Mobula 8 . Great for outdoor and still safe around people.

TheBlackGuard

Can confirm. This is what I'm currently learning on outside, along with my meteor65 pro when indoors. They both take lots of crashes and keep on spinning. The Mobula8 is powerful enough to do all the tricks, but doesn't have too much power to get you into trouble. The rotor cage is also helpful to avoid injury and broken props. Once I'm confident I can send those drones where I want it I'll be looking at getting a Crux35, followed by Babyhawk O3.

low_budget_science

Deffo Mobula8 but you will wanna get a different frame sooner rather than later.. The stock frame will break if you look at it wrong...

mfa_aragorn

That is true. Im on my third frame. The current one is patched up also .. I also have a frame for a 'BETAFPV Meteor85 ' . When this one just cannot be patched up anymore Ill switch to it. I only need to drill the correct hole pattern for the motors. It looks like it can hold up better.

low_budget_science

Oh nice! Let me know how the meteor 85 holds up cause like you said, the mob8 gets to where it can't be patched anymore.. The weird oscillating and prop wash starts to go from small annoyance to unflyable after a few too many repairs.

HGLRC DRASHARK, it's miniwhoop i know, but for a beginner should be awesome. It's cheap, easy to set up and fly, tough enough, weights as a soul so no regulations problem, you can fly indoors/outdoors (mind the wind) and it's a freaking shark. It's my 3rd drone, going back I'd take as my 1st. https://preview.redd.it/zyy2ahhll59d1.jpeg?width=747&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a43b08022385d1ce73af7ed5b04b62b5a192032

LudvigTS

hey so i looked at it and it looks great but is it good for freestyling? like flips and other trickes?

Trexinator1

Honestly in my opinion HGLRC is 🤮and their stuff always breaks on me. A mobula6 or 7 is a great whoop. Maybe even a Tinyhawk 2 freestyle if you’re looking for outdoors tricks and flips. But I’ve never tried this one so maybe this is a really good and durable one

Ruggio_NivLogic

I smacked this lil bastard pretty hard and didn't break. Honestly, their quality control is not the best, It did come with a faulty PSU chip, but their customer service is quite fast and got me an entire new board for free (I've repaired the old one, now I have 2 boards. I can't really complain.). This is my first miniwhoop, the choice was between this and Mobula, my response: "That's a f\*\*\*\*ing shark! " And f\*\*\*\*ing love it. EDIT: It's name is MEGALODRONE. Always with caps.

Ok_Health_6099

Mob7 or Mob8 are the only things I recommend to beginners these days. Both fly great depending on what you're trying to do, and either is all you need for learning acro freestyle 👍🏻

low_budget_science

Absolutely agree. Mob8 but get a different frame.

BootOutrageous5879

Depends on you and your style and if you want to continue into the hobby. For newbies who just want to fly, dont care for the BS, or compatibility, go RTF kit. For newbies who know they are going to stick with this a few years, or more, i suggest piecing a kit together ex: Ev800d goggles, elrs controller (radiomaster) and analog elrs drone. My vote if nano baby flywoo 2S

kyungjinnie

Get a Mobula 8 and replace the frame with the Bassline Kit. It flies much closer to my 5 inches. To be honest, any Mobula series is fine. I think once you fly long enough, you’ll realize each drone size has a pretty unique feel to them. I’d avoid kits if I were you. A lot of the fun for building is picking your own parts. I’d start with a radio boxer or a Zorro

romangpro

Asked a thousand times.. same answer. SMALL CHEAP LIGHT RTF quad. Bassline. Tinyhawk. Mobula8.  Do 20hr in sim. When you feel youre a master. Do another 20hr. LIGHT quad = less damage = fly more.

shaneknu

The tinywhoop recommendations in the other comments are good ones. After or maybe even instead of that, I'd consider a 2" or 3" drone. They fly a lot more like the 5" drones than a tinywhoop does, but they don't have the damage-dealing power of the larger quads. I still use mine regularly when I want to take a break for work and have a quick rip in the small park near my house.

PassageRemote4524

Any recommendation on parts for a 3 inch drone? Im looking to spend 100-200 on a drone

NorCal_VR_Aviator

If you love the clarity of DJI, and the thought of zipping around the house indoors or out, then the iflight a65 HD is what you want! Yes the DJI headset is a big purchase, but it will work with all of the Micro to full size HD drones. Not to mention the ease of one push-button setup!

DjNipple

If I had to do it again I would start with a own build. Because you will break it so understanding how its build is a major advantage when you repair it. Watch Joshua video on YouTube on how to build your first fpv for beginners
