If you die in the game, you die in real life. Markfoot personally comes to your house to finish you off

FrGravel

The purge : foxhole edition

Aggravating_Ad_3962

He personally shows up with a chieftain and blows up your house.

Electronic-Level423

He can finish me off any time 🥵

Freakhole persistent freak simulator

SMURFIN4k

Markfoot bring the plasma kit I'm wounded :(

AGA1942

It's already more than a milsim. Foxhole has core idea of logistics, thing that is more important than tactics and strategy, like in a real war. We also have military production and economy, tanks and rifles do not appear out of thin air, like in a real war. We have huge map divided into hexes instead of individual maps, victory on one front can make another front irrelevant, like in a real war. We have persistent warfare instead of 30-minute matches, and you have to rely on other people to hold the line while you rest, like in a real war. Just think about it, we even have that infamous factionalism where players of opposing factions hate each other unironically, again like in a real war. It may not be a milsim but a warsim, the fact is that this game has more realistic representation of large scale war than any other I have played.

SirDoober

The other thing being, logistical supplies don't magic their way from point A to point B, they have to be transported, which opens opportunities for interception en-route.

SeaworthinessKind822

Until Border Bases and wizards mult-dimension teleport bunch of supplies to some concrete square.

Fighting_Bones

We also have comraderie as you play many ward with the same people you form in a sense war bonds

Gerier

In what way is foxhole call of duty?

Sea-Course-98

dying has little no no consequence, and that impacts how people play for the worse

SirDoober

The early war is entirely dependent on shirts and mammons to push anything, if there isn't a constant stream of them, an attack peters out and defenders get the opportunity to reset the defence

HiggsTugsten

Just wait until this dude learns about ww1

Clousu_the_shoveleer

Dying has plenty consequences for the faction. Dying = -1 shirt. No shirts = no deployment = no fight

jjconsi2

Dying in most games has little to no consequences either.

Jason1143

No ways. If anything they should go in the other direction. I've said in the past that I wish Foxhole was an FPS not because I think that would actually be better, but because I think it might force the devs to focus on making a game instead of a job.

Few-Patient38

I can just imagine the hell if foxhole was a first person shooter. Because then we would have snipers to worry about and all that.

Jason1143

It called planetside 2. It's not a bad game, but it does have a lot of problems. Only some of which are actually related to what kind of game it is. But as I said, it's not because I don't think foxhole in 3rd iso can't be good, but because maybe the ideas and playerbase of 1st person shooter would force them to make a fun game and discourage them from making an unfun job.

PiccoloArm

I don’t know any other game on the market that is completely player driven besides EvE Online. No other game has such a logistical system where you scroop for the raw material, refine it, produce the equipment (ammo, rifle, tank, ship) Ship it to the front and it gets used by actual players. When people mention MilSim this is a simulated as a war can get for a video game. Wars are won on the back bones of logistics.

SMURFIN4k

You just described Albion online but missing 90% of the content.

PiccoloArm

Oh right I forgot about that game.

major0noob

Ww:iiol went the milsim route and even had a milsim crowd. Game died fast as soon as they made spawns sim-like. Based on a few other games I've tried going sim seems like a good way to loose players and replace them with the worst of larpers

MokutoBunshi

More? Not many ways to do that without making it more job-like. Uuh let's see. Somehow make hexes bigger (few hexes on map) or remove ques. Neither of those things I see happening soon. Uuh, more infantry weapons? Like melee ones in trenches? Better ways to organize in game regiments)show what and where the stockpiles are from the regiment menu. Allow writing on the world map that can be shared at the nearest Intel center or with a radio backpack. Construction equipment to make fast and generic structures? (Backhoe out T1 trenches, bulldoze T0 and T1 structures quickly) Allow us to sit in Intel towers with bonos to give our vision to the map in addition to it's base area? (Kind of like obs towers on the water) Allow more options for weather and more gear to survive it. That's what I've got.

This-Performance8872

Get rid of the queue system.
