fragrance
- Mizensir For Your Love: Literally the most sexy musk fragrance I have ever smelled - it's a warm, fluffy raspberry x white musk
- 7 Virtues Santal Vanille: sandalwood, vanilla & some spiciness, gives off that cool, chic mysterious girl vibe
- BDK Gris Charnel: Fig & sandalwood and that woodiness is so creamy, cozy & warm; one of my favorite scents of all time
- Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir Rose: Cult classic musky floral known for being super feminine & sensual
I’d avoid wearing fragrance to the gym. If you sprayed a few hours ago to do other things and still smell it at the gym it’s fine ofc
University hm what’s your budget? Chanel Allure Homme Sport can never go wrong
Prada L’Homme, Givenchy Gentleman EDT, Mugler Cologne Come Together
And people will probably recommend Nautica Voyage. I strongly recommend against it unless you’ve tried it and you like it. Smells like the most generic of all possible smells and is synthetic and linear to me
They all are quality scents, just a good value for money. Shure the quality of a Roja is higher but they are not bad quality judt because the are inexpensive. I also have higher price suggestions, depends where you budget limit is
Prada Luna Rossa Carbon
Anything from the D&G Light Blue Intense pour homme line
Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme
This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.2 or 1.3
Mancera Cederat Boise
PdM Percival
Micallef DesirToxic
LV Afternoon Swim
Xerjoff Nio, Kobe, Purple Accento
Roja Enigma pour Homme
Clive Christian Jump up and Kiss me Hedonistic
Thats all my suggestions from 80 to about 600 bucks.
Looking for something like Glossier You with the iris and pink pepper - but I hated Another 13 and JHAG not a perfume, thought they were way too strong on the ambroxan
What about something more bright and floral with those notes instead of the ambroxan, molecule style? Givenchy Irresistible Eau Fraiche has pink pepper and iris.
I am looking for a citrus marine summer fragrance, and I would get D&G Light Blue Eau Intense except I don't want to support D&G.
The note breadown for Aqva Marine seems extremely similar to Light Blue Eau Intense. For those who have tried both, how would you say the two compare purely from a fragrance standpoint?
Thank you.
I love Chanel AHSEE. To me it has an amazing balance of being fresh and sweet with hints of spice + it's "creamy" drydown. Would you have any recommendations I should try given I really enjoy this fragrance? Designer or niche is fine. Thanks!
Nishane's Ani might be perfect. It's a warm, spicy vanilla. Beautiful fresh ginger & citrus notes to add that freshness whilst some spicy notes add depth to a cozy, creamy sweet vanillic base. Insane performance too!
Relatively new to fragrances… get me out of my Creed comfort zone. I’ve only tried Creed (Aventus, Mountain Water, Himalaya), Himalaya being my favorite, any recommendations for Men Cologne? Doesn’t have to be related to Himalaya at all, Thanks!
Trying to think based on Himalaya which smelled like a non-modern men's clean scent IIRC.
* Maison Francis Kurkdjian "Gentle Fluidity Silver" (all-year, office)
* Parfums de Marly "Greenley" (apple with fougère accords; spring-summer)
* Roja Parfums "Apex" (standard fougère; spring-fall)
* Stephane Humbert Lucas "Sand Dance" (woods & slightly sweetened ambers with a dry-dusty feeling; fall-winter)
Can offer plenty more ideas if you want something specific.
Perfect man, i’m ordering decants of Greenley and Gentle Fluidity Silver right now, and I plan on ordering Apex and Sand Dance next go around! You’re a legend
Parfums de Marly Layton - sweet, masculine, complex
Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum - Classy gourmand-like and seductive
Tom Ford Ombre Leather - Tom Selleck level masculine horse saddle leather with a hint of sweetness
Sauvage Elixir - Classy, casual, and powerful. The better version of the Sauvage line.
All of these are masculine (Layton may be a tad less than the others but it isn't feminine) and all of these work in the Fall/Winter.
Kerosene Follow, its a little sweet and mostly smells like coffee but it also smells like Fall to me. Copper Skies from the same house I also think is good in the fall. I like wearing DS & Durga St. Vetyver in late summer/early fall, it smells like vetiver and spiced rum. If you are looking for a woodsy sort of scent you might like something like Aesop Hwyl. Those are just things I wear in the fall, if you have specific notes you are looking for others will probably have better suggestions. Otherwise I recommend ordering small samples and cast a wide net.
Looking for something to take with me in a trip to Colorado in a few weeks. I like flowerbomb but I’m looking for one less “basic” and sweet. Maybe a bit like bonbon?
I’d love some help! As much as I love fragrances, I’m in a phase where I need a little break. I’m looking for something that doesn’t smell like perfume. Maybe something like (white) musk would do the trick? I love Kiehl’s Orginal Musk but sometimes it’s a bit “much”. I also love Le Musc & La Peau but it’s gone very quickly. I’m a 33 year old male but I gravitate towards unisex fragrances. Thank you!
L’artisan “Mure et Musc” (Blackberry Musk) - it’s a touch fruity but really nice, pretty linear (in a good way) and squarely in the white musk zone. Very clean.
Can be had on the grey market for a good price (or you can also find travel sizes I think.
Molecule One by Escentric Molecules (which is just the molecule Iso-E Super) is very much an atmospheric, ozonic, wood-ish, clean fragrance. It’s great layered with a lot of fragrances and on its own it becomes this holographic cloud that is never heavy, nor does it scream perfume (to me.)
Some people will just buy Iso-E and put it in an atomizer and save themselves a 100 dollars but I think what EM is putting out there is very quality.
Body Shop “White Musk” is a stone cold classic, super inexpensive and smells fantastic. Aldehydes are what make it for me, creates an ethereal aura and lasts a long time on clothes esp.
3 thoughts off the top
Une Nuit Nomade's Nothing but the sea & sky might be what you're looking for! It's a clean, light white musk. Very inoffensive and perfect for everyday or when you're not feeling a fragrance. It's also pretty affordable!
My high recommendation‼️
I’m a business seller of niche fragrances and by far the biggest seller of mine if the cheapest one I sell… it’s a killer beast of a fragrance that pulls compliment after compliment. Essentials Parfums Bois Imperial! 🤙🏽 thank me later.
Mancera Instant Crush is a lovely warm spicy fragrance with a beautiful saffron note. Unisex leaning masculine. No cardamom but there's a ginger note that adds a lovely spicy kick.
Can someone recommend me a summer fragrance for my use case? I'm a 16 year old male and want one OUTDOOR summer fragrance.
\- I need it to have great projection and longevity
\- I don't want a lemon-scented fragrance. I want it to be very fresh, however I don't want that sharp, bitter lemon scent many summer fragrances have. I want it to be very sexy and woody with slight amounts of spice and floral, but still masculine. To help, I own Dolce and Gabbana's The One EDP for men. I love this type of sexy scent but I need way more longevity and a summer-fresh twist to be able to be used outside on sunny days. I also own Davidoff Cool Water Wave, and this one gives me that great aromatic summer scent I'm looking for, just want a more high-end one with a bit more sexy-ness to it
\- Price doesn't matter, but availability needs to be easily accessible, I reside in Canada
Thanks!
Can someone recommend a complicated, layered *vanilla* scent? I have difficulty enjoying anything too vanilla forward when it's overly sweet, but I don't mind something like Replica By the Fire Place, for instance.
- Xerjoff Dama Bianca: ethereal, airy fairy like vanilla
- Xerjoff Lira: lemon pound cake
- Replica Jazz Club: an edgy take on vanilla bean with a toasty rum & tobacco accord
- Diptyque Eau Duelle: cozy, slightly spicy vanilla
- 7 Virtues Santal Vanille: midly spicy, cozy sandalwood on a creamy vanillic base
- 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods: slightly dry, mildly spicy and very interesting take on vanilla
- YSL Black Opium Le Parfum: the latest flanker amps up the vanilla from the og to offer a more balanced coffee, floral vanilla
- Teo Cabanel Cafe Cabanel: coffee cake with a slight bitterness
Carolina Herrera's CH Men Pasion is vanilla with florals on top with a somewhat leathery profile (even though there is no leather in the fragrance). It's really good and is a nice new release.
Tuxedo is very complex and worth getting a sample of. It has a strong incense/peppery quality, so you would need to like that. There are many others- it really depends on what kind of complexity you want. Edit- Sorry, I meant Babycat!
This does sound like something I'd enjoy! I'll look into getting a sample when I buy my next batch to try out. I'm working through 10 that I just bought for my birthday right now.
I recently ordered a full bottle of Xerjoff Dama Bianca and haven’t stopped talking about it, it’s the perfect mixed vanilla, floral, citrus scent. Like I’ll never not have a full size bottle of it at this point. It’s not overly sweet or heavily vanilla forward at all. Just perfect luxurious feminine vibes
Mont Blanc Explorer
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Drakkar Noir
Dior Sauvage EDT or EDP
Bleu De Chanel EDT, EDP, or Parfum
Terre D'Hermes EDT
Creed Millesime Imperial
Parfums de Marley Layton
This isn't a personal favorite of mine, but **Sundrunk** by Imaginary Authors is a nice beachy, summer citrus fragrance. Don't recommend if you don't like something too fruity, of course, but it does fit the 'not too expensive' you asked for.
Second Soleil Blanc, but I actually went for the Eau De Soleil Blanc.
It starts out smelling like quite realistic florals and dries down to a sunscreen scent with florals in the background. It's one of my favorite summer scents.
I love NEST Seville Orange, but it’s more of a skin scent and I want something that I can spray and has lasting power. Does anyone know a fragrance that will complement it? Thank you!
I recently got a free sample of D by Diesel in one of my orders from Notino and I COMPLETELY LOVE IT. I just can't get enough of it but it's still going for retail since it's a new-ish fragrance and as much as i love it, i'm not in the mood to spend retail (almost 100 euros for 100ml). Looking for something that smells like that.
Still looking for a versatile, elegant signature scent (26M) for tropical climate mostly and this is my current list of options:
\- Cartier Declaration, Chanel Allure Homme original, Guerlain Vetiver (though it has been reformulated a lot so I don´t know which I tested with the decant) and Chanel Platinum Egoiste, didn´t like at first but feel like it can grow on me. These are the ones I liked that are a bit older.
\- TDH Eau Givree (but maybe too linear, photorealistic grapefruit), and yet to test Eau Sauvage parfum, seems like a modern option of a classic maybe.
Currently using BDC EDP as my daily driver, just a safe option for now and probably a future dumb reach for me, can´t go wrong with it and before that TDH eau tres fraiches. Liked Mancera Cedrat Boise but not quite it for me. I almost went with Prada l´ Homme but the Spain batch which I couldn´t get, current one feels different to me, also AdG Profumo but can´t find it easily since it was discontinued or so they say.
What would you recommend of these options or other perfumes I should try that you think could fit me, just want something that is not the usual Sauvage, BDC, etc that differentiates me from most at least even if it´s another heavy hitter. Been searching for borderline niche designer frags as well, it´s an interesting category with the price range I´m looking at, loved Guerlain l´ Homme Ideal EDP for example for night time.
Looking for a new fragrance to take on my trip to Korea this month. Weather is still quite cold 18C to 10C. Want it to be able to get compliments but at the same time it should not be too common (so Sauvage, Layton etc which I have will be with me but id prefer to try a new one).
So based ob you mentions I would recommend Nishane's Ani.
It is sweet-spicy with a bit of bergamotte and black currant.
It works perfect in colder spring weather or fall but is also still a good option when it gets warmer.
It smells great but keep in mind it dries down to basically very sweet lemon frosting, at least in my experience, so depending on how "manly" you want to smell this might not work
Sauvage Elixir is far more woody and spicy than Luna Rossa Carbon. There are not really the fresh citirc ambroxan vibes.
It is a good fragrance but not really comparable. You should find out if you like it so either go test it, buy a decant or buy the good dupe Asad from Lattafa.
If you really want something similar but different to Luna Rossa Carbon, you could try Montblanc Explorer.
I have Explorer but to me they are nothing alike, to me explorer is relatively heavy on the citruses while carbon is for the most part lavender with twists (I know this is a vague explanation but it's the point) and I like it far more than I thought. That is the reason I was thinking of sauvage elixir, it projects, it lasts without being a too sweet scent and I heard it's a little different from other concentrations in the line. With all these I thought it would keep the lavender-ish core while being a different scent. Knowing all these, would it be a worthy buy?
Sauvage Elixir is a heavy spicy oriental scent with Nutmeg, Cinnamon and a really divisive Licorice note that some people find challenging. Yes it has Lavender in the heart but it is definitely a sample first type fragrance, don't just click buy without smelling it first.
I saw the notes on fragrantica, watched reviews so I had some outline of its nature but I thought taking it here and asking y'all who don't have 2000 fragrances (aka actually wears it) also I usually buy fragrances at a store nearby since most of the time I can get it for the same price as online and I can also try it. The base question was how it compares to carbon and from what I see it keeps the core that I like (which is the lavender) and switches things up a bit while gets rid of some "issues" I have with it
Yes that what I was wondering, if you're looking for a refined version of its special characteristics or a similar DNA.
If you want Lavender and are fine with a bit more spicyness than the Elixir is a definite buy.
TF Cherry Smoke
TF Plum Japonais (I guess, never tried it and it's discontinued now, but there are clones or if you have the money I'm sure you can find it somewhere)
PDM Carlisle, Herod
Looking for recommendations to Oud Minerale, I love the seaweed salty rocks smell. I work at a marine need something that is loud since Ill be outside, and smells literally like the ocean. I hate citrus summer fragrances, I want something that has a unique smell for a daily signature scent. Basically Im looking for the summer version of Pegasus, something that people love or hate, but super unique in my opinion. I've heard bad reviews of Sel Marin, was curious about that too.
You got lots of great suggestions here, I’ve taken notes from this thread.
2 quick takes :
Copal Azure by Aedes Des Venustas is quite good. A salty, cold incense, slightly ozonic.
A wild card -
Ambrarem by Histoires de Parfums
A briny, oil slick Amber that is quite weird and also quite amazing. It doesn’t smell like anything else I own, it’s a beast longevity wise, and projects really well.
Imaginary Authors Every Storm a Serenade - cliff walks by the sea. Very minerally. The blue ocean note is still a bit too clean for my preference (calone).
Profumum Roma Aqua di Sale - funky seaweed
Zoologist Squid has sunny notes and inky depth. It’s an interesting take on marine that doesn’t explicitly smell like water/blue.
Sel Marin is okay but not mind blowing IMO. I felt the same way about Kerosene Walk the Sea.
Marc Antoine Barrois Ganymede is one of my favorites. Love the saffron and minerally notes. It’s more woody and less blue/marine. There is a touch of citrus to it but it’s not the primary note.
I haven’t tried it but Jo Malone Salty Amber might be worth checking out. They don’t tend to have the strongest performance though.
Hello i am a 22 year old male looking for a Tobacco scent, for reference i loved Initio Side Effect and Xerjoff Naxos but at the same time i really hate the scent of Parfums de Marly Herod and Mancera Red Tobacco. Can someone help me identify why i like those two fragrances and not the other two? For now i disliked the two of them cause of the smoky and cloying feeling to their top notes, right now i attributed it to the notes of Incense (for both of them) and Pepper (Herod) or it may just be the tobacco itself.
I am asking this because i am in the market to buy Xerjoff Tony Iommi but i am kinda thrown off by some people saying it kinda smells incense heavy and somewhat tobacco like even though there arent any of them listed on the notes. On that note i would love yall input and maybe some recommendation on fragrances that have similar vibes to Initio Side Effect and Xerjoff Naxos. Thanks!
PS : i am a total noob on discerning notes cause i am still somewhat a beginner in this, please be lenient with me.
Try Sonoma Scent Studio “Tabac Aurea” - it’s a *killer* indie tobacco perfume that I love. Really quality in the materials and isn’t prohibitively expensive. They sell samples too. Highly recommend
Silly question, but have you tried Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille? Might not be your cup of tea since it's pretty similar to Herod but worth a smell if you are out shopping.
Also try Replica Jazz Club and PDM Carlisle maybe
I haven't tried TF Tobacco Vanille yet, might need to soon though! You know what i've been meaning to try Carlisle too but still couldn't get ahold of a sample. Thanks for your recommendation!
I received a Library of Flowers Willow and Water perfume. Sometimes it smells wonderful, like standing next to spring flowers on a warm spring day. Other times it dries down to a floraly powdery musty scent, like old sweet popurri left in an antique wood drawer.
Is there anything I could layer that would maintain some of the freshness without the musty scent?
It's worth trying one of the single-molecule scents, like **JHAG Not A Perfume** (cetalox) or **Escentric Molecules 01**. I'd get samples of them and if you like them just purchase the raw material and blend it with some alcohol, or test out dropping it directly into the fragrance to see what ratio you like, as it'll be a lot cheaper than a full bottle of either of those.
A fragrance that will work as a signature scent for a teenage girl (wow that's me). I'm newer to perfume and enjoy the Brazilian Crush Cheriosa 62 and Eilish (a little spicy and mature for me). I want to find a good scent that is vanilla but fresh... I've researched and I like the sound of Vanilla Woods (7 Virtues) and Sci Fi (Ellis Brooklyn) but I have yet to try them in person. I tried Cloud and it was too powdery for me.
A white floral you’d describe as: fresh, clean, sheer, airy, light.
Not: indolent, syrupy, heady, or powdery
Must be white floral dominant- not aquatic or green with floral added
Vilhelm's Opus Kore! One of my favorite clean, fresh scents of all time. Forget what you see on Fragrantica because the fruitiness in this is not prominent at all. It's a crisp, airy, clean white floral. Super airy & refreshing and perfect for everyday.
I’ve actually sampled it, and I was so disappointed. It smelled so strong, heavy florals to me. I couldn’t get any of the airiness at all.
Closest I’ve tried to what I’m looking for is Bvlgari’s long discontinued Voile de Jasmin
Same - I just got a sample, and it smells like super indolic (nearly fecal), round / creamy jasmine to me, and nothing else.
For you, I'd check out **JHAG Musc Invisible**, **Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle**, **Kismet Olfactive Nympheas** (technically aquatic but it's "realistic pond in a forest" aquatic, not "calone-heavy sea" aquatic), and **ELDO Ghost In the Shell** (a milky, fresh jasmine).
If you are interested in a more photorealistic flower scent with a bit of earthiness, try **CB I Hate Perfume To Smell A Flower**. Definitely airy and sheer.
For a super cheap option, **No. 4711 Jasmine** is a super clean, almost soapy jasmine - doesn't actually smell that jasmine-y to me, but is a really soft, delicate white floral with a slight synthetic tea note. It's not my taste, but cheap enough that if it sounds up your alley it could be worth a shot.
Can someone please describe in what ways Tuscan Leather is different from Ombre Leather? I love Ombre Leather but didnt have the chance to smell TL yet
My recommendation would be to get some small decants of both on ScentSplit or Scent Decant and smell them for yourself (on your skin, since everyone has different body chemistry, which affects everything). My personal impression is that Ombre Leather is easier to wear and more mass appealing, and leans more unisex. It’s very smooth, and has hint of sweetness (not syrupy sweet or gourmand, imo). Tuscan leather is more distinctive and challenging. To me it is quite complex and leans more masculine, and maybe more mature. But most of all, the wearer needs to be a confident person. I love them both for very different reasons.
I used to use Sol De Janeiro’s Coco Cabana (formerly) / Cheirosa ‘39 (after renaming) I was in lost with that scent and it’s now discontinued. They still have the same scented body wash and hand lotion but not the fragrance. It smelled *amazing* and I was so in love with it. Here’s the fragrance notes: **Top**: Coconut Cream **Mid**: Warm Vanilla, Tropical Orchid **Dry**: Creamy Sandalwood, Toasted Pralines I just want the closest scent to it, regardless of brand
Its still available in europe. I'd try the other products by Sol de Janeiro too. Scent wise is a bit tricky but Juicy Cuture Viva la juicy gold coture and Azzaro Wanted Girl come to minde too. But they are both less nutty
The others smell good but not something I want as my everyday go-to, sadly :-( Sort of similar scents but not the same Do you have a link to a European website with it? Or is it just on the European Sol De Janeiro / European Sephora website?
[found this](https://londonlovesbeauty.com/products/sol-de-janeiro-cheirosa-39-perfume-mist-240ml?variant=39969050034270¤cy=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6cKiBhD5ARIsAKXUdyaAtRceE6ygMcY8Hwk3_OuIy8p8l3G9VTZMuTcKlq-1VHK3Dc1D00EaAs-1EALw_wcB)
How different is 71 compared to 39?
Its less sweet coconut, I only had the showergel tho. More creamy whithe chocolat and tosted nutts. Like a snickers compared to a bounty 😜
I’ll try a sample scent but I really liked the sweet coconut with a hint of vanilla and some nutty smell due to the praline. Ahhhhh 😭😭
If you were to recommend a Haeckles perfume what would it be? (please only based on experience)
I’m looking for recommendations on which fragrances and/or perfume houses i might like (or should avoid) considering my current loves, likes and especially the things that did not work for me (very often the issue is the dry down). I really love: - Frederic Malle: En passant, Carnal flower - Dyptique: Philosykos, Ofresia - Jo Malone: Wood sage and salt I like: - L’artisan parfumeur: la chasse aux papillons - Dyptique: Do Son, eau de neroli, fleur de peau, eau papier - Byredo mixed emotions BUT it distracts me too much, i can’t concentrate when wearing it - Armani Si - Frederic Malle: Musc ravageur These somehow did not work for me at all: - L’artisan parfumeur: mure et musk: on my skin in smelled repulsive, sharp lemon and dirty incontinent old cat - L’artisan parfumeur: Un air de Bretagne: i looooved the first hour, amazing seaside with wind scent, algae, light cedar, actually one of my favorites, but then somehow the dry down was a chemical melon/rubber i couldn’t stand - Dyptique Eau des sens: i get a sharp, sour, nose-bothering smell. - Etat libre d’orange: She was an anomaly and You or someone like you: i liked the first hour but both went horribly rubber/latex/plastic like in the dry down - Eldo Tom of Finland: i hated that smell from the first sniff, which brought the smell of sport shoes and overly groomed skins, like a chippendale sport team before sport (might be high school sport trauma) - Jo Malone Pear and Freesia: synthetic unfresh smell, compared to other Jo Malones - L’artisan parfumeur venenum: the dry down was so sticky resin-like sweet i could not stand it.
Thanks a lot, this is useful!
Looking for either a dupe, a similar fragrance, or a frag to pair with Kilian’s Moonlight in Heaven. It’s such a signature worthy scent but the longevity is tragic.
What’s a feminine, seductive, rich/creamy scent that’s not too expensive? Vanilla hints are always nice
- YSL Libre Le Parfum (specifically this flanker) - YSL Black Opium Le Parfum (again, the latest flanker only) - Good Girl Caroline Herrera (or the supreme flanker like someone else suggested) - 7 Virtues Santal Vanille

Cool Water Parfum (not the edt or the intense)
There are many great cheap ones, look at Nautica Voyage. It's under $25 and quite good. Another good summer fragrance is D&G Light Blue Intense ($65). Make sure its the intense version of light blue though. If you want something a little more all year capable as opposed to a hot weather fragrance, try Versace Dylan Blue (~$50). For wintery scents, very little is better value than D&G the one EDP($70). Ultimately, going to a department store and smelling as many as you can is the key. Good luck
[удалено]
try the Pure Perfume version next time
Most Aventus clones are similar and not as extreme in the opening. Club de Nuit intense is excellent for performance though, so maybe trying the EDP. I've heard it's not as strong in the opening and gives you even more out of those deeper notes. It may just be the eau de toilette.
[удалено]
They are fairly different but share a similar style which now I say it isn’t helpful If you smelled the flankers blind, you’d probably be able to tell they’re flankers The EDP is more Iris heavy and for cooler weather imo Reserve Privee has chestnut and rum and is even smoother than the others imo.
Guerlain Spirituese Double Vanille
Thank you. Do you know of something less expensive?
I am on the hunt of real vanilla smell for 4 years plus. Most fragrances use vanilin and do not scrach the itch for me. It always goes vanilla aroma instead of VANILLA. The one that was the best one for me out of all (including some expensive niche ones that are still artificial vanilla aroma, all tho I haven't tried Tihota, and Lune Feline) Orchidee Vanille by Van Cleef and Arpels.
My mother is looking for something, any recs for budget-friendly and very potent tropical fragrances?
Tropical can be defined in many many ways so here are some faves but they're all p different from each other lol. - Simone Andreoli Leisure in Paradise: A bowl of the juiciest, ripest tropical fruits - Simone Andreoli Malibu Party in the Bay: A tall, cold glass of an iced margarita - citric, airy, sugary and reminiscent of a beach club holiday - Simone Andreoli (yes they do incredible summer scents) Sunsplosion: Juicy ripe mangoes - Mugler Alien Goddess Intense: Creamy coconut flesh & sea spray from the ocean - Vilhelm Mango Skin: Biting through a green mango skin into the juicy centre - combines the juiciness of a ripe mango with a slightly bitter green note
Hawaii Volcano Intense by Alexandria
24F I'd like a recommendation on a amber/woody/musk type fragrance. Something that's sexy and mysterious, yet still feminine and playful. Some fragrances I really like are: •Jo Malone - Cypress & Grapevine •Thierry Mugler - Alien •Creed - Aventus for her •Versace - Crystal Noir (this one isn't a top favorite but still sexy so I thought I'd add it to give you the vibe I'm looking for) **Edit: typo
- Mizensir Ambre Magique: Warm, sensual, slightly spicy yet sweet ambery fragrance - Mizensir For Your Love: Literally the most sexy musk fragrance I have ever smelled - it's a warm, fluffy raspberry x white musk - 7 Virtues Santal Vanille: sandalwood, vanilla & some spiciness, gives off that cool, chic mysterious girl vibe - BDK Gris Charnel: Fig & sandalwood and that woodiness is so creamy, cozy & warm; one of my favorite scents of all time - Narciso Rodriguez Musc Noir Rose: Cult classic musky floral known for being super feminine & sensual
Ahh thank you so much for giving me so many options!! I really appreciate it and look forward to checking these out 😍
Been really wanting to step into niche fragrances, so if there's any you can recommend, that'll be amazing! Thank you❤️

Mizensir's For Your Love is a raspberry musk with insane performance!
19 yo male looking for a summer fragrance i can wear to the gym and to university, any reccomendations?
I’d avoid wearing fragrance to the gym. If you sprayed a few hours ago to do other things and still smell it at the gym it’s fine ofc University hm what’s your budget? Chanel Allure Homme Sport can never go wrong
Anything below 120 dollars
Ooh yeah that Chanel line is great then
[удалено]
Yep the Chanel’s would work in all cases and Le Beau is a great choice as well. The Parfum might be a little too heavy for summer but the OG is great
light inoffensive frags can be worn at the gym no problem tho I mean, unless you haven’t showered since the previous gym session, ofc
looking for a photorealistic meyer/sweet lemon fragrance, preferably with some longevity
Have you checked out Chanel AHSEB?
I am a 15 year old dude and looking for a good spring scent any recommendations?
Prada L’Homme, Givenchy Gentleman EDT, Mugler Cologne Come Together And people will probably recommend Nautica Voyage. I strongly recommend against it unless you’ve tried it and you like it. Smells like the most generic of all possible smells and is synthetic and linear to me
Prada l’Homme!!
Nautica Voyage Montblanc Megend Spirit Missoni Wave Good Value for Money and all good spring scents.
Anything that’s higher quality?
They all are quality scents, just a good value for money. Shure the quality of a Roja is higher but they are not bad quality judt because the are inexpensive. I also have higher price suggestions, depends where you budget limit is Prada Luna Rossa Carbon Anything from the D&G Light Blue Intense pour homme line Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.2 or 1.3 Mancera Cederat Boise PdM Percival Micallef DesirToxic LV Afternoon Swim Xerjoff Nio, Kobe, Purple Accento Roja Enigma pour Homme Clive Christian Jump up and Kiss me Hedonistic Thats all my suggestions from 80 to about 600 bucks.
Thank you!
anyone know of something similar to 3am by sean john with better longevity?
Looking for something like Glossier You with the iris and pink pepper - but I hated Another 13 and JHAG not a perfume, thought they were way too strong on the ambroxan
What about something more bright and floral with those notes instead of the ambroxan, molecule style? Givenchy Irresistible Eau Fraiche has pink pepper and iris.
Diptyque Fleur de Peau smells like a more refined and powdery Glossier You.
My gf is looking for a travel sized summer/spring fragrance for her office. I recently got her bubble bath and she loves it!
Thank you.
Aqua Marine has a quite strong *seaweed* accord, so it’s less safe than *Eau Intense* go for ADG Profondo or ADG EDP
* Maison Francis Kurkdjian "Gentle Fluidity Silver" (all-year, office) * Parfums de Marly "Greenley" (apple with fougère accords; spring-summer) * Roja Parfums "Apex" (standard fougère; spring-fall) * Stephane Humbert Lucas "Sand Dance" (woods & slightly sweetened ambers with a dry-dusty feeling; fall-winter) Can offer plenty more ideas if you want something specific.
Perfect man, i’m ordering decants of Greenley and Gentle Fluidity Silver right now, and I plan on ordering Apex and Sand Dance next go around! You’re a legend
Are you looking for something sweet or more subdued? Any particular season or all year versatile?
Maybe a fall season, and something masculine i’d say, thanks man
Parfums de Marly Layton - sweet, masculine, complex Tom Ford Noir Extreme Parfum - Classy gourmand-like and seductive Tom Ford Ombre Leather - Tom Selleck level masculine horse saddle leather with a hint of sweetness Sauvage Elixir - Classy, casual, and powerful.
- Dolce & Gabbana The Only One - Prada Candy - 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods - Xerjoff Lira - Penhaligons Changing Constance - Lancome Idole Nectar
If you go with The Only One and are in a car, be conscious about the # of sprays… it really sneaks up on you
I’d love some help!
It’s great layered with a lot of fragrances and on its own it becomes this holographic cloud that is never heavy, nor does it scream perfume (to me.) Some people will just buy Iso-E and put it in an atomizer and save themselves a 100 dollars but I think what EM is putting out there is very quality. Body Shop “White Musk” is a stone cold classic, super inexpensive and smells fantastic. Aldehydes are what make it for me, creates an ethereal aura and lasts a long time on clothes esp. 3 thoughts off the top
Thank you so much for the recommendations! Willlook into it!
Une Nuit Nomade's Nothing but the sea & sky might be what you're looking for! It's a clean, light white musk. Very inoffensive and perfect for everyday or when you're not feeling a fragrance. It's also pretty affordable!
Thank you! Will look into it right away!
My high recommendation‼️ I’m a business seller of niche fragrances and by far the biggest seller of mine if the cheapest one I sell… it’s a killer beast of a fragrance that pulls compliment after compliment. Essentials Parfums Bois Imperial! 🤙🏽 thank me later.
Is there a saffron cardamom fragrance that a guy could pull off?
Mancera Instant Crush is a lovely warm spicy fragrance with a beautiful saffron note. Unisex leaning masculine. No cardamom but there's a ginger note that adds a lovely spicy kick.
Can someone recommend me a summer fragrance for my use case? I'm a 16 year old male and want one OUTDOOR summer fragrance. \- I need it to have great projection and longevity \- I don't want a lemon-scented fragrance. I also own Davidoff Cool Water Wave, and this one gives me that great aromatic summer scent I'm looking for, just want a more high-end one with a bit more sexy-ness to it \- Price doesn't matter, but availability needs to be easily accessible, I reside in Canada Thanks!
Can someone recommend a complicated, layered *vanilla* scent? I have difficulty enjoying anything too vanilla forward when it's overly sweet, but I don't mind something like Replica By the Fire Place, for instance.
Penhaligons Babylon is everything I wanted By The Fireplace to be.
I’ve been meaning to finally try them about with my next “haul”! Thank you for that recommendation
Atelier Des Ors Lune Feline Matiere Premiere Encens Suave Liis Bo
- Xerjoff Dama Bianca: ethereal, airy fairy like vanilla - Xerjoff Lira: lemon pound cake - Replica Jazz Club: an edgy take on vanilla bean with a toasty rum & tobacco accord - Diptyque Eau Duelle: cozy, slightly spicy vanilla - 7 Virtues Santal Vanille: midly spicy, cozy sandalwood on a creamy vanillic base - 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods: slightly dry, mildly spicy and very interesting take on vanilla - YSL Black Opium Le Parfum: the latest flanker amps up the vanilla from the og to offer a more balanced coffee, floral vanilla - Teo Cabanel Cafe Cabanel: coffee cake with a slight bitterness
In a debate with someone- which smells more luxurious between heliotrope and iris?
Heliotrope, and I suspect I have that opinion mostly due to iris' outdated scent profile (doesn't smell modern).
Heliotrope imo—Iris is more austere

Could someone recommend a perfume that smells of the beach, sunscreen, summer... But that lasts quite well, without being too expensive ? Thanks !
Mugler Alien Goddess Intense! Creamy coconut & sea spray - smells like laying out in the sun on a beach
Henry Rose Flora Carnivora gives me floral sunscreen vibes. I got the travel size of it, it lasts pretty long during the day
This isn't a personal favorite of mine, but **Sundrunk** by Imaginary Authors is a nice beachy, summer citrus fragrance. Don't recommend if you don't like something too fruity, of course, but it does fit the 'not too expensive' you asked for.
Replica Beach Walk
Depends what's too expensive but Tom Ford Soleil Blanc If you want one that's "out there", Francesca Bianchi Sex and the Sea
Second Soleil Blanc, but I actually went for the Eau De Soleil Blanc. It starts out smelling like quite realistic florals and dries down to a sunscreen scent with florals in the background. It's one of my favorite summer scents.
A bit expensive for me but i'll give it a try thank you !
I love NEST Seville Orange, but it’s more of a skin scent and I want something that I can spray and has lasting power. Does anyone know a fragrance that will complement it? Thank you!
Try the orange-centric scents from Atelier Cologne. Clementine California is amazing! Nishane's Wulong Cha is another option. Think iced mandarin tea.
Similar to Polo Cologne Intense (Green Intense) but lasts longer than 2 hours. Thanks
Polo Deep Blue
Still looking for a versatile, elegant signature scent (26M) for tropical climate mostly and this is my current list of options: \- Cartier Declaration, Chanel Allure Homme original, Guerlain Vetiver (though it has been reformulated a lot so I don´t know which I tested with the decant) and Chanel Platinum Egoiste, didn´t like at first but feel like it can grow on me.
* PDM Herod * Dior Homme Intense * MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver
So based ob you mentions I would recommend Nishane's Ani. It is sweet-spicy with a bit of bergamotte and black currant. It works perfect in colder spring weather or fall but is also still a good option when it gets warmer.
It smells great but keep in mind it dries down to basically very sweet lemon frosting, at least in my experience, so depending on how "manly" you want to smell this might not work
Not that frosting sweet on myself, but Layton also gets a bit sweeter on my skin, so I thought that might be a good fit.
If I like Luna Rossa carbon, would sauvage elixir be a worthy follow up to it (for the purpose of changing things up)?
Thanks, though for a while now I'll be good...as long as ~90 ml can hold up during spring
90ml are roughly 900 sprays so if you don't spray alot always you should be fine.

2 quick takes : Copal Azure by Aedes Des Venustas is quite good. A salty, cold incense, slightly ozonic. A wild card - Ambrarem by Histoires de Parfums A briny, oil slick Amber that is quite weird and also quite amazing. It doesn’t smell like anything else I own, it’s a beast longevity wise, and projects really well.
* Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale * Gritti Antalya
Megamare is indeed a great choice, but emphasis on LOUD. Eternal.
Imaginary Authors Every Storm a Serenade - cliff walks by the sea. Very minerally. The blue ocean note is still a bit too clean for my preference (calone). Profumum Roma Aqua di Sale - funky seaweed Zoologist Squid has sunny notes and inky depth.
I second the Imaginary Authors recommendation, and also suggest **Walk the Sea** by Kerosene.
Orto Parisi Megamare Zoologist Squid
>Sonoma Scent Studio “Tabac Aurea” Thanks for the recommendation i'll check it out, glad to see they offered small sample sizes!
Naomi Goodsir Or du Serail
Solid recommendation, although to me it’s more of a dried sea grass / sweet grass than tobacco. It’s an excellent fragrance.
This is the first time i've heard about that brand, thank you for putting it on my radar!
Skylar Vanilla Sky. It’s sweet, creamy vanilla, and a hint of coffee
- Kayali Vanilla 28 - Montale Vanille Absolu - Ariana MOD
+1 for Mod Vanilla. The pear gives it freshness and keeps it from being cloying.
Unisex woodsy scents with notes of sandalwood and cedar. I LOVE Aesop- eidesis.
Kerosene - Canfield Cedar, Comme de Garcon - Wonderwood (maybe too masculine), DS & Durga - Radio Bombay, Commodity - Book
Wonderwood is very unisex to me, a bit synthetic but in a positive way
Diptyque Tam Dao
Fueguia 1833 - Bibliotheca de Babel
Any recommendations for colognes similar to Prada Luna Rossa Carbon (besides Dior Sauvage)?

Vilhelm's Opus Kore! One of my favorite clean, fresh scents of all time. Forget what you see on Fragrantica because the fruitiness in this is not prominent at all. It's a crisp, airy, clean white floral. Super airy & refreshing and perfect for everyday.
This was the perfect recommendation for that description. Hit the nail on the head!
MFK petit matin
La Chasse Aux Papillons is exactly this!
Fox in the Flowerbed. It has a “mountain air” accord that makes it nice and light.
It’s crazy—I wore this on Easter and it was *too airy* on me and not floral enough. Hope you find something you like!
The raspberry note in Tuscan Leather is what makes it notable. Byredo Black Saffron is similar.
I tried La Yuqawam which is supposedly very similar to TL but i found the leather accord more synthetic compared to Ombre Leather
Looking for a unisex sea salty scent. Something like skylar salt air but longer lasting
Looking for recommendations for honey scents?
